Appearance without substance. Everything is a hallucination. So this moment right now is a hallucination. It's always been a hallucination. That's what reality is. In psychology hallucination means perception without any input or data. So traditionally if you go to a mental hospital and you're telling them that you're seeing monkeys running around with stripes and polka dots, they'll say you're hallucinating.

(And by the way talent will only get you so far without hard work.) But many people refuse to believe talent exists because they don't want to accept two things. They don't like the idea that you can't be anything you want to be, no matter how hard you work, if you don't have the talent for it. And they don't like the idea that some people are born better than others. But it's all true--talent is a thing. Just like innate personality traits are a thing. The fact that all these young kids/adults are utterly stunned shows you decimation of music programs and not just classical, all kinds of music across cultural boundaries. Exposing kids to just one instrument has their minds blown. I was a vocal student for many many many many years and it still makes me smile when kids hear genuine music mixed in with their own generation students and they act like it has been hidden the whole time. No matter race, creed, location music is a beautiful universal language everyone can love. The biggest disappointment is how schools across the US are dropping music departments hindering future people from being able to express this kind of beauty. We can not allow music to turn into another unspoken language.

@@angryroy6277 Haha, let me rephrase, since the impression I left you seems to be the opposite of my intention.
My point is that the listeners featured in this video value cultural relevance and familiarity over technique. I think this is the case with most people. It was not written to slight them.
On technical skills, Rob's playing is anything but basic. Whether pop or classical, he plays with masterful musicality and "effortlessly" injects his own flair. People can play anything and make it sound dead or alive. Rob never delivers a stillborn and that's what people appreciated, to go back to my original comment.
In case I misread your message: Maybe a couple of the listeners began with some apathy, thinking, "Great... another boring classical player," but Landes blew that smugness straight out of the water every time and they ended up enjoying his gift to them.
