Excellent video Rob. 2 things I took from it: the JG adapter that screws into the bottom of the GF conical fermenter valve - great upgrade for closed transfer. And - I couldn’t work out how to ensure the keg didn’t just trap the CO2 when transferring. Turns out you can disengage the PRV by turning it 90 degrees. Who knew?(not me). Looking forward to putting this into practice to transfer a hoppy NEIPA and keeping out that pesky oxygen! Thanks, Rich.
Wish I'd seen this before I just ordered my GF30. Will be putting one in my next order I think because the GF branded one looks super complex, and quite frankly I'd rather buy from you guys.
If you would like then you can place the order and choose collection as your method of delivery we can ship it with the other order. Just add to the notes that you want it shipped together as I think your order will not have shipped yet 👍🏻
Hi again. I bought the item last night for collection as you suggested, and asked for it to be added to my order, but from the website information today the order looks like it's left without the pressure kit in it. 😕 Do I owe you a delivery charge now?
As the GF30 isn't a pressure FV there is no point in a gauge as whilst you can build up enough pressure to push out your finished beer, you also will lose some through the lid seal.
I just ordered it. Question - for oxidation perspective I would love to have this on when fermenting - how would you do about that? install a simple bubbler in a soda bottle?
You could try this yes but there would likely come a point where the pressure would equalise and the flow would stop. This way means you have consistent pressure on top of the beer the whole way through.
No, the GF30 fermenter isn't pressure rated. You would need to look at either one of the PET plastic pressure fermenters or one of the other brands such as BrewTools or BrewBuilt www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product-category/equipment/
Dam your videos, more stuff I want to buy😂 I have a new GF fermenter in transit from you as I type. Oh well best I crack on and place another order. Cheers
Thanks for the tip about weighing the keg to judge the beer volume. I was pondering this exact problem and you've proposed a nice solution!

Looks good guys. Why did you not include a pressure gauge on the top? This is a must in my opinion! :( Everything else is perfect!

Thanks for the video - subscribed!
So why do you prefer this over the GF pressure transfer kit?
Hi, put simply it is far less complex which is always a winner in my book;)
I just ordered it. Question - for oxidation perspective I would love to have this on when fermenting - how would you do about that? install a simple bubbler in a soda bottle?
Juts put this on instead of your normal airlock, the PRV will act as the airlock. We do this regularly with our brews here and never have any issues
@@themaltmiller8438 great. Really hope they are back in stock soon :)
Get the Grainfather one with the pressure gauge on it then you know how much pressure the lid start bending at 2 pounds
Not available to buy in Australia? would love this for my setup
Email in, we will send you one.
@@themaltmiller8438 thanks, will do. can you do a price for just the tri clover fitting? I have everything else. Would save on postage

Could this system work for dry hopping?
(On a grainfather conical fermenter)
Paul
Not sure Paul, what are you thinking?
Does the tri-clamp with the cornie fitting go on from the start?
Hey, yes you can fit it from the start if you wish. We have done this a few times and it's no problem at all. 👍🏻
@@themaltmiller8438 I take it that the PRV is basically a blow off valve in this case?
@@zindigoboutique Exactly that
@@themaltmiller8438 Great!Any idea when they will be back in stock?
Couldnt you attach the gas to gas on both so the head space of the GGC remains full and oushes the beer into the keg prv closed of course

@themaltmiller8438 I'm going to try it I'll let you know if it works probably fill corny with co2 and then lower its pressure 1st though
hi, is it possible to ferment under pressure with this equipment?

Where could I purchase the "John Guest 3/8 push fit to 3/8 BSP Adapter PI011213S"
In the United States of America?
Not entirely sure, might be worth trying your local plumbing supply store?
