- Sue Evans, psychoanalytical psychotherapist and co-author of Gender Dysphoria: A Therapeutic Model for Working with Children, Adolescents and Young Adults, first blew the whistle about issues at the Tavistock in 2005. Although an extensive report was written, nothing changed. Then, some fifteen years later, Sue Evans brought the prominent court case that resulted in Bell v Tavistock.

Excellent......especially the need to recognise that life for children is complex and often fraught with so many levels of confusion and that we must not medicalise when what is needed is compassion and investigation into the reasons for the children's distress.
Transitioning is not to be started or undertaken before adulthood.
I wish this talk could be seen by people who believe only angry culture warriors could be against transition. Evans seems very compassionate and dedicated.
I especially like her points about building the capacity to bear suffering and how it’s an important to development. When I’m down, frustrated by getting older and health issues, it can help to see myself as part of an incredibly long line of humanity struggling with the reality of being mortal. All my elaborate conscious thought can’t change that.
Behind the trans movement seems a similar forgetfulness about being animals. We live, struggle, and die, with hopefully enough joy along the way.We’re not ideas that our bodies are molded to.
Perhaps hours online living in the exciting glittery bright celebrity world contributes to a dissatisfaction with the real world too?
Instead of posters on their bedroom walls the kids are trying to climb into the computer screen, bringing that world into this.
Let's face it, it's better AND brighter. Becoming one of them must be SO exciting.

Yes right about this. Growing pains should not be medicated or transitioned they are kids who only need to find their way. Doctors are jumping the gun for a quick fix which has disastrous implications for the rest of their lives. Doctors are encouraging complete desolation to these kids. They should be called to account but sacked first. I wish that you had spoken more in plain English and also thanks for mentioning the wonderfully perceptive Kelly jay❤️

You are correct, therapists and doctors are either supportive of this ideology (it Sounds So compassionate and who in the industry doesn’t want to be seen as that!) or keeping quiet for fear of being picked off by the system. It leaves our children unprotected and vulnerable.

There's going to be a world of payback in the next decade or two ... I even see children sueing their parents. I have a 15yrd daughter who hit puberty at peak gender ideology, never once showing signs of gender confusion or dysphoria, she started buying binders and talking about f'in 'top surgery' (infantile term designed to normalise a brutal act). I thought I'd be fighting off inaproproate boyfriends not this mass hysteria madness !!
I feel like there's more and more about this scandal all the time. I really hope it's not just my eccho chamber and that it really is getting out there
I would love to see a head to head (even if it's just "who said" and "did what" and "when") with the many many many women who find themselves on opposite sides of this phenomenon.

Since when is medical care up to doctors? Really? We are talking about young minors -- not older teens, but young ones, and prepubescent children. They cannot possibly give informed consent.
this group refuses to discuss the science, the article Regret after Gender-affirmation Surgery: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Prevalence. It looks like this is a minority group that is responding to the increasing requirements of protections to the trans community based on laws and care. The fact is only 1% of the people treated regret enough to reverse their care. And 99% are not. That means someone here is over reacting.
