There is a lot of things that need VA in FF14. Just imagine how much better and the humor that would get through if the Hildibrand quests were VCed. But still, that fight was probably one of the funniest fights I've ever done in an MMO. I wish they had used those Duty Actions for Zenos Fight.
I was really sad, I was hoping for a multiplayer instance that we could repeat like the Monster Hunter crossover, but instead it was 20 minutes of story and a (albeit really badass and fun) single unrepeatable instance :( I cant see why this was delayed for 3 months
The thing about voice acting in FFXIV is that, well, there's 4 different languages they need to get it done in. If one language can't have a character voiced for some reason, the others can't either. For example, Yugiri had no voiced lines from in parts of post-Heavensward following the disappearance and death of Sian Blake, her English VA at the time. Or, on a less dour note, why Pipin has less overall voice lines, as his Japanese VA, Nobuyuki Hiyama, is quite an expensive person to get on for voices. I get wanting more voiced stuff, but there's just so much stuff to do that with that even if costs weren't an issue, there'd be a ton of data that's JUST voice lines.
It still feels pretty lazy but you raise a fair point, though the dialogue here is already so similar to FFXVI's that it feels like they could've just repurposed it, especially since FFXVI has dubs in several languages as well (to my knowledge).
@@SylvaGardeniaIt's not as lazy as not doing it at all, in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with repurposing assets where you can as long as it doesn't diminish the quality of the product too much. It was a cool duty regardless, but seeing a version with voice acting here definitely takes it up a notch.
Dude shut up Don't say lazy when they have so much stuff on there plate already like an expansion coming in 2 month, I hate when people like u calling devs lazy, plus this only a short temporary event it doesn't need to be voiced. @@wormhunter6340
I told my husband there was a voiced scene, but turns out that I wanted to hear his voice so bad I heard his voice in my mind and convinced myself it was voiced .
the immeasurable disappointment when i didnt hear ben's voice in the event, I knew deep down it was too much to ask cause they never have in the past but I thought "if any event would - it'd be this one right?"
As soon as “to sail forbidden seas” started playing, I lost my shet and could barely get through the fight from excited tears. This event was definitely one of the best ever.
As Sylva mentioned elsewhere in the comments, it's not that they need to pay Ben. They could probably even use his lines for free. It's finding 3 more VAs for the other languages FFXIV is in.. and there's no way they'd be as good anyway.
@fluffyfang4213 thats not how these contracts usually work though. Without seeing it or knowing the details, its safer to assume that he would need to receive royalties for reusing the lines on a different title
The people of that region have got to have some form of ptsd with how often Ifrit is summoned in the story and that now he came back not only with a new form but there are two of them to boot.
Clive's voice actor was amazing. It's a shame they didn't do voice acting, but to be fair, they have never done voice acting for crossovers. They didn't do it with Nier, they didn't do with FF15 either, but I'm thankful that Clive looks like Clive. Noctis looked like generic WoL with his shirt on 😭
Clive looks...bad 😂, but not as bad as Noctis. That was terrible. You know what is funny? They ported Kefka's model from Dissidia and he looks gorgeous, yet they can't do something similarnwith Clive 😂
This i can understand when not importent sidequests has no voice acting or some more irrelevant dialoges. But the missing of VA in some more importent questlines like the normal raids etc is really oof.. Thats also the reason why Orobonne is for me the best alliance raid in the whole game, the fights are rly spicy for _Casual Content_ cool Mechanics and then the good or almost god Tier voiceacting of every Boss.
Yeah even the msq would be nice and job quests. I don't think we are asking for much! Especially as they used our sub money to help fund 16, which I'm honestly not interested in as its gone a bit woke. ESO has complete voice acting except for your character, makes it much easier to follow the story
Square enix loses millions of yen (dollars) on other ip's.. but can't afford to pay for voice actors for a couple lines on the game that its pretty much keeping them in business 🤦🤦

Crazy how good Clive’s character model looks in this game. Hopefully the visual upgrade we’re getting is one step towards looking as good as clive
