Isabella Cat yeah I know how you feel haha but let's look at the situation this way: imagine not knowing about all beauties that kpop and kdramas hide! Imagine not knowing anything of these things at all! It wouldn't be a gain! ....right?
Wtf? I'm Korean and her Korean pronunciation is on point! I on the other hand sound like I went through a cheese grater at Mach 7 while singing bababa sheep. :(
Imma be honest and say that I strated to learn Korean because I like k-pop, but now that I'm learning the Alphabet and grammar - I see how extremely easy it is! Everyone should try it kekekekke
F♡ŔƓ♡♡D♡ĿDƬĪMƐS i already am good at reading and writing hanguel... not bragging tho...its just in my level i already did it like hangul. but i still need tips like i still dont know what it means and i really need tips for this and in reading im still a bit slow any tips for reading fast? and what to do next after hangul and to know what it means???? im actually copying and paste bc i really need tips.. you dont have to reply tho if u dont want to hehe
Same! The Korean alphabet is actually pretty simple, and after just like an hour of studying it, I can read Korean pretty easily now. Whether or not I actually understand it is a different story, but I'm working on it. :P
Hi I'm not a subscriber (yet) however I just wanted to say that you're amazing and ignore the people who are saying negative stuff about your accent. It's natural for someone to have an accent. I'm Korean (so I'm fluent) and I understood you perfectly fine when you spoke in Korean. Also there's a show called 비정상 회담 and it's basically a Korean tv show that has people from all around the world who speaks Korean. It's really awesome and I'm sure that it could inspire a lot of people to learn Korean. Thank you for taking the time to learn our culture! ❤️
I give up on a lot of things which isn't good but I have low self esteem? I don't know but I was watching stuff on how to learn Korean and stuff like that and I gave up because I'm too simple to understand all of it. But when I watched this I encouraged myself to give it a go and I've used your sources and I'm trying my hardest. Thank you! 💜
+BethyDavisXoX Keep it up and don't ever say that you're too simple to understand something because I know you're not! Low self esteem is a problem a lot of of struggle with but I believe that as long as there are people around us that are pushing us not to give up, we won't! So keep trying your best and I AM SURE you will succeed ;) x
Margarita Letitchevski Thank you! you're actually such a big inspiration from a year ago to now you have progressed so much and to that has made me realise people progress as humans and get better if they keep going! thank you for being one of my many inspirations and idols x ***** That's so amazing and schools been really tough and im basically doing the same as you did but just reading that has encouraged me to do what I love and want and that will make me happy as well as trying in school thank you!
+Margarita Letitchevski So far I have gotten all of the 40 characters of 한글, but I don't know where to go from there. Do I just memorize thousands of words and vocab words, help please );.
The troubles mutual like its so confusing where to go from Hangul like do you go back to basics like individual words or phrases urgent help is needed 😂 Christopher Musibay
I just need to expand my vocabulary first. I can read korean but I can't translate it (if that makes sense). Think that'll be my first. Reading, then writing, then finally speaking & listening. I learnt how to read korean by using an app called 'Memrise'. I also used 'How to study korean' aswell. A friend told me about Talk To Me In Korean so I might try it out.
Same! I can read Korean but I don't understand most of it besides really common phrases like annyeonghaseyo and names and stuff like that. I've recently bought Korean phrases flash cards. I'm trying to teach myself Korean. Rap Monster from BTS taught himself English, so it's motivated me to teach myself Korean. If he can do it, why not me?
I started learning Korean some days ago (strict regime, I have to spend atleast 2-3 hours every day) and so far I find myself in nothing but joy. It's an amazing language that is worth learning. Hopefully I can accomplish my goal, which is to become fluent so that I can move and live in Korea :)
OMG I love you. Thank you soo much. I love korean everything korean it's like im obsessed! . I started off watching kdramas then I got soo hooked on how they talk which I found soo cute. And how they say the words it was just fascinating. My first kdrama was Boys over Flowers loved it!! Then I watched IRIS then City Hunters and then I never stopped got soo hooked on them. And like this year in April I started studying korean language on my own from internet but I couldn't find the perfect site to help me. Thanks for the sites I will check them out!!. And then i was hooked on kpop aswell. Love kpop. I love Big Bang 2pm loads of them. Ohh and 2ne1 loads. Anyway thanks for this awesome vid. Gonna check the sites out hope they help me cause I really want to learn korean soo much. I just get all excited when learning it and happy! Haha. I've said waaaay to much. Anyway thanks bye!
I'm so happy that you're so passionate about Korea, I feel like I'm not alone in that hahah Fun fact: Boys Over Flowers was actually my first Kdrama as well :) I hope the links I provided will make your learning smoother and more enjoyable! Keep your spirits up and good luck! 화이팅~! ^^
jewel in the palace is my first, im learning korean cause ill follow lee jong suk, ill be his aid, haha.... watch doctor stranger and i hear your voice sissy
Abel Bane I've never seen Jewel in the Palace but saw I Hear Your Voice and it's a brilliant drama! Was thinking of watching Doctor stranger but haven't come around to it yet :)
Abel Bane I sooo love jewel in the palace. Tbh I saw that one when I was still young but wasn't thaaat much into kdrama. But bof definitely got be hooked!
