  • SolidWorks Student Help - Advice on Modeling a Tennis Racket - Sketch Picture - Style Spline
Consider the Sketch Picture, Style Spline so that it conforms to the image in the back ground, the image in the background can be suppressed so that one only sees the model - and can be unsuppressed when needed. The Style Spline can be used to conform the to the image in the back ground by moving the points that define the spline, when the model is done then dimensions can be assigned to each of those style spline points to fully define your sketch (and to keep and sketch entities from moving around later). Also consider that instead of 2 style splines that would define the thickness of a feature - that needs to be consistent - that one would define a spline then offset it - in this this instance it would be the outside spline offset to the inside. Turn reference geometry model lines into centerlines (so SolidWorks won’t try to resolve them, don’t stack lines or the model will not solve. Then define the points on the style spline, dimension then round the number, which will make the sketch entities black, tug on blue points to find degrees of freedom, it would also be better to separate your components into different features with their own sketches then combine all the features at the end. Fully define your sketches as you go - correct errors as you go. A master sketch or design sketch may work also - everything refers to that design sketch at the top of the feature manager.
