This raga is exactly like Shuddha Dhanyasi with M2 replacing M1 in the aarohana and avarohana. Even a Hanuman Song "Parijatham Tharuvin Verinil", sung by SPB, is also composed in this raga

I understand that people say that SumanEsaranjani, Samudrapriya and Madhukauns are one and the same. But why they talk of NirOshtA. There's no panchanan in NirOshtA?
Composer, composotion as well as the Singer here are excellent.

    Quiz #8 answers:
    1. Sumanesaranjani or Suminisapriya.
    2. Nirostha raga.
    3. Shanmukhapriya is the mela raga.
    4. Not sure....'god/queen of the oceans' is the literal translation of samudrapriya. Samudra or Jal is one of the Panchabhutas. Perhaps this raga is based on this. just a guess.
    5. Shanmukhapriya, Kharaharapriya, Gayakapriya, Kokilapriya, Varunapriya, Natakapriya.