Wow she's self taught! That's amazing, you go girl! Seriously after I heard a few kpop songs, I wanted to understand the meanings of them, so I googled them. But then I realised that it was hard for me to pronounce the lyrics. I want to learn Korean so that I don't need to translate lyrics and it could be useful for maybe if I travel to Korea. I'm so interested in its culture, cuisine and history. Though, I don't have any Korean friends or any friend that can speak or shares the same sort of obsession for Korea as I do. This video has encouraged me to try and learn on my own, so thanks! And stay awesome! And yes your pronunciation is amazing considering it's not your first language!
I'm the type to get mad and frustrated when I can't learn something and understand it the first time. Then I give up and never try to do it again but I'm so determined to learn Korean. I tried learning the alphabet and how to read but it seems very hard for me. I'm 15. I need to keep practicing but I don't know where to start. Any tips? Thank you
+Soleil Agresta I'm 16,i had the same problem as you.I learn and speak a few languages now,the only thing you really need is to not give up.Korean is harder than other languages but it doesn't mean that it's not beautiful, when you start learning it just put all your patience in it and try to do exercises or read every day,it can get harder or boring after a while..but i think it's worth it,knowing a language also means understanding a bit of someone's culture. It's definitely worth it,just keep trying, don't give up and good luck!
Velo Z Thanks so much. I will try my best to keep practicing. School is in the way right now but when I have winter break I'll have a chance to focus more. I really want to learn it. It's beautiful. Thank you for the advice :)
Personally, how I learned hangul was using the website howtostudykorean to understand the how the letters worked. After I undestood how they worked, I kept a paper with the whole alphabet with me and took it everywhere. I literally just memorized it and when you first start reading, you'll read very slowly. But once you read more, you'll get faster and it'll be easier. Tbh I learnt in about a week and I asked my friends soooo many questions but if you have any questions you can ask me! Also, after I learned hangul, I realized how much it helped me as an EXO-L... Good luck!
+Susan H. To add to my earlier comment, once you learn hangul there's this feeling of happiness and you feel so happy bc you learnt it yourself and it's great. Annndddddd you can sing along with kpop songs in karaoke as well as in general with actual Korean and it's much better than the weird romanization. You can do it! You can probably learn it in a day if you really wanted to.
Melinda Bakker & Pink Seokjinnie I want to be learning buddies too!! I bet that would be super motivating if you would have people trying to learn it with you!! Can I join your group??
Julian OMG SAME! Like I know a tiny bit ("23%") of Swedish, school grade nine level in Canada of French ("24"), Russian (Literally like 2%), and a very very limited amount of German
OKAY SO HERE'S MY STORY: my sister had a friend who was into anime. Yes I know anime is japanese and not korean, hush. My sister then got into K-Pop drama and then into korean songs. I didn't really like k-pop then, but I decided to actually watch a bit of the videos. So my sister was watching Sexy, Free & Single by Super Junior. Yadda yadda, I got into them because I liked their colorful music. It was so upbeat and always made me happy! My sister got me into it further and started doing everything korean with me. My sister got into japanese and I decided I also wanted to learn an asian language! I focused on korean because of kpop and korean dramas. Also I wanted to freak out my classmates by learning another language, heh. -^- I was really confused about what to do, but then I watched this video. I got into it but a few days later I started to give up! I rewatched your video and I figured that if you could learn it, then I could too! So, here I am, already knowing how to read the korean alphabet! I'm having a little trouble translating english to korean, but so far I'm pretty confident in it! thanks a lot cx - mar xoxo
Okay, to be honest, Korean is my seventh language so I guess that's the reason why it didn't take me very long. I haven't actually learned anything except for the alphabet, so it's not like I can brag about it anyway :p
I love your comment about being afraid to make mistakes. That is so true the older we get. Children just go for it and probably learn much faster because they aren’t afraid and worried about their image or upsetting whomever they are speaking to. BTW, this is a very informative video. I’m just starting out on this journey and I am 70! This was a lot of help. Thanks!
There are many factors in teaching yourself to speak Korean easily . One place I found that succeeds in merging these is the Napars Language Learn (look for it on google) definately the best remedy i've found. Look at the incredible information .
I know and speak turkish, bangla, english, arabic, hindi, urdu, spanish, and french and now im going to learn korean. I wish i learn ALMOST all the languages in the world by the time i die.
challengechloe My Korean says that a lot to me when he speaks English. It cracks me up lol. I started watching k-dramas bc of him and realized thats just something they say a lot.
ARGH so it took me maybe like 1 hour to learn hangul, right? But like...... its taking me foreverrrrrrrrrr to actually LEARN Korean. I know some words but how am I actually supposed to learn?
Haha me too! It helps me most to actually speak it to someone who knows Korean. Go make a Korean friend haha. A nice phone app for memorizing vocab is called Memrise, but it doesn't explain grammar.
