Thank u doctor seriously no doctors give information about g6pd deficiency my son is 13 when he was 3 days old he was admitted due to jaundice and i came to know about g6pd deficiency he is fine no issues but always need knowledge about it
Feeding type is not related necessarily, if there is significant rise in bilirubin with no clear risk factors (or hemolysis in absence of immune factors), we consider this
my mom told me that when i turn 14-15 i can start eating things that i couldnt eat like fava beans for example, this is because my uncle (her brother) has the same condition and he eats everything and nothing happens. is this true?
Hello Doctor, thank you for all the precious information. I am of African descent and I live in France. My son was diagnosed with G6PD at 2 weeks and he caught jaundice the first week. Now he is 3 years old. I want to know if he can ever be free from G6PD someday ? If so, should I ask for another test to check the evolution ? Thank you for your help 🙏
@@Pamplemousse-l1l1 how is your child now? Even my son has been diagnosed with g6pdd. Please advise me what are the precautions which needs to be taken to protect the g6pdd
Hi dr, my 3month son has been diagnosed with g6pd, he had no clinical signs, just the new born screening showed this deficiency… checked again and his levels are 3 , normal range 6.4 - 18.7 … whats the enzyme activity/ severity which class does he belong to? Is it severe for indians?

It’s hard to predict, and a mild reaction may not cause visible effects.

Usually, it’s for life, so it’s not necessary to test again. And it’s safer to take the precautions in any case for life
Alright I understand, thank you very much !
