We needed a midorima zone performance in the final movie. Let's see just how terrifying he woulda been with it. Everything we saw him do was without zone. He was the only one who didn't get some of that zone juice. Even Kuroko got it by proxy thru Kagami and later with Aomine in the final movie

Akashi would have to run full court press but if he runs a full court press, it'll weaken his team's defence
i dont think zone midorima suits him since his playstyle is mostly based on reserving stamina and hit 3s from the other side of the world, not breaking through enemies with drive and dunk on people he literally just needs to get the ball and he can immediately score

Zone would allow him to be an unguardable force on the 3 point line. He will be able to create his own space for his shots more effectively. He already showed that he has good handles and footwork in the series so just amplify that with the zone. Man will be an unstoppable, unplayable force for the duration of the zone. An instant release 3 from anywhere on the court, incredible ball handling to create space for his own shots. Akashi would have nightmares of him cos he will not be able to leave him for a moment. Midorima would simply stand in his side of the court, Akashi would have to man mark him which would mean he can't be involved in defense with the rest of his team in the paint... And it'll have to be akashi cos zone Midorima will destroy any combination of the other players that they put on him to double team or triple team him
