I wish they released AoE III for mac on Steam. One of the first games I ever fell in love with. Every time I watch your videos I am amazed on how great the community still is.

15:45 That fight in the russian mirror was mostly scewed by the fact, that Musketiers rip through light infantry (skirmishers and bow units) in a melee fight. That is because of melee resistance on the Musketiers and much higher hand attack + multipliers versus light infantry. GoonGoon had basically two hard counters with his Musketiers versus Kossak + Strelet. The only way this could have worked against the musketier would have been hit and run techniques and containing the enemy cossacks with his own.

Best match to me Spain vs Portuguese
Man, it was hard to watch goongoon lose this. I think he was the better player at the time, but just didn't know the patch meta as well. It was really hard to watch the spain/port game where he didn't take the 5th tp from raphael. Awesome series! I think Raphael deserved to win if only because of the french vs spain game. That was such a tight game, but really amazing game.

Is it 5 bank as the limit because of the ESOC patch?
Can I play this on services like Hamachi or Gameranger with a steam copy? I tried to create an ESO account with my steam copy but it seems the CD key has been used by someone else before - I certainly can't remember ever using it, and the recovery didn't send anything to my email address so either steam have given me a duff copy or I'm going mad.

I am a huge fan of age of empires 3 and my question is does this game has any future?
A U F I D E R Z E I used to play back before both expansions, I loved the game but my main problem with it now it's there's too many civs to learn and no new players are going to take the time to rank up to get all the cards. They should just release the cards to everyone.
Dissentdnb my main problem is that creators of this game ensamble studios are disbanded and there will not be any new age of empires or updates... which is sad

how come no one chooses the expansion civs? is otto banned?
Otto is banned, the expansion civs where available but goongoon is great at the European play style.
Otto is not banned, no civ is. Otto just isn't that strong on ESOC Patch
Otto used to be banned in past tournaments didn't realised that had changed.
Why does no one use forts?
Forts are cant move and have fairly low firepower, also in age three you could get an eco or military card in its place.
Is it normal for Russia to make so many musks in a mirror? I rarely see them trained in non-mirrors.
Really? I usually have a composition of 3:2:1 of Strelets to Musketeers to Cossacks, at least in the beginning stages of the game. Musketeers are great siege units and provide a decent cavalry counter. You saw why that is necessary here; LordRaphael was pushed back in his base and he couldn't take care of goongoon's Cossacks with just Strelets and his own Cossacks.
I can certainly see why incorporating a lot of them into a mirror game is worthwhile, but I've very rarely seen them used in the games on this channel when Russia is playing against a non-russian civ, except when the games starts to drag on. Maybe the games usually end before there's really a need for musks, most of the time.
From my experience with Russia Musketeers are usually the core of my army along with a few Cossacks so I have a counter to the cavalry.
You should also never forget, that Musketiers actually beat Light Infantry in Melee combat (even though LI is the supposed counter towards Heavy Infantry like Musketiers). Not in ranged combat though. The reason it is this way is the enourmous melee resistance off Musketiers and great hand combat attack.

Settlers cost coin, so why not?
Wood and Food are better for Dutch. The only things coin treasures can really do as Dutch is to guarantee consistent settler production going into age 2.

Not sure if I like some of the ESOC maps.
I'm all for modifying the ESO ones to make them balanced in terms of hunts, but the second game just seems odd and out of character really.