When I saw your name thing: Park Jimin, I almost had a heart attack... that was until I remembered that Jimin can't speak, much less write in English!! Haha lol
When I saw his name, I didn't think anything of it! Many people live in another country than their ancestors are from. Also, many people have the same name. But I know what you mean, I did second guess myself for a second! JIMIN!!!!
You know Aaron from Nu'est? He went to 한국 to live with his family there and joined the group later on. He knew 0 한글. The reason why he speaks fluent now is because everyone around him speaks it 24/7 and he has his friends to tell him something if he doesn't understand. If you live somewhere where 한글 isn't spoken often, it will be harder because you brain will not adjust and pick up more Korean words in an English speaking environment. So just repetition hard core like her :-)
i lve always wanted to read write and speak korean as well as japanese not only because it would be easier when i watch my kpop groups and anime but because it really intrigues me so much, they're such a beautiful language and culture
it kind of pisses me off reading these comments "I wanna learn Korean because I don't want to wait for English subs!1!1!" how about learning the language for its beauty
There are a lot of beautiful languages. Most people need a slightly more practical reason before devoting the necessary time (and often money) to actually learn one.
i want to learn Korean cause i want to live in Korea i find the country beautiful and i never really wanted to stay in Bosnia(the country i'm born and currently living in), so i always explored different countries that seemed interesting to me i've decided it's korea but honestly-there's nothing wrong with learning the language for kdramas/kpop
lil bitch I'm learning because I want to learn Korean-Spanish-French I find them interesting...and I'm thinking about moving to Korea in a few years too
I remember watching this video like a year ago when I couldn't speak even a bit. I can already have a really basic conversation. Your tips helped me a lot, thank you! For people starting to learn korean, good luck to you, you'll get there!
for those Koreans or the people who already know Korean and are bashing on her for her accent Shame on you! 1) she literally taught her self 2) Korean is one of the hardest languages in the world 3)she's STILL learning. I want to learn but you people discouraged me of being afraid everyone would make fun of my accent my and not care that I spent a lot of my time so I can learn and yet all they notice is my accent. smh you're awful people at least she's trying to learn.
Amazing!! I'm a korean. I was moved your passion! your pronounciation is very greate:) I'm learning language like you but i'm learning Engilsh. As i watched your video, I tried to hear your talking. So I think this video is very useful because you can teach everyone to watch this video and people like me can learn English express :) plus) 발음만 들으면 한국인이라 착각할 정도에요ㅎㅎ 열심히하세요!! 응원할게요!!
That link is still correct but the site got shut down for some reason. I haven't found any equivalent Hangul learning resources so I'm keeping the link there in case it becomes active again.
The sadness levels are too real. I just encountered the same problem as her. I resolved to learn Hangul as of today and was really excited to check it out. :'D
TTMIK (Talk To Me In Korean) do a really good hangul learning book called Hangul Master & this is the only book i've ever used to learn it as it comes with audio tracks; workbook exercises and more AND it teaches you how to read korean handwriting from native koreans as well. I found it really useful especially while i was in the beginner stage ---- Here's the link to the book: mykoreanstore.com/products/hangeul-master-book
Did you have any troubles with learning pronunciation? I'm actually learning Japanese right now and hope to start learning Korean eventually because, well, it's freaking amazing and I love the sound! Japanese pronunciation is SO easy and Korean sounds so different (which is why I love it) But omg, it's pretty difficult and I doubt I'm pronouncing it right. I'll probably just watch a lot more dramas and get used to the sound before I start learning (as I pretty much did with anime and Japanese) It's such an eye opener learning about the world's different pronunciations though! It's like suddenly your world is expanding xP
If you know Japanese, you should have no problems with Korean since both languages have the exact same grammar and word orders, as well as having similar honorific and both have similar verb suffix endings. The languages are so alike that if you use the Google Chrome to translate between the two languages, the accuracy rate of the translation service is about 95% - you can't really do this between other languages (maybe you can do this with Swedish/Norwegian).
karin yew It is easier. I started Japanese in 2012, and Korean in 2014. Thanks to Japanese, Korean has been a very smooth learning experience. It's because the two languages have the same grammar structure, etc.
Dude thank you for making this video, I've been wanting to learn Korean for over a year now but have always thought that I'd need to go to school for it and pay an insane amount of money for it, but I've been looking over the materials you've provided and listening to your tips and tricks and I'm so motivated to try it all out now!! I've been learning Hangul, and you're 100% right when you say that romanization is not your friend. I find it so much easier to read Korean when I'm not looking at the romanization for hints, because it's not 100% accurate to how the syllables are actually pronounced. I'm so excited to start learning, thank you!!!
