Haha, a lot of the damage was pure luck though. It is still very easy this way, no doubt but it was very lucky with the back to back crits. Also yeah vow of enmity largely takes away GWM debuff.
Lol on one hand yes but on the other hand- You have this guy, going in prepared for a fight, with prior knowledge of his enemy’s weaknesses, buffing himself with all the scrolls potions and powers he can carry, harboring an illithid parasite that grants him powerful psionic capabilities, and legendary weapons and armaments blessed by gods, And his target is just chilling in a chair before he arrives.
Absolutely but for one he doesn’t know we are about to fight, and even if I didn’t use all of those buffs, I can still heal. As long he doesn't do massive burst damage I can outheal him.
@@zalzeera Sarevok gets one stack of Murderous Strikes whenever he makes an attack. Gaining 4 lets him use Deathbringer Assault on his next turn which deals 20d10 (avg 110 dmg). So one or two more turns might've done you in.
@@callumreilly9107 Yeah if they hit. I dont remember right now, he has like a +9 or something to hit. Ability drain should make it at least +8 by the time he has deathbringer assault. With my ac of 26, he would need to roll 16 or higher with disadvantage. That is still not very easy.
@@zalzeera Yeah, I was just pointing out that he does have a burst option cos you said "As long he doesn't do massive burst damage I can outheal him". At any rate, as long as you take advantage of the design decision that the spirits teleport to the other room while he walks there, any significant prebuffing makes the fight pretty trivial.
Nice! I'm currently doing my first honor mode run and just killed Sarevok in the first round with my party. I initiated dialogue, then my part illithid character mind blasted him and the others, prompting him to teleport and attack. Then Astarion, respecced as an assassin paralyzed him thanks to that surgeons amulet from act two and then i just went ham on him, with a disintegration spell slipped in.
we found out that if you have murderous aura he will walk away from you. you can use this to kite him around a bunch of oil or smokepowder barrels and gg ez
I played solo assassin, enemies just stop chasing character when it's stelthed at a distance of 25-30 metres, it usually depends on the terrain. They don't even try to follow the last known position and simply stand there and shout threats while the crossbow does its job.
If you intend to do this cheese and the door is already open, it's best to become an unholy assassin. Then use minor illusion/cat meow to gather all the echoes and the new trader into one room and block that room with boxes. I recommend Sarevok's office. After that, when you attack Sarevok the echoes should be trapped there.
Wow had no idea you could cast vow of enmity on yourself.. Does this effectively apply VoE to every enemy vs. just one? That’s huge as you can use it for more than one target and for the full 10 turns if you’re/enemies are alive for that long
@@jacob_power I used hellfire greataxe for Ansur. Ansur is resistant to necrotic. Doesn't matter much anyway for Ansur, because any damage you do to Ansur becomes 0 if it is less than 4.
Gah damn that is some DAMAGE. Actually insane that Vow of Enmity works casting it on yourself. Good shit!

Can't believe I never thought of attacking him as he was walking so his adds get stuck in the locked room. Definitely using that for my playthrough
I like being able to punish them for being too excited about murder.
Love the timing on the music. The fight finished on the last note. Perfect. Something similar happened during one of my sarevok fights
I feel like a level 16 should absolutely mop the floor with a level 12 in solo combat xD

Yeah darkness, phalar shreik all of that work. I am trying to avoid barrelmancy in my playthrough, but otherwise it is a lot of fun.
It also helps to crit like 5 times in a row. . . with smites
That was just lucky. He was slowed already so the action economy as already in my favour. If he got too antsy I would have blackholed and flew away.

Yeah they buffed assassin patch 5, stealth archer is a pretty solid build.
I liked the bit where you got up in his face and smashed his face harder than he smashed your face! 😀
Showed him who's the superior bhaalspawn haha
now the door to the ritual is already open and dont know how to close it again

yeah and it’s definitely a bug, wouldn’t be surprised if it gets patched soon
@@IliumGaming Well hasn't been patched yet. In any case, if not for this I would use Barcus' gloves.
This makes me feel so incompetent lmao
The back to back crits are lucky, don't worry about it.
What feats are you using? Interested to know why the polearm over say giantslayer
I hadn't killed Ansur yet so didn't have the giantslayer. I had alert, gwm and savage attacks.
Ah okay, safe to say you are using the Sword of Chaos until you beat Ansur?@@zalzeera
