As a hardcore Armcherry, getting to see Dax vs just hearing him makes me so happy but its also weird that Monica isnt there lol Also, getting to watch a couple guys who are vulnerable and open just kick back and chat is the best.
Can’t believe anyone, especially with kids, would ever smoke, let alone daily. It’s so childish not having the willpower to say no to your brain’s desires. Just exercise more, have more sex/masturbate more, listen to more music, even eat some unhealthy food, play video games, or other types of addicting activities, if that’s what it takes to quit the smoking, just don’t replace it with drugs or drinking of course. I have no sympathy for people smoking daily, it speaks to such primitive human instincts, that you gotta stay above.
Lex was my favorite part of Smallville and to me was what carried the earlier seasons. I have always loved listening to the episodes with the commentary, because Michael would always kill it with being hilarious and making it so entertaining. When I started to listen to his podcast, I already knew it was going to be great. I have been listening since his first episode and I have no missed an episode since. I'm glad he brought the video version back, and every Tuesday I look forward to being able to listen to another podcast. Thank you Michael.
Michaels GENUINE response to Bless This Mess being canceled was so sweet and empathetic and a sign of a real friend. So sweet to see this two chatting.
Dax is always painfully honest. His interview with Mathew McConaughey was excellent, especially the part where he explained to MM why he is relieved he never had a son.
This feels like two cooler versions of me talking about my personal struggles from a first-person point-of-view, and I thank you two for your honestly and clarity.
Man this podcast is the best. I swear to God. Touching on subjects of handling relationships, money, stress, fears, baggage is rarely seen in podcasts but then throw some humor into it and you have one hell of a time ; ) Also the bit he touched on about missing the past. DAMN man, that is exactly me. Thinking about the 80s. Thinking about simpler times with less responsibilities. Good times. Less stress. Urgh!! Im with you brother. The bit from 1:07 where Michael is talking about yearning for the past, and dax talking about being present, and michael talking about not having to worry about money or doing this and that but just getting home by 6 eating a crappy dinner and going and watch the thing. That is magic! I thought I was the only person who felt like that. Its like hearing the thoughts in my own head. I swear to God, this dude has hit the nail on the head with this podcast. This stuff is golden!
I understand where you were coming from in talking about your childhood and missing "that feeling". I'm 35 and have kids now and miss that feeling of simplicity and innocence of youth everyday. Where my biggest concern was like you said getting home before dark or seeing what mom was making for dinner. It is a feeling you definitely take for granted. Such a great show and I love how I can relate to it so well.
That’s such a delicate topic for people-feeling dumb, learning impaired or stupid😖. Friends of mine have been ashamed to share their histories involving that brainwashing. My mom was absolutely the reason I had a comprehension problem and it has affected the way I’ve assimilated information. But after I began meditating it smoothed out me brains somehow. Thank you for discussing this, it needed to be revisited within🙏🏽.
@@InsideOfYouPodcast I am such a huge fan of you I downloaded your app and I love it I have a request on who you should interview next you should interview Elizabeth olsen she is extremely funny and sweet and an amazing person and woman and a great actress and she will make you laugh so much
Rosey, you are an awesome freaking person man seriously. I'm so glad I found this podcast. I've been listening for 2 months now while I'm at work and it really helps me get through the day. Plus I learn so much about people I've heard of and people I've never heard of. I never skip even if I dont know them. I love it!
I love Dax and his podcast. He is so inspirational especially to others who suffer with addition. I am one of those and thank you both for speaking so openly about both of your struggles. It's nice to know anyone can experience this struggle. Thanks Rosie!
I watched this bc I love all your podcast episodes, and not expecting much from Dax (mostly bc I don't know much about him -- love Kristen tho). But he was awesome, so insightful, introspective and secure in himself. The point he made about the importance of recognizing what increases your self-esteem is something that most stuck out to me. 1.75 hrs flew by!
Hey Michael I'm such a big fan! Thanks for this great podcast you're doing and your work on smallville, me and my brother would sit down every episode to tune in. Really still brings us together in a way to this day. Much love man. Your podcast has gotten me through some tough times this year. Take care
Loved the last time you had Dax Shepard on. I recently listened to the episode when he had you on his podcast. Can't wait to hear what stories he will share this time. Thank you for bringing him back and for always getting the best guests. You are the best and Inside of You is the best podcast. Just saying ^_^ ❤️ Happy Tuesday Rosey 💙
I love the part where they talk about heaven hopefully being like the one thing that you truely love and long for. Ive always been nostalgic about the 90s early 2000 (Im born in 85) and I nver really understood why. Until now
by far my favorite episode so far, got to see dax at the studio filming an episode of the ranch. the mc picked me out of the crowd and once he found out I was from Canada he got me to sing the canadian national anthem. so I have technically performed infront of a live studio audience. ps I absolutely love your Lincoln Dax! keep up the great content Michael!