감사합니다 언니 :) this is really helping me I found some other sites and people on youtube like helping tips but it really didn't help but this really did 'cause you gave me from where and how I could easily learn so thank you
yeah, same here! i've tried other sites and none were as effective as the ones she gave. i learned the alphabet in a little over 3 hours! :) i can already read what you wrote in hangul and understand what you said. i just think that's so cool. vocab and grammar will be the hard part but thats the difficult part in every language.
christindemarie yeah I learned the alphabet quickly too. I knew some letters before I started learning korean 😁Grammar is really hard but not as hard as it is in my language like literally it's so hard that in my own languange I get B's cause grammar and like writing the words correctly is so confusing (I speak Bosnian but Croatian and Serbian is same languange but grammar and word writing is different so it gets mixed up easily )😠BTW good job on understanding what I wrote lol
Anela Love yeah i knew probably 4 or 5 letters from when i tried to teach myself previously, and i know a handful of words just from watching dramas, variety shows, and listening to music. Lol English is my first and only language and there & are still tons of things that are confusing about it to me. but the only way you can get good at something is if you put in the practice. the hard part is getting your foot in the door and staying focused.
christindemarie same lol I learned some letters throughout learning how to write some kpop artist's names 😁I feel sometime that your first language is probably the hardest cause you think like "I know how to speak it, it's my first language I don't need to study it alot or practice grammar" but you actually do ... and when you're learning a new language you're trying really hard to not make mistakes or something and you practice which you kinda don't do as much as in with you first language !!
How the heck has this just come up on my feed? I’ve been watching you for a good couple of years and now I’ve found this!! You’ve not changed much, still gorgeous!!
Guys I started a year ago and I really didnt think I would get anywhere, but where I am now surprises me, I got to the point where is spent my life doing this and I'm grateful, I'm getting better day by day, thank you for convincing me to start Korean
How long have you been studying Korean? I started learning the alphabet a week ago and im kinda comfortable with it and i like writing in it and I know how to say like 8 words. haha :D
guys there this app called eggbun and it is really helpful for me,it explains the words and voices them so you know how to pronounce them and tests you on the few words you learned that lesson
I wanna learn korean because it seems like such an interesting language. I was forced to learn Japanese since my dad is Japanese but now that that’s over, I feel like I wanna learn another language. I found a video explaining how to read korean and the fact that they use 2-3 things to make one symbol intrigues me and I wanted to learn Korean eversince
so hi! im 13 and im so amazed by the korean lifestyle and culture and i really wanna start early getting to know little korean by little but as i have school sometimes having time for my korean practice is limited do you have any advice?
and as for the advice part: study every moment you can, find household object names in korean, write it on a sticky, and then post them around your house on the objects they go with, if you are short on time, run around your house and just recite the korean object/room names as you get to them, do this as many times a day as you can
I have recently started taking up a bit of Korean and I am glad I found you. I was watching some Korean videos without Romenisation and then all of a sudden they start adding it in and I found that it screwed me up so much! So now I look only for resources without it. I thought that was my bad but glad someone agrees!
I am so excited to have discovered your channel! These tips are exactly what I needed to help me learn Korean! I already have the alphabet kind of down, but I am hoping to improve soon. Thanks again and can't wait to see more of your videos :3
안녕하세요! Im 12 and learning Korean! I was wondering if thats early enough to learn it? I want to speak fluent and maybe i should've learnt it earlier like 10? But im hoping to become a English teacher in South Korea :) Hope you see this!
If you haven't already watched it, I recommed the period drama "The tree with deep roots". It is about King Sejong who created and introduced hangul in the 15th century as an alternative to Chinese in order for the ordinary person to be able to read and write and to enable all native Korean words to be written down.
Bravo to you for studying so hard! It always astounds me when people talk about wanting to learn a language but don't do any work into actually learning it! Guess what, you have to study your butt off and study it some more! I really admire your dedication. Well done, and keep going!
Im struggling on how should i understand kpop songs, and as a filipino its so hard for me as hell. and then I found this awesome video sooooo yeah kamsahamnida unnie
you are now my favorite!! I have been streaming all of your videos non stop since last night and all I can say is, you are AWESOME!!. I am enrolled to a korean school right now and you are way better teacher ( sorry mam) :) Good Job!!
So nice and great effort and instruction for others. Hope you'll enjoy more and more with your likings of Korea. Actually your korean looks good and everyone who wants to learn foreign languages may have same problem without much time to practice it.
julian cho That's why I made this video. I wanted to make sure other people out there don't feel like they are struggling all alone. We're all in the same boat ;)
Margarita Letitchevski absolutely agreeing you:)) It's thing of Passion and Energy rather than fluency or skill. Good weekend, dear. Let me check your videos to follow how you're going to do well from time to time.
I wanna learn Korean because of its beauty. It’s fascinating! I like kpop, sure but not wanting to wait for eng subs is not why I wanna learn it/ why I’m learning it
Korean grammar is really confusing. I started reading it (I should admit I just read it fast bcuz I was really curious about somethings and wanted to find them out) and the next day I forgot everything and was so confused. The best way is to go slowly and practice like crazy (which I'm so lazy to do it :|)
***** yes you are right. But kpop, kdramas & specially korean variety shows are best to learn korean. In variety shows they write hangul on the screen so you can learn how to write it easier.
