The upbeat-ish nature of Miku's theme had me a little troubled deciding where to place her. In the end, I had her replace some of Aroma's part on the second half of the track. Her theme works really well, especially with PAFF/Aroma's and NEKO/Neko's theme or as their substitute. The drum pattern is also not too intrusive and adds a nice little twist to a regular 1/4 drum beat. Actually there are other combinations I wanted to include, but some just doesn't sound well with the current flow so I had to pass :^(
As for the track, nothing much changed on the first half except the addition of the OS theme. The normal iM theme was added latter half of the track, which also "suffered" the most changes to accomodate for Miku's integration into the track.
Additionally, I received suggestions to add the black market and the result screen bgm, but (1)result screen has the same characteristics as Ivy's theme in which it has different-toned and heavily boosted bass, distorting other tracks pretty easily and (2)black market had a different BPM, so I decided not to implement either of them for now.
For the video, this time I tried using AE to make it. The idea is still the same in which it shows you whose theme it's currently playing, but in a more simple & tidier layout than the movie maker picture slides i used on my past videos. No fancy visualizers or anything though, my potato laptop already gave its all in processing this. Probably gonna try it one day when I ever saved up enough for an upgrade.

Apparently Cytus II is a game where mixing themes from characters becomes a coherent song instead of being a mishmash of noise
I guess it's another reason to love Cytus and the community supporting it
Well, each of them were made in basically the same tempo(? I think that's the right word, correct me if I'm wrong I'm not a music guy) and using an overall motif, but in different styles and using different sounds. So basically they should mesh together pretty well, with a little tweaking with the mixing.
I mean, most of the character themes are remixes of the game theme
『Castafiore』 somewhat! just because two things have the same tempo and motifs doesnt mean they will fit well. Sometimes they can be the exact same song with one being a remix, but some parts wouldn’t fit.
The ends of the spectrum would be XENON and ConneR on one side, and someone like Joe on the other.
Xenon’s theme is very different than the main theme, yet fits correctsly. On the same coin, ConneR is just anther rendition of the theme, but is done in such a way that it (probably coincidentally) fits well with a multitude of other themes.
On the other hand, Joe’s is really well done, but in this mashup, as detailed somewhere R had to lower down the bassline and mix some other parts of the volume so it doesn’t drown the other themes.
In fact, if you think about it the only reason this fits so well is because the mixer has done it so fantastically. If you just mash two themes together (or worse, just play them all at once), more times than none something will feel off.
Everything in the game has meaning. All the songs are connected to the story and could have foreshadowing to them. I am scared for the next update of the story. The latest has my mind tripping.

Miku is good and all but damn, you gotta admit that conner, robo head and paff combination is one of the best

Love the mashup. I like your dedication to updating it regularly alongside the character releases. Although i have to point some things out
Joe’s single segment was a bit quiet. His part should be a little louder than the rest since it fits the “solo” feel that the sax is giving off. Also Miku x Nora x Robo was a missed oppurtunity.
Other than those very minor things, I love the entire thing. Your improvements in the visuals and other aspects of the mashup are really nice!

I want to keep the tracks as vanilla as possible, and while not as strong as Ivy's, Joe's bass can easily drown out other tracks too so if I wanted to make him louder without compromising the others, I'd have to take the bass out of his track.
As for miku-nora-robo, I did that during the prototype phase, but nearing the end I had to choose between placing them apart or removing conner on their part, since having 4 "main" tracks playing at the same time would distort the sound.
Aside from that, there are a lot of other combinations I couldn't use because I've yet to find a good flow into and from those combos that I'm satisfied with :^(
1:28 I must say that despite being polar opposites. Neko being mischievous and chaotic while Xenon being disciplined and orderly, they sure do go together. Their themes and ship. Like seriously, Xenon is usually in her posts without even being tagged. And the fact that they collab together just fuels Neko x Xenon even more.

I used that back on the 1.7 version, but after I got a better quality assets for 2.0 it introduced a few sync issues, so I reverted back to the old one

@@Eclin ConneR is more classical heavy, while Xenon is more rock (Screamo somtimes) oriented. But both of them play a major role in the story if you care enough about it

That'd be dope as hell, but wouldn't make sense for a bunch of reasons, mainly that if you didn't buy the other characters you have no idea who they are or their relevance outside of small tidbits 😂

If they were to add some mashup level, then it shouldn't hold relevance to the story and shouldn't be a "final" level, maybe just a fun little thing like the glitched charts.
