When there was actual atmosphere at football grounds ! Nice to see my team getting a mention with Kenny Stroud hitting that thunderbolt although before my time sadly .
Hell of a wig on that referee! 😁Most of them cut pretty sad figures back then though. Some quality on show in that West ham v Derby game and it was a bottom half of the table clash too. Love these videos as it reminds me of my football mad youth.
Teams around the South coast and Midlands Will have been kicking themselves in overlooking Such A Calm Studied Central defender with competition winner John Jordan. Such A shame that he Is A big arsenal Fan....
Bad season for Spurs was that. They did beat us at Old Trafford though near the start of the season. If memory serves, they got battered by Derby 8-2 at the Baseball Ground. Dave Mackay was Derby's manager too.
50/50 Brooking while James had his feet wrapped around by Taylor. I think both were spot on back then, but nowadays the shoulder one would be given as a free kick.
Makes me laugh watching these old football clips. When was the last time you saw mud on a pitch or a player's kit? You won't see it now. And why? Because probably 95% of today's players would refuse to play in mud, because they're nothing but a bunch of big girls' blouses. And you can bet the kit sponsors would be up in arms: How dare you get mud on the kits we pay millions for!? Just another couple of reasons today's football is not even worth watching.
Thank-you! A really family show!
Great goal by Leighton James. The end of an era for a talented Derby side.
Yes had a great 7 or 8 seasons then plummet till about 86 ish

A team clear out for West Ham at the end of the season, some things don't change, we need one again!
we played the ball forward in them days..
Remember as a kid Sunday lunchtime , ah memories.
Billy Jennings had a good first 2 to 3 yrs at WHU before injuries, loss of form and David Cross's arrival in Dec 77...
Cracking build up for Rams second goal!

You are correct. It was Derbys first win of the season Mid October and ironically Mackay left Derby a few days later
Hi to who runs this channel it's been a while is there any more coming soon
That Wolves fan trying to get John Richards's shirt off him, an early shirtlifter?
Very unpleasant!
Great stuff, anything on the Horizon on this channel?
did not realise the comedian Mick Miller played no 10 for Spurs
Even today he still plays.😁
Bit of a kerfuffle in the tunnel at the end of the West Ham game.
Spurs were lucky to get nil and got relegated that season...
I was Gutted as a kid when Burnley sold Leighton James to Derby.