You know what? Most of Koreans don't know grammars of their own spoken language. So don't worry about it. Repeating is the fastest way to reach your goal
동우서 yes, Well it's in any language. If someone tells me to teach him/her my own language's grammar, I can't. Bcuz you naturally learnt it and can use it without thinking to what thing to use. so we should learn the basics in order to can speak the language and make sentences. But beside this knowing many words is the best thing. I always can learn grammar so fast but I can't speak the language bcuz of lack of words.. :(
I saw a lot of comments talking about the people who are learning Korean just to can see something about K-pop by the first time and how it's bad. But anyone forgets how dedicated a human can be when they have a focus or a dream. For example, I start to study English for to see Asian movies (that doesn't have subtitles in Portuguese, but today everything I'll see needs to have English subtitles) and read English fanfics. Today, I cannot be the good one speaking, reading or writing, but I can tell what I want and I can understand what I need. The Korean's learning is the same. Although these people are learning Korean because of K-pop, it's impossible they don't fall in love with the language and the culture (if they won't fall in love, they won't learn a complex language like Korean). So, please don't judge the other's reason to learn a language. :)
I've never had the chance to learn Korean in my school, the only language my school tought us was Spanish even then I didn't take the class. Im a very slow learner and this video helped me. My pearnts thanks I'm crazy because I want to learn Korean but they are willing to help me... or at lest my mom is! I also had taken note from this video so thank you!! I hope this helps me and other people to have a good beginning at the Korea Language! Subscribed!!
Hello Margarita I really loved and enjoyed the way you learned Korean! I especially liked your Korean songs and dances! So adorableXD.. Please keep sharing your tips over and over!
jhope vhope wow you're learning Korean for BTS... and worse just to IMPRESS them? Lol you aren't gonna get ANYWHERE with that half ass reason. Tbh I started learning Korean for KPop, to understand and be able to sing properly etc and TO understand my idols
Wow!! I know you! that is some great video! cant believe i'm trying to learn korean and i find u... wow! We met in tennis issts in vienna! u were super nice!
Most people appreciate the fact that you're trying to learn their language and won't think less of you for messing up so like you said you shouldn't worry about making mistakes.
When I went to the Philippines 4 months ago, I wanted to buy all the Learn Korean and Japanese books in MOA's National Book Store. I was crying when I went out of the store without buying them cause surprise, surprise, Im broke. Lol
If you want to make a Korean friend/have a Korean study buddy/join a Korean study group chat, keep reading!!! -For language study buddies or language exchange partners, I use Hellotalk! I sometimes even call them to practice pronunciation! -For Korean Study Group Chats, I use Kakaotalk! Kakaotalk is one of Korea’s most popular texting/calling apps! If you go to the open group chats section and then search up “Korean” or something like that, many group chats will pop up and you can join any of them! You can also go to the 1:1 chats, which is where you find open chats with only you and that person! -I also use Kakaotalk to attend my online Korean classes! Again, go to the open group chats and search up “Korean classes” and many will pop up and most of them will be free!
I'm totally agree with you. Romanization is a BIG NO bcuz you'll NEVER have the right accent. Now I live in Sweden but I have plans to go to korea in future. Actually I really wanted to learn korean since I don't know maybe 2008-2009 but I wasn't so serious about it and I couldn't but I started to learn hangul and I just started to learn the grammar days ago. Anyway nothing is better than being in a class. I'm learning Swedish now (bcuz I have to study here so I need it.) Though I went to classes I still have many problems. Think learning Swedish & Korean at the same time and also improving your English. That's a big BOMB! 😆
Margarita Letitchevski haha.. yeah xD 3 different languages. XD But yeah I should be strong and learn them fast. XD But, where did you buy that book? What is its name?
I'm so saaaad! I started learning Hangul from the LearnLangs website the other night, and breezed through the first two lessons, but when I went back the next night, it wasn't working any more! It's such a great site! I wonder if they just need to reclaim the URL or w/e? Hopefully it comes back up soon. It made things SO easy.
Cries because i have no korean friends or english friends who share my obsession with Korea
omo! me too! I'm probably the only korean-obsessed girl in my country! Aish..
You people are not alone
Toxic Mari let's create a club lol my life was much easier before I got into kpop and kdrama and kanything...
Hana Rep kpop and kdramas ruined my life
Isabella Cat yeah I know how you feel haha but let's look at the situation this way: imagine not knowing about all beauties that kpop and kdramas hide! Imagine not knowing anything of these things at all! It wouldn't be a gain! ....right?
Learning how to read hangeul is definitely very simple. The problem is that I know how to read it but I have no idea of what it means when I read it.
***** looks like i've found myself a buddy
***** aww you shoudnt
+HaHaHappyXD That's my current level in Russian. I can read Cyryllic, but understand only a few words.
***** dont worry you're not alone! :D
***** thanks for the great tips.
Am I the only one that's not learning Korean because of Kpop and Kdrama

Margarita Letitchevski Thank you! you're actually such a big inspiration from a year ago to now you have progressed so much and to that has made me realise people progress as humans and get better if they keep going! thank you for being one of my many inspirations and idols x
***** That's so amazing and schools been really tough and im basically doing the same as you did but just reading that has encouraged me to do what I love and want and that will make me happy as well as trying in school thank you!
