I've never had an actual Shred Master but all my favourite distortion pedals have been based on that circuit. My current favourite is the GupTech BouzMaster. It has the ability to be powered at 9-18v and I run it at 18v. I find it adds some clarity and tightens the lows. Great vid Shane. Cheers!
I picked up the Bluesbreaker and Govnor pedals earlier this year, they sound amazing. Was not sure what to expect from the Shred pedal, but it sounds great! Thanks for the review
Very Cool Thankyou Shane. Awesome Demo/Review. This series of Marshall Pedals is SO Cool. I have not tried them though, (never see a bargain used one here lol). I do have 3 of the smaller (normal size pedal) Marshall Guv'Nor Plus GV-2, JackHammer JH-1and Regenerator RG-1. Totally love these smaller series Marshall Pedals .... Little Gold Tanks (Stunning to look at and Sound AMAZING and built Solid). All the Best. Cheers
Marshall went in a new direction from just putting it's label on stuff like headphones and backpacks. They appointed a new CEO (from a shoe company) and a new music liaison consultant (from spotify). I wish that for just one time they could stand inside my shoes... Good to see they've hired some modelling effects techos. Hang on to your Marshall valve amps though. I call mine "Juŕassic Park".
Very helpful demo, Shane - what you played is perfect for getting a good idea of the sounds that this pedal can provide. I have this pedal in my shopping cart, but wanted to see a demo before a trusted source like you before I clicked "PAY NOW." Thanks for convincing me!
The Shred Master Contour has quite a sweetspot. It's somewhere around 3 o'clock, prolly a bit after that. You hear the mud go away and the gnarl kick in. A bit too far and you get the nasal mid scoop. So yeah, the sweetspot is really small. That's with the original Shred Master, dunno if the reissue is the same.
Interesting. Almost all the sounds were extremely muffled except for that short time he put the contour up to that spot. It still wasn't perfect, but I can believe that with a bit of tweaking you could get a decent tone. Based on the sounds in this demo alone, I would certainly not buy it.
@@emulgatorx Being an "amp in a box" you can also get good results plugging it directly into a power amp or when using a DAW, disabling any IR. It sounds terrible pushing the frontend of an amp so when I used mine, my amp was perfectly clean.
Sounds good to me $219 at Found Sound used Marshall do good stuff - I like my Marshall Code 50 - if I could just find a 100w It is like a Marshall smorgasbord in a Box
I love ya' man . . . and you seem to have your feet on the ground, so I will take the time to explain a nuance to you as little ole' me sees it. Your video IS sponsored ! When you are leant a produce, (or given a product), and you mention the name of who gave it to you, that is a non-monetary sponsorship. An exchange was made. It is even worse when a UA-camr says that "I was given this guitar, but I am not being paid, so it is not sponsored" . WTF ! What you did is a lighter version of this falsehood. Having this view makes those who like you (like myself) cringe, accompanied by a sharp sadness. And if those accumulate over time, one generally tunes out, and you lose a fan. This is really meant as a positive development point. If I did not care, I would not say this. You are one of the authentic ones. Happy Holidays, and take care. .:)
This video was shot about 2 years ago in my old studio! I forgot to upload it at the time so here it is 😅

Excellent video! Great tones! I’ve been using Shredmaster since 1993!

I bought the Drive Master this year. Sounds like I wanted pretty much Marshall JCM 800/900 like.
The Shred Master is supposed to be like a JCM900 amp.
Great tones. The Tokai and Marshall are a sick combination. Wondered why the TOkai didn't rank higher on your best of list.

Mate, the Marshall blues breaker is the one you'd enjoy on your board.

That’s the Jonny Greenwood pedal.
