I would love to know what Richard Carpenter’s reaction would be to hearing her voice. Its hauntingly beautiful to me. I would buy her lp

Great song. As a musician of many years you learn to recognise eye and face movements between fellow musicians. Look at some of the musicians in this video and you will see smiles of enjoyment playing something decent. Great recording.

I have never heard of her until her record was on the Paul O'Grady radio show. I am a big fan of the Carpenters, and I had to listen really hard to hear it wasn't Karen.... Unbelievable, I thought Karen was a one off, but thankfully Harriet is here ..

Similar to Karen....but different. Harriett....embrace your Karen Carpenter "sound alike", but be you. You can do both! but I have to admit...you doing a "Carpenters " song on your next album...produced by Richard Carpenter could just be what the doctor ordered. I mean, I bought your album based on your "sound" as compared to Karen...and who LOVE your stuff. I just say......, give it a try. Could be quite the emotional experience ! You would hit two bases of fans and gain admirable respect at the same time! You go girl!
I echo what Michael said (in 2017). Indeed, you have a strong case for gaining TWO audiences. Certainly you are talented without any need to do anything else but you have a HUGE installed fan-base that would love to hear your covers on the Carpenter's work. With Richard's blessings, this would be a massive potential to rocket in two directions at the same time. I am ALREADY a fan of you, but I know other's out there would see both sides (and styles) of your wonderful voice. Sending you blessings from the US and hoping for a tour someday over here.

I saw her live couple years ago supporting Michael Bolton in Halifax UK and. Blew me away! Wish wish wish we could hear Harriet so much more on top live radio stations! Graham Norton has great taste and plays harriet’s music frequently, but this girl needs a break! Compared to what’s in the charts these days she romp away with her competitors

If it weren't for the way she pronounces "first," I would think that I was listening to Karen Carpenter.
Only fair way to do this is to find people who have never listened to The Carpenters. Play 2 versions and let them choose which they prefer. It is not fair if someone has heard the original because you compare it as an impression NOT on it's own merits. If this Harriet does not become a superstar the world is badly messed up.