Wow, I really like these guys. I already love Michael. He was the best part of Smallville and he's an incredible actor. I don't know much about Dax Shepherd, but I like his genuineness and as a fellow squirrel (ADHD), I can appreciate both of them.
Love the Podcast, each episode is unique and so insightful. Keep up the fantastic work. I can relate to alot of what you Michael and your guests talk about and go through or have been through. Thank you, this is great.
I actually got some time today to watch the podcast-which usually I’ll see in parts. Great episode, very easy going vibe. Some good takeaways from this conversation. 👍
Ugh cigarettes...I feel you on those. I told my oldest son it's horrible and he said, "then why do you do it?" I had no rebuttal. I've quit so many times.
I’m a little shocked that None of your Peers did not know or watch the Ranch. It was an amazing show. Definitely work to be proud of Dax. Also a fan of Parenthood. Great episode!
I went to school with dax in milford and I remember him haven't a hard time. It made me wonder y he had a hard time. Now I get it....great show big fan...take it easy...
I can't wait to hear the new album🤘 Michael you and Rob are amazing! I just hope you make some signed albums again with this one. I got the autographed CD saved by the ground and I've been regretting not spending the extra money, and getting the full-sized limited edition album now. I love the CD but I'm going to need the album on this one.
This was an fun and enlightening episode. The money scarcity discussion is interesting, embedded at a young age even for those that are comfortable. Many people have this. Michael's argument about enjoying the time rather than making the money is the flip side. It's the perennial struggle.
Have watched every conversation on UA-cam and love you and your guests. It has helped me a lot listening to your voice and how deep you get with each episode. I would love to listen to all your previous podcasts, where am I able to listen to every one that you have done? I swear there are more than what is posted onto UA-cam.
Have to agree with Dax.. that Warriors vest is sick! So jelly! Rosey, I feel the same way about late 80's, 90's and hell, even early 2000s. Simpler days, more pure, not jaded or tainted with whatever we have now. And films/tv shows were one of a kind.
Thanks for sharing! Loved this one, too. And man, I loved Hit and Run so much. Your part was so funny. Just such a hilarious film. I hope y’all had a great time making it. I literally watch that movie at least once every month. It’s one of my feel good movies that always boosts my mood.
Looking forward to this one. I just love when you two talk. I’m sure it will be wonderful as usual (duh) I feel like I repeat myself...I should probably stop commenting. 😂
When Dax appeared on the Ranch that’s when it got really good. For a show with a laugh track, it’s got some serious real life drama. And I’m not even into the whole “country boy” thing (given I am from Nashville, still not for me) but the show is still very powerful with relevant, real life, family, and cultural issues, that it made me overlook the overall (country boy) premise. And Dax did kill it in his role lol. Thought he was really cool and funny in it. 🙏🏼
Was this recorded before Arm chair expert Day 7? Cuz that episode made me cry. I also had a 10 year oxy addiction, dropped it but still drink every Friday.
Gotta admit. Don’t know a lot about Dax’s personal life ( except he is married to Kristen Bell and is friends with my favorite podcaster❤️). Wondering how “deep inside “ Rosey will get😉
As a teacher I wonder what school would look like for you where you could learn required skills (reading, problem solving etc) but not feel dumb? When you were a kid did you ever think " I wish school was ___"?
Holy Shit Dax has you figured out! Good one(18:00-19:30).I liked learning more about both personalities and Mike seemed more relaxed,Dax not as much to me but very insightful, turned ON,and open, sharing life lessons.
Man i love what Dax said about death, TV shows and EGO. So friggin true. Relate it to anything. There are things alreayd my kids dont even know about because they are a different generation. Things disappear. Things get rebooted. No one bloody cares. We will be as dead as dodo and all that crap about legacy is just ego. It serves us while we are here both positively and negatively. But we are all going out the door. No permanence. 700 episodes of good tv or bad tv. Dax said, at the end of the day all that matters is DID I ENJOY what I did in my life and how much did i get paid? I also agree with what Michael said about getting burn out after achieving a level of success. You push real hard at the start and then you get to a point where you hit X amount of money and you are like, i can't keep this up. I need something that matters to me.
First time I’ve watched a full video episode and the fastest I’ve watched it from release too haha. Love it!!! Looking forward to it!!!
rockin! :)

This entire ep was therapy. You're both doing the hard work, and trying your best to create safety and love for yourselves. I'm here for it.
1:07:10 that was brutality honest, that whole conversation almost brought me to tears. I loved Dax's response. Please have him on again.
