I was disappointed when this closed - but it was released at the wrong time, really... The credit crunch had just started and people wanted to see shows that would cheer them up such as Hairspray, Avenue Q and such... Think they should give this another go in a couple of years - and give it more publicity... It was sadly lacking in London...
I loved this show as well. So moving. Unfortunately, the only musicals that get produced these days are those that will appeal to chavs/hen parties etc. Any musical with a decent storyline, which isn't jolly jolly or actually asks questions of the audience (heaven forbid the theatre should do such a thing!) will be chucked before it is even considered.

My son was in this musical in London. I saw it 4 times. Was utterly devastated when it was cancelled. I absolutely loved it. ❤️😘❤️
