Excellent tip! I was able to learn strong vibrato by using “Eh-Eh-Eh-Eh-Eh” on the inhale, really focusing on articulating between each pulse. It started really mushy and more like tremolo, but once I mastered breathing from the diaphragm, the thick vibrato made its way into the mix!
@tommyharmonika I wouldn't agree with that, yours isn't complete either in my humble opinion, it would be more like a long eeeeeehhhh not eh eh eh eh eh and while on the eeeeehhhhhhh add some throat job, that way if you really slow it down you'll realize you can keep going with an incredible vibrato, slow fast whatever once mastered.. but go really slow you'll realize the eh ehe heh eh eh isn't good at all Don't take it the wrong way, I'm just giving a real tip because I see everywhere just do eh eh eh which is wrong, when you do eh eh eh you dont have a continuousflow, and you dont have the throat involved.. doing a.throat vibrato... continuous eeeeeh at first then break it in eheheheh with the throat, but it keeps coming from the diaphragm continuously, air never stops coming, so saying start doing eh eh eh eh eh you see why you can never do it right
@@michaelkral what are you on about? The Eh eh eh comes from the throat. The lower the note, the farther back the action needs to take place. Also, most seasoned players don’t use throat vibrato for slower legato playing, they use jaw and mouth. I have no issues doing throat or jaw vibrato, so I don’t know why you’re making claims about my abilities.
When I try these techniques (make a sound like a goat / monkey / coughing / certain words to get that right embouchre), I always get a stacatto effect ... not the smooth wavy vibrato.
@@Raj-ym4cu that's a very common thing to happen in the beginning. Possibly you're contracting your vocal chords a little too much. Throat vibrato is really hard to master, but your hard work will be rewarded!
I do this on my harmonica. I learned in my Native American flute and I just do it on my harmonica, easily.
Good boy, here you go 🏅
Love the names you gave each one! 😆 I'll tell ya, I won't forget them! 🔥
😄 Thanks Mark!
Thankyou for sharing
Hope it helps!
@@tommyharmonika I will practice, this important technique 🙏

That's exactly how it's done. Happy harping! 👋😁

Exelent vibrato! Would you say you are using a throat vibrato?
Hi Adam, yes, this is throat vibrato.
Throat goat you say?

This sounded sweet to my soul, thank you ❤
I can’t seem to do that sound inhaling. Is it different inhaling then exhaling?
Hi Andrew, you do it by using your vocal cords, kind of squeezing them together and relaxing again, then repeat again and again, while breathing in.
Can that be done while bending?
Absolutely. The bend it works best (easiest) on is -3'.
I do something similar, but my way produ es more rapid vibrato
Hi Warren, the more you practice, the more you will be able to slow it down.
@@tommyharmonika thanks brother, stay in touch, I do a slow vibrato, but I prefer the rapid, just me,lol
This guy just got here from the hills of Kentucky, he doesn’t know nothing about the blues
Sorry but what are you doing?
Good lesson
Thanks!

hahahaha the gorilla had me laughing
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Thanks. The hardest part for me is making the transition from tremolo to vibrato. It’s hard to find the sweet spot on some notes.
Tremolo is easily done with a tongue flutter technique
greatest of all times: rock on!
Hey thanks! Glad you like it :)
Just like Stevie!! Great lesson and playing!! 👏
Thank you very much for the encouraging words! 😊
Freaky!!!😮
Sorry what kind harmonica is that? Diatonic?
