    Didn’t even know they made plastic razors! Would love to see you port the supercharger in the future! Keep going with these series!👍

    I think a lot of us lsj guys would like to see an install for your turbo swap kits and dyno’d or hp tuned

    250k miles on my 06 ion redline, she definitely is due for some loving and needs a rebuild all around, I'm sure my blower has seen better days 😂

    What works very well is to lay a silk thread on the mating flange , no sealant needed. Air-cooled guys know what I'm talking about.

    Great video Tyler. Do a porting video next and then put the car back on the dyno to see if you gain any extra hp with the ported blower.

    Wish this video was out six months ago before I did mine. Great video as always.

    Excellent. The one disclaimer I would add is to be carefull with the pulley and the threads the belt grabs onto. One little chip in a groove and you will get that horrible chirp sound.

    Im no professional on this subject, but learned something about these superchargers i shoulda found out years ago. I have an 02 Nissan frontier with the (i believe m62) could be an m90..they look very similar.
    Regardless, ive owned the truck about 7 years now and and the superchargers always had a slight rattling sound, it wasnt near as loud as this one sounded in the video.
    Well i was changing the brake booster last month, also desid3d while in there to change the driver exhaust manilfold do to a small crack (typical for these) i did the passeger manifold the year before minus it had a giant hole.
    Well i spent alot of time last month looking over my entire truck and noticed the two vacume lines to the supercharger bypass (one goes to bypass, one goes to back of manifod) both lines go to the SC actuator solinoid.
    Both my vacume lines were rotted in half (totally chopped inhalf)
    Well i replaced the vacume lines and now it idels perfectly (didnt before) and the rattling noise totally went away.
    I did lots of reading on these SC's and seems that the slight rattaling noise is normal if the SC is not bypassing its air normally at idle.
    The whole bypass thing and how it works is failry complicated and hard to explain so i wont.
    Im still trying to understand how the bypass actuater and solidnoid works on these things.
    Whats weird to me is my truck had good power before i fixed this issue and it still has good power now..
    Makes me scratch my head how..
    My actuater arm seemed to move the same 12 o clock to 9 when hitting throttle from idle now as it did before... but now the noise is gone.

    Please tell me ..the remnants of this coupler didn't make its way into my intake valley?

    • @motov8-garage832
      @motov8-garage832 Рік тому

      How could it, it's a totally sealed off section from the blowers blade and intake side of the supercharger.
      No way for pecies in the front section to make there way to the back no madder how small, or the oil in there would immediately be sucked into the engine..

    i just rebuilt my supercharger at the start of the month and i noticed today that is appears to be leaking oil so im going to crack it open and reseal it, with the loctite 518 how long should i wait before reinstalling on the car for use

    • @gbrunner24
      @gbrunner24 5 місяців тому

      Loctite's recommendation for cure is 4 hours, but I usually wait at least overnight before getting the engine back up to temp.

    The real question is, is it going to damage the blower if not replaced or is it just a function and noise issue?

    • @ZZPerformanceChannel
      @ZZPerformanceChannel  Рік тому +1

      If your coupler were THAT bad that it cracked/disintegrated it could cause issues, but it's mostly a function and noise issue.

    When u rev up will the rockk noise get louder or go away?

    • @ZZPerformanceChannel
      @ZZPerformanceChannel  10 місяців тому +1

      Generally goes away. The coupler is easy to swap, and good preventative maintenance. If you're troubleshooting a noise you can always remove the serpentine belt and start the engine to eliminate all the accessories to narrow down where the noise is coming from. If the noise goes away with the belt off then you should start troubleshooting the various pulleys and accessories (including the supercharger).

    Can this be done on the vehicle or do you have to remove the supercharger

    • @ZZPerformanceChannel
      @ZZPerformanceChannel  2 роки тому +1

      It's much easier to do with the supercharger removed. You can swap it with it installed but you'll need our coupler swap kit.

    • @ZZPerformanceChannel

      It's a Cobalt SS, they come supercharged from the factory in 05, 06, and 07. We have had customers supercharge their Cavalier though!
