RIP CHICK. MY INSPIRATION SINCE FROM THE START OVER 50 years ago. People emulate and develop from those that inspire and chick was my inspiration as a piano player. His name in my home was as common as any other word spoken from my mouth
Incredible how Victor plays that single note with such speed. He's not using up and down strokes. (Up strokes only) I love his technique. I love John's technique also.
Personally prefer Patitucci just because he seems to be more focused on playing interesting lines. I saw him live at the Detroit Jazz Festival (Thats where the shirt in my profile picture is from) and that was one of the most surreal moments of my life. Shaking the hands of your heros is an unimaginable event, but it is even better when they are genuine good people. His solo on the Chick Corea song 'All Love' from the first electric band album remains one of my favorite bass solos of all time.
Patitucci got that amazing saxophone melody and Victor is a fearless master of space and time .. gotta see this whole show now (I saw Frank Gambale stalking about)
Any Place that choses Beauty over Function is a theater of disgrace to all musicians and artists. If i wanted to listen to Victa and Pat in a garbage can, I would. Great Video! too bad it wasn't in a better venue. Hey Wiltern Theater: Sound Treatment 099
Wooten plays so groovy even when soloing that other bassists end up in shredding. Here John Patitucci (god of bassplayer) or for example Federico Malaman. Wooten "kills them all" with his own brilliant musicality. Well that's my opinion. Nonetheless Patitucci is one of my favourite bassplayers
Anybody knows the bass guitar Patitucci is playing, I believe it's a yamaha, hollow bodied...just want the model name if it has any. It's really beautiful
Why doe's it HAVE to be a"DUEL"?? A "Conversation" Maybe?? It AIN'T, (Shouldn't Be about Biggest Dicks or Guns!!) And NO,I'm Not a Female!! (But THNX for the Share!!)
I'll Agree,(Caveat), Most come to Music as an Athletic Event...So,Unfortunately, the REAL meaning is Obscured by POSTURING, And, Unfortunately,to get "GIGS", the Majority of us "Working" Musicians, (Whether we Like it or Not, are Reduced to this Sht!!)
Wooten and Patitucci making music together alongside Chick Corea and Bela Fleck. What's not to like? Major respect...
A whole album between these two would be insane. I think they would compliment each other so well like salt and pepper.

There are no losers. Just a winner. The fans.

Two solid Bass Players with different techniques. If you ask who's the winner, it's Chick. haha..:)
Solid???
Two Bass greats that THANK GOD are still with us today!
2 of the most amazing bass players of all time.major respect and appreciation to them both.peace and love from the UK
So much virtuoso and love at the same time!

Wyatt Siefert I haven't found anyone else that scales the neck like john... he's one of a kind and under appreciated. Amazing bassist!
Wyatt Siefert i agree it
I like them both. Why choose?
I’m with you man. Much rather listen to John. Love his counterpoint and dissonance.
Patitucci got that amazing saxophone melody and Victor is a fearless master of space and time .. gotta see this whole show now (I saw Frank Gambale stalking about)
Victor is always smiling - beautiful with monster technique and sound
Wow!!!.. both sound incredible!
Love it !!!
Herois...monstros....lendas....chame como quiser!!!!!
Patitucci kick ass
different style! they are so cool!!
They’re talking bout how great the game was last night

Hey Wiltern Theater: Sound Treatment 099
Pattituci is amazing
J.P. is a F... solid rock wall nothing can break it
Carlitos Cuba Well said!
Patitucci el mejor !!!!
Patitucci is the best to me....
what bass that JP uses ? kinda TRB but dunno the variant
2 master...
My heroes !Luv it

Patitucci monster picking
Anybody knows the bass guitar Patitucci is playing, I believe it's a yamaha, hollow bodied...just want the model name if it has any.
It's really beautiful
It’s a Yamaha Custom Hollow Bass, the shape is inspired by the Yamaha RBX line. Really a beauty!
which bass model is this patitucci is using? It is not his semi hollow, but something different that I can not find anywhere
It's the second semi hollow, more like and Electric One, that Yamaha made for him
Patitucci Italy!
Why doe's it HAVE to be a"DUEL"?? A "Conversation" Maybe?? It AIN'T, (Shouldn't Be about Biggest Dicks or Guns!!) And NO,I'm Not a Female!! (But THNX for the Share!!)
Patitucci is a great music...Wooten is a good bass player...
Tow Monsters ...
not enough to decide...chord changes not challenging enough
Wooten
upper register vs lower register.
I like j.p...slowly but sure.not emotional
Victor
Patitucci
So often Wooten is facing off with one or even two less strings than his competitor and does twice as much with them.
Jeff Berlin’s solo on “grooving high” better that both of them. Mr Berlin really knows how to navigate chord changes
I’m tired of wooten’s slappy-snappy approach to bass pkaying
Pattituci better than victor wooten
victor wooten suuuuuuuuucks
That was horrible.

If you think that was horrible something is fucking wrong with you.
wooten groooves much more, so he wins
NO one "WINS" Pal...It's called "MUSIC"!! (Opinions are like "ASSHOLES"!! EVERYONE HAS ONE, CHECK??)
You mean you like wooten’s groove more. Both are amazing players and both know how to groove. Different...
all i hear is mimimimi
