For the people watching this in the future: Exclude Object and Adaptive Meshing is now NATIVE implemented in Klipper. You just need to enable them in your printer config!
You should do that in the install part of RPi OS. Click the gear that will open a dialogue that will let you set a custom url for your local network. I use the name of the specific printer. It will also let you input wlan info, and set a user and password all will be baked into the RPi OS install.
Another Macro that goes by the way-side by most companies factory installed Klipper: M600 / color change. Once up and running you just have to add it in your slicer.
You can also set up Klipper Screen with a regular monitor and mouse. I simply used a spare monitor and mouse and have a nice, large display and mouse control. Cheap and great!
If you don’t install Klipper screen you can VNC into the RPi and use the copy sd card utility to manually back up your entire sd card/drive. Having a local copy is the best practice, as sd cards are prone to failure due to power cycles. Takes a few seconds to swap out a corrupted/dead sd card
Installing klipper screen on the SV-07 will brick the printer. Sovol uses a custom FW / fork of klipper for their MKS pi/ pad 5. I have the 07 and the 07 Plus.
@@jeffdavenport469 I feel Klipper screen is a huge mistake. It kills 98% of the Pi’s functionality. Like being able to make a 100% backup of your setup. I use an iPad with all my printers in its own tab in password/biometricaly locked Brave browser. There is zero need for a screen on the printer, ZERO. It just adds more headache to the process

9:00 I never considered this possibility. u can't express how many times I've had to cancel a whole print because 1 of 50 parts didn't adhere as well as the others. I'm considering upgrading my old kingroon now
Nice video! Unfortunately it's missing the latest klipperi hotness: spoolman, the new filament manager. Didn't manage to install it yet myself, so I was really hoping for it to be in this video.
You should make a new video regarding KAMP meshing feature now being a part of klipper itself, only requiring the setup of [exclude_object] and adding one new setting to [bed_mesh] in printer.cfg
I love Fluidd, but I have a slight preference for Mainsail. I use a Raspberry Pi Version 1 camera, and I found installing both Fluidd and Mainsail together caused it to stop working so I had to go one or the other, but Mainsail and KlipperScreen provide an amazing UI on the printer, with a very functional remote interface also
what streaming protocol did you choose? I followed the common instructions on the web cam installation and one said, "do not select experimental" for the streaming protocol. My web cam didn't work, and I have both Fluidd and Mainsail running. I thought, "What the heck, it's not working.. might as well play with it." Changed the protocol to "experimental" and boom, there's my webcam video.
Having spend the better part of this week upgrading an anycubic kobra 2from marlin to klipper I can finally understand WHY someone would do this. Sadly I also understand why a back-up is so important. The BTT CB1 I was using had a ram chip that decided to self immolate taking the whole board and HDMI touchscreen with it. So that took me down the rabbit hole of running it on a PC. That then forced me to figure out how to manually pull the required files from the SD card to manually restore my setup. I had to dig around in there a LOT to find them. So yeah...a simple back-up feature is crucial. However I do not want to upload my files to a website. I want a back-up option that is FULLY local. But now that I know where they are kept I can much more easily pull them whenever I want.
I am running the Sovol klipper upgrade on my sovol v06 plus, and I cannot get the exclude object to work. tried to upgrade to the latest version of clipper, but it bricked the computer , had to go back to sovols version

Great video! You production quality is getting better for every video! That's a good point, but in my opinion putting Octoprint on Klipper instead of something cleaner and more stripped down like Fluidd or Mainsail kind of defeats the purpose a little bit... don't you think?
I totally agree on that, just thought it might have been worth a mention in case one wanna go from octoprint with marlin and keep the familiar plugins. I would of course still recommend mainsail/fluidd with the plugins you mention in the video any day of the week @@thenextlayer
Just use a old phone or tablet. Cheaper and probably have a drawer full of old phones. Much better too than the klipper screen as you get the full web interface, plus connect all your printers to that interface so you only have on screen rather than 5-10-20 depending on your set up. Touch screens are great for single set up or even two printers but when you get into small game status, it’s a lot nicer to have a single HMI rather than one for each machine. If you’re from the manufacturing world have a HMI for each makes sense but not in 3D printing.
