I can't be the only Idahoan who watches these videos because I love my state so much. I thought it was funny how you mentioned the gas station hub situation. Back in high school when we're drinking at someone garage we'd debate whether it was worth a gas station run or not because we'd be bound to run into more people who'd want to follow us back. But yeah the two big things I'd add is 1. We love our guns, don't freak out we'll probably let you shoot them if you ask and aren't weird 2. Seriously, people go missing all the time it sounds dramatic but you should really take it seriously if you're doing any real back country.

Hi there, fellow traveler! I'm so glad to see you loved visiting my state! As a Boise resident, I'd like to add one shock. You aluded to the safety of Idaho. There's a reason for that. A LOT of locals carry a sidearm. It is legal to open carry here. It may be a bit shocking for a tourist to see some guy wearing a gun on his hip while shopping, but it's quite common here. Thanks for highlighting the Gem State, Mark! Come back anytime!
@@carlajenkins1990 We just moved here from Cali, and carrying is definitely not bad manners here. Its kinda funny, but in Cali you could open carry up until 2012 as long as the gun wasnt loaded. I think thats why he or she mentioned that its a bit of a culture shock to see the open carry in Idaho. Because its not considered rude nor threatening.

Fry sauce is not just ketchup and mayo mixed. There is other spices and usually some kind of vinegar base as well.
and a small slice of heaven is in there too!
A lot of times there is creamy horseradish sauce in it to but just barely enough to give it a good flavor.
It's actually pickle juice 😉 I use to make it all the time as a teen working at Zips (best fry sauce recipe) and a tad of mustard

If you're going to go hiking be responsible and realize this isn't the LA hills and if you don't know what you're doing you can easily get lost, freeze to death, then be cached by a mountain lion to be slowly eaten over the course of a week and be the newest Missing 4/11 case. Seriously, people go missing all the time it sounds dramatic but you should really take it seriously if you're doing any real back country.
Also the reason the fry sauce is so good is because we put Dill and Pickle Juice in it. Also if you want a free meal hop into the Potato Museum, there are “free taters for out of staters.”

It is bad manners for anyone but a police officer to carry firearms, openly.
@@carlajenkins1990 We just moved here from Cali, and carrying is definitely not bad manners here. Its kinda funny, but in Cali you could open carry up until 2012 as long as the gun wasnt loaded. NO! You can get ice cream in Idaho with potato flakes. Best stuff ever. When visiting go to Reed's Dairy.