+BethyDavisXoX Really to be honest its what you want to do if you apply yourself you can learn it fighting ! :)
You are a real-life Felicity Smoak..
Smart, awkward at times, and beautiful :D
Nice video, keep it up!
+Isa Andria Ahahahahahah not gonna lie, she's my soulmate :D
Margarita Letitchevski My friend said that you are a cameo in a K-drama, is it true?
+Isa Andria lol really? I didn't know hahah but seriously I wish ^^
+Miriam John What? Felicity didnt die...what are you talking about lol.
my people
I just need to expand my vocabulary first.
IKR SAME
If he can do it, why not me?
literally my exact inspiration to learn korean was the exact same reason as you-- rap monster!! wow, small world, haha
rosie NAMJOON STOP CUTTING THE DAMN ONIONS ALREADY. Like jeez,
I started learning Korean some days ago (strict regime, I have to spend atleast 2-3 hours every day) and so far I find myself in nothing but joy. It's an amazing language that is worth learning. Hopefully I can accomplish my goal, which is to become fluent so that I can move and live in Korea :)
Oh wow 2-3 hours a day is a lot of practice! Keep it up! I wish you all the best luck out there to accomplish your goal!! ^^
Hey, It's been 6 years since you've written your comment, did u learn
Hey it's been 7 year's are you fluent....(ʘᴗʘ✿ Please reply I'm so excited to know
OMG I love you.
Abel Bane Bof*
You're welcome ^-^
Someone! Please lets be Korean Learning-Buddies ! :)
vzn I'm down for that! I'm trying to learn x)
vzn yes i want one too~
Pink Seokjinnie do you have Kakaotalk or Skype or something? ^-^
Melinda Bakker yes! I have Kakaotalk though i don't use it often. My Id is "yennypenny"
Melinda Bakker & Pink Seokjinnie
I want to be learning buddies too!! I bet that would be super motivating if you would have people trying to learn it with you!! Can I join your group??
I think it's fun to just learn a bit of every language. And learn the alphabets. :-)
Julian OMG SAME! Like I know a tiny bit ("23%") of Swedish, school grade nine level in Canada of French ("24"), Russian (Literally like 2%), and a very very limited amount of German
KPop For LIFE Two great minds think alike :-)
Julian that just sounds like being too lazy to put in the commitment to be fluent in a language
OKAY SO HERE'S MY STORY:
my sister had a friend who was into anime. I'm having a little trouble translating english to korean, but so far I'm pretty confident in it! thanks a lot cx
- mar xoxo
Awesome, I also started learning today. Printing out all the pages of the lessons lol
lmao i'm writing it in a journal
I'm to scared to tell my school, I'm a closet kpop fan. I feel like they will judge a lot
안영하셔요i also want to learn korean but not to after watch this video
I learned 한글 in like two days.
Great job! :D
Margarita Letitchevski haha thanks. But even now, sometimes I still struggle with different words.
I learned it in 30 minutes. So what? :)
AKHalex That's so cool! I maybe have taken me longer since I wasn't used to learning different languages. How about you? :)
Thanks!
I just started like today 😂 I don't really know what I'm doing but I'm trying lol
+Ju Hwan Lee haha Cheer up from TWICE
Same xD
can then help us
There are many factors in teaching yourself to speak Korean easily . One place I found that succeeds in merging these is the Napars Language Learn (look for it on google) definately the best remedy i've found. Look at the incredible information .
MDBABY
And? Did you do it?
how do you have the motavation for this??? I barely have the motavation to get up in the morning how do you just go learn a language im so jealous wtf
I know and speak turkish, bangla, english, arabic, hindi, urdu, spanish, and french and now im going to learn korean. I wish i learn ALMOST all the languages in the world by the time i die.
Do you wanna die? was said alot in boys over flowers which is the drama which has pushed me to start learning.
challengechloe My Korean says that a lot to me when he speaks English. It cracks me up lol. I started watching k-dramas bc of him and realized thats just something they say a lot.
SAME! That's the first sentence I learned and my first word was thank you
ARGH so it took me maybe like 1 hour to learn hangul, right? But like...... its taking me foreverrrrrrrrrr to actually LEARN Korean. I know some words but how am I actually supposed to learn?
Haha me too! It helps me most to actually speak it to someone who knows Korean. Go make a Korean friend haha. A nice phone app for memorizing vocab is called Memrise, but it doesn't explain grammar.
