Clearly, you're 100% right about the science. But I also spend a lot of time working with people who are learning Chemistry for the first time, and from my experience as a teacher, I know it's very unlikely that a 13 year-old will have any idea what you mean when you describe an electron as a "stationary wave with its maximum around the nucleus." I know I'm simplifying here and I know you're technically right, but a perfect explanation isn't worth anything if students can't understand any of it.
Nobody is born knowing everything. Everything is all learned. It's not about fast or slow (synonyms of smart and dumb). It's about putting it in a way that the student can understand.
I love it when a TEACHER has these engaging, motivating, and especially instructive abilities that not every TEACHER possesses. I appreciate this during this time where I need to get information for my entrance exam. Thank you, professor Tyler

I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm going back to school in my 40s and your videos are so much clearer than my lectures. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Tyler - your a life saver. I thought I was going to fail my first college Chemistry class because I couldn't afford a Tudor and then I found you - and I watch your videos over and over and it has helped me understand everything- I had to start from the Atom and work myself up to Naming Trans metal compounds but I am finally learning it..... THANK YOU SO MUCH !! I have my first big test on Tuesday and thanks to you I think I am ready..but I will be watching your videos until Tuesday at 5:00 :-)
yeah, that's sort of true, but atoms don't vary in size *that* much. like a hydrogen atom has a radius of 53 pm (picometers), and a uranium atom has a radius of 81 pm. so maybe it would be 1 million vs. 1.2 million or 1.5 million, but it's not like it's gonna be 1 million vs. 10 million or 100 million.

Tyler, Thank you for doing this and your other videos. I felt so overwhelmed looking at chemistry, but you explain these topics so simply and in a way that I can grasp so THANK YOU!
I asked my chemistry teacher what is the unit of atomic mass and how much in 1 gram.. She just ignored my question and told not to ask irrelevant question, whilst now i got my ans in this vdo. Thanks to u
Thank you so much for your video. I took chemistry years ago and now I'm trying to help my daughter with chemistry. I'm relearning chemistry with your help. Excellent awesome video. It would help even more if you could draw it like you're explaining it to a 5th grader. Thank you so much.
Went back to college after raising my children, 15 years later. I don't know what I would do without these videos. You make it so easy to understand. Thank you !
Thank you, Tyler, for helping me educate my grandchildren. I am passing on your venerated name to other homeschooling friends for first rate supplemental help. After 3 videos and 2 books and I still didn't under it. I didn't grasp it..well thanks to you I got it!! I understand it!!! I have a visual and listening to you
thanks for explaining it in such a simple manner... when you can explain in such a simple manner, it means you understood the entire thing much better than others... i say this because some people tend to confuse others with massive words that absolutely are not necessary.
Honestly, why can’t you be my chemistry teacher? Every science teacher that I’ve had explains chemistry in ways that I just can’t seem to understand, but when watching your videos, I understand perfectly after 10 minutes, haha. Love you’re videos! 💞
dude i am watching your vids in 2018 and believe me or not, I was really worried about my chemistry alevels exam whichj is tomorrow and after watching a lot of your videos i am feeling confident now. Thanks and keep this up.

taking a review class for the HESI (its a test to get into nursing school) there is a section on chemistry and my teacher is assuming we already took chemistry... im currently taking it. Lets just say im going to be watching all of your videos she using crash course in class but I think you do a better job simplifying it. thank you so much :)
once again for such a clear explanation and the delivery pace is excellent, I am confident that I will be able to do problems in the exam because of your wonderful teaching, cannot thank you enough, stress levels have dropped considerably. karen

You make chemistry look easy thanks for that🥂.. carbon dioxide and silicon belong to the same group of periodic table yet carbon dioxide is a gas while silicon IV OXIDE is a solid with high melting point.Explain this difference
Wait, so if Electrons are pulled together by a negative charge and by the proton's positive charge, doesn't that mean that there could be a speed fast enough to just rip an atom of it's electrons?
sir please make videos on planks quantum , characteristics of the wave, Electromagnetic radiation, wavelength, atomic spectrum. your videos are awesome. help me out to understand these topics.
I just realized it sounds redundant to assume eletrons don't just fly away from the atom because they are negativelly charged in relation to the positivelly charged nucleus. Instead, I think what we call negative charge is derived from the fact that these tiny little probabilistic stuff are stuck to their inner core, that we call positive. In the end, we just don't understand why it is like that. We just know how this works, once being like this. Crazy hum ! It leads me to think about Heiddeger "dasein" concept of the true self of things, which we'll never be able to experience. By the way, I love your videos, they are so funny and well explained. I like the hand done animations !!
Hello Tyler , this is amazing way to learn Chemistry. You really make it fun and interesting to learn 🥳 Do you have suggestions to learn Physics Maths Biology via UA-cam channel? Do you or your colleagues or friends teach other subjects with similar learning pattern that makes it easy for any kid to learn. Please suggest those channel name if any. I really want to thank you from my heart ❤️ for all the hard work and dedication you have put in these UA-cam videos to make learning easy for the entire world 🌍. God Bless you 🙏🏽
i would like to know what forces the electrons not to be attracted to the protons hence like charges repel and opposite charges attract (in an atom) also explain this
@TylerDeWitt Thanks for the amazing video Tyler, my question is, don't the protons inside the nucleus try to break off as we all know same charges repel?
