I loved singing this song as a French Camp choir member back in 98' and still love hearing it and singing it. Linda Spenser was a great, gifted, and truly passionate teacher and a beautiful person. She is now enjoying the harvest with Christ in heaven. Privileged to have known her and even more, Christ! Thank you for sharing this recording of her song and His words.
As a lifelong student at French Camp, I had the pleasure to be one of the many young ppl taught by Linda Spencer. She was a wonderful vocal coach. From first grade forward, she was my mentor and later, my friend. I remember the excitement on her face the very first time she presented this song to us. Mine was the first chorus to ever have the pleasure of singing this song, along with more songs to come. Linda was extraordinary in every way and devoted her life to Christ and instilling His message to us through her music. She was and is loved by many. I look forward joining her in eternity with our Lord and singing with her again some day. She would have loved your performance of her creation.
Shannon Myers I remember her teaching me this song as well. I still have my songbook from working with Ms. Linda Spencer at FCA. And I recall countless hours playing the violin with Mr. Hill and still communicate frequently with my old dorm parents, Mr. & Mrs. Nasekos. Cherished memories for sure.
Psalm 139, this is one of my most favorite passages of Scripture. [When I went to Vietnam as an army nurse, my companion verse was this: "If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Thy hand shall lead me and Thy right hand shall hold me."] I want a choir to sing this at my funeral, to include sign language...so wonderfully beautiful!
Lyrics: O Lord, you have searched me and known me; You know when I sit and when I rise. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I go from Your presence? If I rise on the wings of the dawn, If I settle on the far side of the sea - Even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, surely darkness will hide me, And the light become dark all around me - Not even dark is dark to you, Night will shine like the day. And if I rise on the wings of the dawn, If I settle on the far side of the sea - Even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. So I’ll praise You, praise You, Lift up my voice and I’ll praise You, Lord. Father, I praise You, praise You, Praise you, Lord. You created me within, You knit me in my mother’s womb. I praise You for I am fearfully made; Your works are wonderful. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, If I settle on the far side of the sea - Even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.
we've kinda fell i love with this "anthem" that whenever a special occasion is celebrated the choir sing wholeheartedly as tears expressing a happiness.. a bliss.. for over twelve years since it was introduced. Congratulations for a very excellent rendition!!!!
In 1989, I did a flute descant to the choir at my high school on this... it was hard to get under that melody at 'ppp' so they could sail. It remains a fave passage.
How excellent! I have used your video to learn this piece for the choir I have just joined. Thank you so much. I hope you are all still singing and Linda Spencer is still conducting.
Awsome Job! Ms.Baptist All State Choir! That’s how we do it in Ms.

Looks like more singers than hearers!
Linda A Spencer composed the song. I thought I'd heard a worship team do this song, but I can't find it any where. Any ideas?
Hello, could you kindly share the score and rehearsal material for this song?