All of my friends are Korean... Everyone thinks I'm Korean too XD
Most people need a slightly more practical reason before devoting the necessary time (and often money) to actually learn one.
who the hell put you in charge of deciding why people need to want to learn Korean?
i want to learn Korean cause i want to live in Korea
i find the country beautiful and i never really wanted to stay in Bosnia(the country i'm born and currently living in), so i always explored different countries that seemed interesting to me
i've decided it's korea
but honestly-there's nothing wrong with learning the language for kdramas/kpop
lil bitch I'm learning because I want to learn Korean-Spanish-French I find them interesting...and I'm thinking about moving to Korea in a few years too
Panic! CuzKimTaehyungIsHot omg btsssss
I remember watching this video like a year ago when I couldn't speak even a bit. I can already have a really basic conversation. Your tips helped me a lot, thank you! For people starting to learn korean, good luck to you, you'll get there!
Is no one going to mention how beautiful this girl is?
GUURRRRLL UUU FINEEE...
21guitarworld seriously tho 😍
Exactly
for those Koreans or the people who already know Korean and are bashing on her for her accent Shame on you!
I was moved your passion! your pronounciation is very greate:)
I'm learning language like you but i'm learning Engilsh. As i watched your video, I tried to hear your talking. So I think this video is very useful because you can teach everyone to watch this video and people like me can learn English express :)
plus) 발음만 들으면 한국인이라 착각할 정도에요ㅎㅎ 열심히하세요!! 응원할게요!!
최예리 정말 감사합니다~!! :D
Margarita Letitchevski저도요!!
(Thank you for your reply! :D)
hi! on your list of resources I clicked on the link for the korean alphabet learning, it does not work, can you give me a correct link please?
It's back up! :)
Nina Karakos thanks for telling me!😁😊❤
When she said Busan, *nosebleeds everywhere* JUNGKOOK AND JIMIN! :D
(θ‿θ)Army 💜
Did you have any troubles with learning pronunciation? I'm actually learning Japanese right now and hope to start learning Korean eventually because, well, it's freaking amazing and I love the sound! Japanese pronunciation is SO easy and Korean sounds so different (which is why I love it) But omg, it's pretty difficult and I doubt I'm pronouncing it right. I'll probably just watch a lot more dramas and get used to the sound before I start learning (as I pretty much did with anime and Japanese)
It's such an eye opener learning about the world's different pronunciations though!
Same! I'm taking Japanese and I really want to learn Korean too! :)
Is Korean easier after learning Japanese? Really is it true?
karin yew It is easier. I started Japanese in 2012, and Korean in 2014. Thanks to Japanese, Korean has been a very smooth learning experience. It's because the two languages have the same grammar structure, etc.
for +emtee 22
if korean easier after learn japanese, is japanese easier after learning korean?
Anela Love lol yes, exactly!
no korean friends, nor korean centers are next to me ( i mean in my city ) EVEN KOREAN RESTAURANTS AREN'T HERE !!!😬😡😡😡😡
+soumia a.a.b Can i help you?
+박승아 yes please 😊
+박승아 omg teach me koreannnn
soumia a.a.b You have kakao talk id?

+Pizza3Pie Hi fellow ARMY :>
Me too, who's your bias??
+ARMY EXO-L Jungkook♡
im not allowed t choose a bias i made that rule for myself each time i choose one every other member becomes a bias wrecker
When did you start learning? About how long did it take you to become ‘fluent’?
Guys I started a year ago and I really didnt think I would get anywhere, but where I am now surprises me, I got to the point where is spent my life doing this and I'm grateful, I'm getting better day by day, thank you for convincing me to start Korean
How long have you been studying Korean? I started learning the alphabet a week ago and im kinda comfortable with it and i like writing in it and I know how to say like 8 words. haha :D
1 month
same here.
I'm already learning lol
Korean is hard especially because I speak English fluently
+seohuli kim korean is an easy language to learn
guys there this app called eggbun and it is really helpful for me,it explains the words and voices them so you know how to pronounce them and tests you on the few words you learned that lesson
ME i learned from eggbun too😂
its been a few years already from watching this and i always come back just to see how i progressed just like how u did. ILYSMMM
IDont get it, I can read hangul but i dont understand it PLEASE HELP ME!!
Wait but kimchi is always free
Unfortunately not in London :/ I heard it's free in restaurants in Korea
+Margarita it is in America too. Oh well, I guess you could always make it yourself 😅
Most restaurants offer side dishes for free in Korea.
side dishes are freen in the hk too 😊
hi carat :))))
I wanna learn korean because it seems like such an interesting language. I was forced to learn Japanese since my dad is Japanese but now that that’s over, I feel like I wanna learn another language. I found a video explaining how to read korean and the fact that they use 2-3 things to make one symbol intrigues me and I wanted to learn Korean eversince
so hi! im 13 and im so amazed by the korean lifestyle and culture and i really wanna start early getting to know little korean by little but as i have school sometimes having time for my korean practice is limited do you have any advice?
as a part korean person, I can say, please don't become a koreaboo😂😂😂😂
and as for the advice part: study every moment you can, find household object names in korean, write it on a sticky, and then post them around your house on the objects they go with, if you are short on time, run around your house and just recite the korean object/room names as you get to them, do this as many times a day as you can
+beauty queen15 thank you!!❤
I only knows saranye means I love you,is it
Sharyfa Juma you spelled it wrong, and it's not even in hangul
i love your personality lol!!!
and what about your personality maybe is not good
kriti tomar bruh
I have recently started taking up a bit of Korean and I am glad I found you. I was watching some Korean videos without Romenisation and then all of a sudden they start adding it in and I found that it screwed me up so much! So now I look only for resources without it. I thought that was my bad but glad someone agrees!
