They soak up all the flavor are are multitextured. A lot of organ eating from Chinese and indigenous people comea from the idea of eating organs to heal those same organs. Its becoming very popular in natural medicine world in the states (mainly grass fed). Sometimes additional lense brings to focus. Its not always that people just luve the atuff its trying to make the stuff that is good for you get palatable.
Great to see you guys not dismiss something before trying it! not for everyone but the energy is appreciated from people that enjoy those kind of tacos based on where they grew up and what was available (a.k.a. nothing goes to waste). Tip: if you even want to give sesos another try, I would recommend extra lime and a pinch of salt, it gets rid of the bland flavor and adds a nice kick to them, I remember I ate them before I could even process sesos=brains and I'm glad for having been exposed to that growing up, as it is nice to use every part of the animal since it is being sacrificed to satisfy our food needs!
I've never eaten avocado or guacamole because I can't get passed the look of it. That said, there is no way I'd try any of those Taboo Tacos. You guys have more guts than I have. No pun intended, lol.

Tripas Is intestines of the cow tripe is menudo or the stomach of the cow I know they're spelled very closely almost the same but tribe is cow stomach menudo intestines are tripas. But real good taste ñ. You got the proper injections to brains cecils but tripe is not tripas.

my favorites....pastor, bisteck and tripas in that order. where I grew up (Monterrey) we just to buy a small bag of fried beef tripes from the neighborhood meat market as a snack after school... fried tripas are very flavourfull and crunchy.

My daughter loves them too..but did not tell her what meat it was til she was about 11 lol.. she is 16 now and still loves them.. no cesos(brain) or tripas for me .do not like the texture..I make lengua once in a while before it was cheap now is a delicacy.. can go up to $9 a pound..tacos de lengua is a rule you have to put salsa verde!! Well for us..was raised I Jalisco til 11 yrs old..
Im from the north of Mexico and ive never seen here a place that sells brains or eye tacos. Tripes and tongue are somewhat available but they arent as common as arrachera, picadillo or trompo thats basically al pastor meat but the meat is red instead of Orange and many others. Thank God you didnt try eye tacos , that has to be as bad as brain. But well now you know. And well everyone has its own taste buds. Love your charisma and greetings from MTY!

My grandfather was born and raised in Vienna, Austria and we had tongue when I was growing up. Most other countries really like tongue. One more year to retirement and then I'll be able to have lengua all I want! I now live in Montana...beef country, and can I get a tongue? Hell no! @@TheYarbros I think the ranchers sell it for a very pretty penny where they know it can sell at that price. I've seen lengua go for much more than I want to spend. I think you can get it at the carnecerias locally and the big open markets in Mexico where they sell every part of the cow. When I taught in Venezuela, I bought and cooked a testicle (Rocky Mtn. Oysters) and squeezed the juice of the eyeball into some juice we bought for breakfast (no taste). Lots of fun foods out there! Have you had blood sausage? It isn't bad once in awhile. Ciao! Actually I had the same experience with brain tacos but then someone recommended quesadilla de sesos to me and it was like the same stuff but with a crunchy tortilla and some how that make the experience very different
I myself eat Lengua tacos they are tasty especially if its cooked slowly thats where the magic comes in. Being that its a tougher meat it needs to be cooked slowly at low heat for the flavors to come through👍🏿

The preparation of the brain taco was different than the ones that I have eaten. Try them at another Spot in another State. See a different spin on the delicacy.
My goddaughter is from Cambodia so I have tried different things at her house like deep fried bugs, to egg embryos and when my husband and lived in Evansville In, I tried deep fried brain sandwich they serve at the West side Nut club fall festival. My husband would NOT try anything like that. :)
Tripas tacos are the best.. Best when they are fried and crunchy but not too crunchy, the best taquerias know how to cook them... And yes, perfect with a cold beer! 👍
I like brain and eye tacos… but i had to 😂 at parties with the family whenever they had a cow head the brain an md the eyes were only for the grownups. Si when I finally was offered one my brain was sort of programmed to like it because it was a milestone 😂
I’m mexican and tbh am not a fan of these tacos although I’ve tried them various times. Having said that I think that sesos are a little more tolerable in a fried quesadilla (sin queso). The texture and flavor comes together better.

Do I eat this tacos? Sure as heck I do! I get my tripa and cabeza weekly doze, but lengua and sesos I don't often have them because they are more expensive! However I do love me my lengua and sesos. There are other tacos wich are considered taboo tacos even for mexican people, but not every taquería has them. Maybe later you get into an adventure to get some Cuerno (horn) and cartílago (no need for translation) tacos. Have a beautiful week and may God bless you two!

OMG! I hope you dont' get mad cow disease from eating cow brains! You are braver than me. I had some weird tacos in Guayabitos once. Seemed like they had a lot of blood vessels or something that looked like that and were white and squishy like the brains. Not my fav!

The lengua gets the skin pealed off after it’s cooked and it is very easy to cook.

Fish tacos are taboo if you are not in a coastal town. In other words, don’t eat any fish unless it was caught locally.

My goddaughter is from Cambodia so I have tried different things at her house like deep fried bugs, to egg embryos and when my husband and lived in Evansville In, I tried deep fried brain sandwich they serve at the West side Nut club fall festival. My husband would NOT try anything like that. :)
I've been a vegetarian for about ten years now, and the only meat thing I miss is tongue.

Tripas tacos are the best.. Best when they are fried and crunchy but not too crunchy, the best taquerias know how to cook them... And yes, perfect with a cold beer! 👍
My grandma used to make cow brain and scrambled eggs. Similar texture the eggs, so it wasn't too bad that way.
Makes sense our portions were way too big for us....bit off more than I could chew 😅
I like brain and eye tacos… but i had to 😂 at parties with the family whenever they had a cow head the brain an md the eyes were only for the grownups.

I’m mexican and tbh am not a fan of these tacos although I’ve tried them various times. Having said that I think that sesos are a little more tolerable in a fried quesadilla (sin queso). The texture and flavor comes together better.
You can get the lengua in the US at taquerias. They are amazing.

Tacos de lengua are usually chopped up and with no rubbery stuff when I eat them, they delicious though

I’m from Mexico and I haven’t tried sesos or tripa. I do like lengua but I’m not into other TABOO TACOS 😂😂

Do I eat this tacos? Sure as heck I do! I get my tripa and cabeza weekly doze, but lengua and sesos I don't often have them because they are more expensive!
However I do love me my lengua and sesos.
There are other tacos wich are considered taboo tacos even for mexican people, but not every taquería has them.
Maybe later you get into an adventure to get some Cuerno (horn) and cartílago (no need for translation) tacos.

OMG! I hope you dont' get mad cow disease from eating cow brains! You are braver than me. I had some weird tacos in Guayabitos once. Seemed like they had a lot of blood vessels or something that looked like that and were white and squishy like the brains. Not my fav!

Tripas from what I understand is referred to as intestines or guts, whereas tripe is the stomach lining 👍✌️
