Went here opening year as well, I'm a little sad I wasn't old enough (at 9) to really appreciate the detail and great coasters. And now I'll never be able to go again😢
I was a performer there! I was the original speed boy (part of the "bear medal family) and was one of the the British guards and a gogo dancer on the British invasion area. There was so many red flags that it wasn't going to last. . But my god! That was one of my favorite Jobs till this day! I'm wondering why there's nothing about freestyle music park. (The second attempt for the park to be successful.)
If they had promoted this park and dropped the one day fee it would have made it. Economy was low the year it opened 2 years late. But is could have been the best thing to happen to SC and Myrtle Bch. Go to the bch during the day, then come and Rock the night. Bad promoters. It's a darn shame.
The amount of arrogance spewed by John Binkowski at the end is one of the reasons this park failed. They assumed they knew better than anyone else out there when opening this park. They overspent then overcharged their guests. I know because I went to the park one day and was one of about 50 TOTAL people there. Sad but not unexpected.
I heard admission is completely free, all of the rides are gone and they’ve seemed to redesign the park to look rundown and abandoned. They even hired people to act like vandals and drug dealers to wander around the park. Very realistic!
Now that I did not know! Well of course they failed because of their ticketing system. I think Disney was about $10 more at that time. I'm reading a group of articles talking about Hard Rock Park and why it went bankrupt but it only mentions once or twice that the worst recession since the Great Depression was a reason.
@@CAMCLIPS01 oooooooo you got me there. ain't what I herd from another former employee... just saying what I herd. And I STILL dont feel sorry for that park. And you calling me names doesn't hurt me at all. You piece of shit. lmao!!! Have a nice day shrek🤣🤣🤣

It doesn't look very good and the prices mentioned sound outrageous. Funny for this to be posted this year when apparently it went bankrupt and is closed.

"Our goal is to have our guests thoroughly entertained... and really... not know why!"
RED FLAG RIGHT THERE
I remember going to the park the first year it opened around 2007, everything was broken ):
The park opened at the worst time possible.
Fantastic park, Horrible location. This would have been perfect in Las Vegas.
The year it opened the economy was bad. Location was not the problem.
MGM tries thier hand with a theme park there, it was torn down a couple years later...
@@FunkyStudios wait they demolished it?
@@JMKoople it’s still there. It sits abandoned and falling apart but it’s still standing

Sad this park didn't make it. Led Zeppelin/time machine was great.
just watching this video was exhausting
"an amazing theme park experience" cut to scenes of sparse crowds meandering around.

Worked security at that park from 2007-2012...so sad it never worked out.
The park was only open one year as Hard Rock Park. So I doubt you worked security there for 5 years.
Damn what a gig.
@@Ohiopianoguy the park paid for security to help deter vandalism as the owners were trying to sell.

This place is being dozed down and someone else has purchased the land as of today. 1/22/2022.
The closure of this place was a real shame...

Supposedly took less than 6 months to go bankrupt.
4 months
Variable interest rates.
So sad it closed
I only paid 50 to get in and it included rides
the park didnt even put the addres.
not only that, it cost $67.00 a person JUST TO GET IN. not including the rides. i dont feel sorry for that park

Theme parks need to appeal to all ages. No child would want to go near this place.
Orenthal James that's a lie

I can see why they failed.

South Carolina cannot support an amusement park, which explains its closure.
You ever heard of Carowinds???
Rusty Baskey Carowinds is technically in North Carolina and is one of the reasons a theme park of this size in South Carolina will never work.
