It's so funny, like it's not funny, but it's funny. So that "I will not court Penelope Featherington" scene happens in the book, but in the book, his mother and brothers have been bugging him to get married and Penelope just kinda comes up as an option and he's like "I'm not gonna marry her" and she overhears, but she knows like the outburst wasn't really about her, it was about him not wanting to get married to anyone. The show made it so much worse, he said "I would never DREAM of courting Penelope in your WILDEST FANTASIES"?!?!! That was so pointed and he deserves to suffer for that next season and I think he will.
I actually think it's gonna really shake him to find out that he's hurt her because I think a big part of who he is is, (1) He has a bit of a hero complex, we just saw him high on himself after "saving" the Featheringtons from Jack's schemes, he wanted to save Marina from the Featheringtons prior to knowing about the pregnancy, he comes to Pen's rescue in the pilot when Cressida spilled her drink on her dress, etc. and (2) he likes being the guy that everyone likes and he likes being someone that can put people at ease and to have tension with Pen is gonna make him really unsettled, I think. I even wonder if he's gonna feel like he's not worthy of her for what he said? But this has definitely knocked Colin off that pedestal Pen's put him on for sure, now make him suffer Pen, he deserves it lmao
Sorry, I feel like I always leave essays in your comments lol, but I'm literally currently making a reading vlog where I'm rereading and annotating Polin's book and speculating about S3, so I have so many thoughts happening rn that I need to tell everybody about lmao
We love reading what you have to say!! It's so interesting to see it from someone who has read the book!! We might have to read the books ourselves!! It would be really interesting to see how things will shake Colin in the next season especially after what he said about Pen. It's so interesting to know that it didn't necessarily happen that way in the book and that Pen wasn't exactly upset about it. We're really excited to see how much stress we'll go through in season 3 !!!
@@KetsiaKeren Honestly, the books aren't as good as the show imo lol, but as a former film major, I think Bridgerton is a really interesting case study in adaptation, so I really enjoy reading through that lens
