I can't believe I've never seen this before....that was brilliant and hilarious in equal measure. Al is a genius!!! Thanks for a great reaction as ever!!
You are both brilliant how you listen and enjoy Al Murray, he does work on so many levels, so intelligent, when you watch the same clip again there is some slight comment or movement that you miss the first time it is like a master class in comedy but with hidden jokes and his audience preparation is sublime, he talks to them and remembers specifics of many people in the front row and adds this to his routine, so nuanced. Never gets old. I really enjoy your participation and comments. I hope you are both safe I know Lebanon is again struggling with its neighbours and humour was never more important to get through troubled times.
In WW2 there was a German fighter aircraft model 109 made by Messerschmitt 'It's coming home' is an English football song of hope in winning the trophy. Heinkle, Dornier, Junkers and Fokker Wolf are the name of manufacturers of German aircraft in WW2 The Corn Laws, to protect British agriculture, were repealed in 1815
Glad to see you,s are back and are ok , been waiting for you two to react to that sketch if you get a chance watch the whole show it's hilarious. Good reaction guys👍.
One of the comments made reference to a black labrador dog with a name he can't use in the workplace. This was in reference to the dog owned by Wing Commander Guy Gibson of the Royal Air Force. It was the mascot of No. 617 Squadron during WW2. It was run over the day that squadron launched its famous dam buster mission with the bouncing bombs skipping across the water. A quick Google will tell you the dog's name. Or I can just say that it begins with 'N'.
1. Messerschmitt (extension) 109 was a type of German aeroplane in world war 2. 2. You are correct he was mocking the England Football Team about getting knocked out of the first round of a tournament that the German team won. "Its coming home" is an English football song, about the delusional hope that England will win a tournament at last.
One slight correction: The song referencing "football's coming home" is about the tournament coming home, not winning it. Baddiel, Skinner and the Lightning Seeds wrote it for the 1996 European Championship hosted primarily in England. People not listening to the lyrics properly have been getting this wrong for decades now. Less so initially, but more and more during the last few tournaments.
@@Dunk1970 I think I will respectfully disagree. Fair enough the "it's coming home" can be argued to relate to the tournament being held in England. However, the lyrics go on about how bad or unlucky England have been and then contrast that with the 66 team winning the world cup. Then it says : "I know that was then, but it could be again". So, the song is about the dream, the hope of ending the 30 years of hurt . Still believing England can do it again.
@@markkelly9621 The line "It's coming home" is not referencing hope though. It is a definite statement about something that is definetly about to happen. At the time the song was written, it was for the tournament coming home. It literally says, "It's coming home. It's coming home. FOOTBALL'S coming home". England being where Association Football's rules were invented and where the first league was. Nowhere does it state that the trophy is coming home. The killer argument being that it was written for the European Championships of 1996. England have never won the European Championships, so it can't possibly be about a trophy England has never won coming home.
@@Dunk1970 There are more lines in the song than "it's coming home". As I said in the original post it is about a delusional hope that England will at last win another trophy. That is backed up by the line quoted in my second comment. The song clearly isn't simply about the fact that the tournament is being held in England. There is more to it than that. I mean, why would England fans write a song celebrating that a footy tournament is being held in England? It's about hoping against hope that this time England might just win something.
@markkelly9621 Nope, your anti England bias is leading you astray. This is given away by you saying at the end of your first post that it is about the hope of winning a tournament "at last". They've already won the World Cup, which I know you know. The line you keep quoting is from the chorus which explicitly states that it is about football coming home. You are just willfully ignoring that key bit. Just look up any interview with the song writers about the song. You are implying it is about being cocky about an upcoming victory, when it is almost the exact opposite.
Great reaction guys. Al Murray is so good at accents. Try his "What Hell Is Like In Different Countries" (7.48 mins) for your next Al Murray reaction and for more brilliant Al Murray accents as this comedy sketch is so funny guys. Keep up the great work The Couple Crib and look forward to your next video. 😅🤣😂
The Messerschmidt 109 was the most famous German fighter plane of the Second World War. He’s really making a joke about England’s obsession with that war.
Fantastic channel guys. You probably realise by now that British Humour mainly makes fun of ourselves. Al Murray pretending to be a pub landlord is an actual historian. His whole act is to make fun of ourselves. British Humour. Sarcasm. Wit and everyone is a target. Everyone especially ourselves. Please don’t take it literal. Love watching your reactions 🙏
As an englishman i dont know a word of german but im sure fritz is definitely mocking us for getting kod all the time in the semi finals and he called us shit houses 😂😂
Great reaction! IMHO Money is simply a human construct that in practice allows a tiny minority to own and control the vast majority of the world's 'actual' resources (Land, Water, Human Labour).
loving you're reaction, its coming home in German. Al is a legend comic but also did a series about British being stupid. Germany dont much care about the world cup

Very funny but he's going in the wrong direction... It wouldn't be London - Frankfurt - Tokyo - San Francisco - New York, because of the way the world spins it would have to be London - New York - San Francisco - Tokyo - Frankfurt - London 🌍🌎🌏🌍 🤣🤣🤣
19:48 the dog's name he is referencing there is the N-Word (the derogatory term towards people of colour). A famous British WW2 bomber pilot called Guy Gibson had a black labrador called the N-word which was hit by a truck and killed right before he flew a major mission to destroy some German dams.
I'm glad that you found and reacted to this British comedy gold , i hope that you find peace in the Lebanon . Love from the UK
Carols on the ball and knows her stuff. Great video guys. Have a good weekend. ✌️

Great reaction guys👍I hope you're both well, especially with the situation of civil unrest there. Take care and stay safe✌️
great reaction as always, very enjoyable

In case you were wondering, the final phone call is from the Irish banks.
They bet a little too high prior to the crisis, so to speak.

I've been to a couple of his shows, they are absolutely brilliant! and I'm going again in November!
Good one. England went out in the first round Germany won, Footballs coming home is/was a song they sang in England.
IT'S CERTAINLY FOOD FOR THOUGHT.
If you imagine the Markets are all about Confidence, which they are! This all makes perfect sense.
It isn't dubbed, he's very clever vocally, especially with all the sound effects he creates with his voice.
Its coming home is an english football song 😂

Obsession? What, obsession with the biggest war in history? What a strange comment to make.
Don't mention the war! I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it.
The German part is about football and England always getting beat by Germany 😂
he speaks german like i speak arabic (never learned it just a few words from watching movies) but he is too funny
