They just gave that as an excuse when she started arguing bc it would be more polite to blame a trivial detail than to say she just wasn't a good enough dancer. They're the bad guys this way, not the sweet girl who tried her best. Her dancing is ok, and it's hard to know exactly how much skill they're looking for if the tour is limited to 1 state. But if you compare her to the dancers in Palace Follies, she's very amateur.

They were looking for a dancer, not an actor. If she had managed to keep from killing that one guy, she could have got him to take her to more auditions and could have had a chance and got better. She has X factor. Or maybe that's just Mia I'm seeing 😂 someone with such sensitivity and darkness might be better for a more avante garde medium. Shoulda went to France and did French expressionist films(not porn lol).

It might have helped, but keep in mind, she already murdered people before the audition, so I feel like she wouldn't have made it far either way. Even though she's passionate about dance, she's delusional and her skills aren't anywhere near what she thinks they are. Even if she got picked and didn't murder, she would most likely do something to upset the people she worked with. She's a sad character, and my impression was that she was probably a paranoid schizophrenic or something along those lines.

The way her face is blank with those dead eyes than when it’s time to dance she lights up. Pearl loves the fantasy, the dream, the sublime, & I think that’s why so many relate to her. In the harsh reality of life she wants to enter the divine theatre & fly like a bird. She has darkness inside of her that became all consuming. Although she never got to see those dreams manifest she still lived inside that fantasy her whole life. This film is so much more than just a horror flick. It’s a manifesto to all the dreamers.
