The Amber are exceedingly rare. Don’t blame Beini. She sends them all out immediately and the same way. The postal system is wildly random internationally these days.

I totally agree with your review that the 456 is the best pen from PenBBS. My amber is stuck in China since 9-30-2020, the fact you have received yours gives me hope mine may be closer to home...constant tracking does NOT seem to push the package along the route. Just ordered 2nd 456 I have clear now ordered winters night,I like the way moonman was in the middle,and you removed it ,I've a 600 in amber they are stunning too.

Hi Douglas, mmmm....my brain is asking me to comment on The Beatles guitar wow that's cool. Last time I was in Abbey Road, I bought some drum sticks but then donated them to my parent's as my parents also love The Beatles too. Now for the pens, I love . Still, I have only one 480, but I may need to change this in the future. haha :) Currently, I am still paying off my Franklin. Christoph model 03 in Ghost with 1.1 Jowo stub. The model 03 might be my current fav pen :)

I'm quite jealous of all your Amber's, as I am patiently waiting for one to come out in the 308 or 323 model but to no avail. As for the best Penbbs pen, I see the 308 as the "best" model that Penbbs has to offer, if you're in the market for a C/C. It's usually the cheapest model, uses a very conventional design, doesn't have any major ergonomic flaws, and is usually very accessible. The 480 is great but the use of a inner cap liner could pose an issue if it were to come loose, plus the bits of acrylic on the end of the cap "could" chip. An anecdote I have is my 480's inner cap came loose even with little use and was creating an issue with sealing, I'm always easy on my pens an don't ever post unless needed, so I'm guessing I got a dud an while I've already gotten a replacement I feel even more confident in the 308 since the cap liner is machined in. A lot of people claim the 308 has an issue with the cap clearance, I thought it was true until I tried it myself and found that this claim is total BS. There's just enough room for any #6 Bock, Jowo, Knox, and Schmidt to fit, an found that none of them have affected performance, so I do wonder where this rumor came from. As for fountain pen day, I got my hands on a Diplomat Aero in the Brown finish w/a Broad steel nib from PenChalet, in total it was only $105 an if you compare it to retail price (which is usually $156) this is an absolute steal. So with this purchase I don't think I'll be acquiring any more pens for the next few months.... hopefully.
I didn't know about FPD until I went on Reddit last night and it was too late. I've been looking at pens on eBay. There's a bunch of Montblancs coming from southeastern Europe at bargain basement prices, and some Japanese pens with no starting price. There's a Falcon soft medium that I'm watching for funsies. With holiday sales coming up I'm in a holding pattern. If I did buy a pen it would be a Penbbs, either the 355 or the 456. Something that can stayed inked for a while. But...I was also wanting to take a chance on a fountain pen with a dip pen mod like Ackerman or Osprey. With the Ackerman I could use India ink. You can get a big bottle of it for the price of a tiny jar of Platinum. The savings! But all I can find are old reviews and stories of email tag and waiting a long time for items. The pens are the maker's side job so that explains it. But they're listed on Amazon now so there might be some buyer protection there. This must be what first world problems feel like. I see how people get stuck here 😄

It is bit of this and that Luc. The 456 comes out on top because of its swiss army knife kind of features; the shut off valve, large ink capacity, ergonomics, it has a clip, it posts well etc. So, for all purposes, the 456 is a great pen. The 323 is still the most ergonomic pen and certainly a lot prettier than the 456.
They show up rarely on the Penbbs Etsy store site. If you see one on eBay it will be at a huge increase in price. When they show up on Etsy, they are sold out in a very short time and they only put up batches of 50 or so at a time.
Doug, buddy, you have a serious hoarding problem. I can help you with that. Just send me one, two or maybe seven pens. No, don't worry about it, you don't have to pay me for this courtesy. On Etsy the OfficialPenbbsStore is the official outlet for Penbbs. You can't get any Amber is a Cat at the moment as they are out of stock. They show up in various models now and then and are sold out within hours. They only make about 100 at a time and then they are gone.

This special acrylic resin from Penbbs was named by Beini, "Amber is a Cat". ASAIK there are at least two other cats; "Niangao is a Cat" and "Tuzi is a Cat". Although I've never seen any photos of Tuzi.

These don't appear to be available anymore. I've searched for about an hour online, even the Etsy site, but nothing matches except some reviews.