Wait where is the website that you studied korean?
How many years (time) did it take for you to where you are know? And how much korean can you speak?
I am so excited to have discovered your channel! These tips are exactly what I needed to help me learn Korean! I already have the alphabet kind of down, but I am hoping to improve soon. Thanks again and can't wait to see more of your videos :3
안녕하세요! Im 12 and learning Korean! I was wondering if thats early enough to learn it? I want to speak fluent and maybe i should've learnt it earlier like 10? But im hoping to become a English teacher in South Korea :) Hope you see this!
Agreed! Thats actually an advantage when your're younger.
Same age as you and Im also learning korean....
How long have you been studying Korean? This was such a helpful video!
If you haven't already watched it, I recommed the period drama "The tree with deep roots". It is about King Sejong who created and introduced hangul in the 15th century as an alternative to Chinese in order for the ordinary person to be able to read and write and to enable all native Korean words to be written down.
I’m trying to learn Hangul at least to try and convince my parents to let me study in Korea next year
Were you able to convince your parents?
For learning korean 감사합니다! But you should learn the history of korea, the korean culture and the korean folk. not just k pop or k dramas ... / 😡
Absolutely, that is why I study Korean to learn more about the culture :)
Bravo to you for studying so hard! It always astounds me when people talk about wanting to learn a language but don't do any work into actually learning it! Guess what, you have to study your butt off and study it some more! I really admire your dedication. Well done, and keep going!
What about ㅆ, ㄲ, ㄸ, ㅉ, and ㅃ? I've learned hangul but I haven't found anything on those
those letters are basically just doubled you just emphasise the sound more they are in the alphabet but in singular form
+Tuff Kookie Kookie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Lauren Kellohen Yess .3.
Tuff Kookie :3 Walrus face bro
+Lauren Kellohen XDDD
Im struggling on how should i understand kpop songs, and as a filipino its so hard for me as hell. and then I found this awesome video sooooo yeah kamsahamnida unnie

I'll be your kpop/kdrama Bestie lol
we should be best friends!
Tina T Blaze G-Man Exostan Forever We are now friends :))) Haha
you are now my favorite!!
Let me check your videos to follow how you're going to do well from time to time.
you know what's weird? two of my best friends loved kpop for years and I had no idea.
Sabzy Tabzy ria, sumayya. two OF my best friends
Sabzy Tabzy dude, how come you reply to all my comments. I'm slightly scared
nice
I wanna learn Korean because of its beauty. It’s fascinating! I like kpop, sure but not wanting to wait for eng subs is not why I wanna learn it/ why I’m learning it
Korean grammar is really confusing. I started reading it (I should admit I just read it fast bcuz I was really curious about somethings and wanted to find them out) and the next day I forgot everything and was so confused.
The best way is to go slowly and practice like crazy (which I'm so lazy to do it :|)
Yess, slow pace and repetition is the key to learning languages :)
Robert Horn haha... I'm always better in grammar too but I always forget words. :/
동우서 yes,
Well it's in any language.
When you said "Wanna die" in korean, I immediately remembered when Kim Woo-bin said it in Heirs
U r so cute💜 your Korean pronunciation is very good😘
You did a great job! Romanization is evil.
Thank you! I agree haha
This was super helpful and your really entertaining to watch. Very inspiring and had great tips, no more romanization lol!
Topp Dogg got me here 😄
yeah pretty much
How??
Emma Francis literally same
princess naomi How?
KPopCanadian well like if I'm going to marry my love one day I should at least speak his language
Hello Margarita I really loved and enjoyed the way you learned Korean! I especially liked your Korean songs and dances! So adorableXD.. Please keep sharing your tips over and over!
YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL
She has a great smile and funny humor :3

Most people appreciate the fact that you're trying to learn their language and won't think less of you for messing up so like you said you shouldn't worry about making mistakes.
I study English and Korean, I have many apps korean and English
I am from Brazil 🇧🇷

I noticed your favorite spoken word is "actually"😆💗💗💗
Oh wow your language learning story is diverse hahah Good luck with all your studies! You can do it!! :D
Margarita Letitchevski haha.. yeah xD 3 different languages. XD
But yeah I should be strong and learn them fast. XD
But, where did you buy that book? What is its name?
Emmily To haha really? But do you know it's really hard to live there? :(
Which city do you live? :D
Emmily To haha... xD yes I have kakao, line, wechat, whatsapp & so on. XD
Which one do you want? :P
Emmily To add :P

I'm so saaaad! I started learning Hangul from the LearnLangs website the other night, and breezed through the first two lessons, but when I went back the next night, it wasn't working any more! It's such a great site! I wonder if they just need to reclaim the URL or w/e? Hopefully it comes back up soon. It made things SO easy.
