I've Always thought he was a very creative lyricist. Side note: there will always be a holes who's main hobby is to log into their computer and talk sh1t. People must be bored with the above comment that was made.
I've also been a fan since 9, but 1989. I loved the Stevie Wonder cover Higer Ground. Then Blood Sugar Sex Magic came out when I was 11 and I'm still listening to it.
Looking at the haircut Anthony has in the video for this, and that John is back, it makes me feel that we'll get an album around the style of BSSM...which I'm fully up for
@@dyr234 it does, but I was speaking about the fundamentals of the music composition. Vocals are arranged in a very traditional Celtic folk, and the guitars have a 70s folk rock, like George Harrison flavor.
Just wondering what’s up with the pirate accent? Love RHCP! Need to listen to rest of album. But, the accent thing is annoying. Immediately can tell John Frusciante is back. Undeniably he is back! Hope the rest of the album doesn’t include the accent. Am I missing the reason for the accent? Anyone else notice?
All the sudden Anthony is from Ireland? The slight auto tune here really takes away from the character of his voice on what is a really mediocre song for these guys.
Exactly!! Thank you!! I heard it too! John is back & love RHCP but, this accent. I got to listen to the rest of the album. I hope it doesn’t include more of this rrrr matey, lol, accent.
He lost me with the stupid lyrics that immediately lead to a geographical location simply for the point of hitting a rhyme. I used to love these guys. Was looking forward to this album. I hope the rest is much better.
To me, they seem more clear and less distorted like they always have in every other past recording. It's interesting to hear this side of his voice. He's also getting older.
lyrics do kinda suck haha. and kiedis' vocals arent anything impressive, not a sound engineer or anything but i think the autotune is a bit too much on this one. frusciante is great on this. nothing mindblowing, he already did that YEARS ago. but whatever, its an alright song and will ferrell on drums is awesome. flea is too low in the mix. oh well. i'll still listen to the album when it drops. these guys are legends even if their current music isnt on par with the crazy shit they were putting out 30-40 years ago.
@@iommic7981 I will still listen to the whole album and give it a chance. A lot of times their singles are crafted to be hits and the rest of the deep cuts are good.
i hate to admit it, but BORING! All these Fruciante slow, sappy, jangly guitar tunes that are supposed to be carried by Kiedis's singing all sound the same and try my patience. if i was to write a song to mock everything lame about the Peppers, it would sound a lot like this! ...and i'm a Peppers fan from over 30 years. They gotta play with energy or it's just not any good anymore. We've heard you try to sing, now get back to jamming for cryin' out loud! I knew this would happen if they brought Fruciante back. He just gave up after '91...
I disagree man. I love Frusciante. Californication was fucking awesome and had the energy you were talking about. And Stadium Arcadium is a great blending energy and melodic. But if it isnt for you it isnt for you.
Nah speak for yourself i dig the slow peppers like scar tissue u can actually hear the message, if u want something that might be for u check out by the way
The slow songs are honestly really deep and sometimes it's not just about the lyrics that matter the most. Some people like to feel to the music. And I understand what you mean with the energy. I'm a metal head I listen to alot of fast paced music. But this band is special the guitar the base drums singing. It's all in sync and it's so nice to just chill and relax to such a nice band that isn't so worried about providing that much energy. Some folks appreciate music for what it is and they listen to it whole heartedly. They feel everything to it and in my opinion it's the slower songs that hit the hardest. I love the red hot chili peppers!!
As a lifelong peppers fan. I've been waiting for this album to drop and I'm underwhelmed by this single. Seems like AK has listened to all those who said he can't sing and its f'd his delivery. BSSM was amazing don't change it.
2022, who is still a fan after all those years, just like me?
Yesss! since 2006 🤘🏻😀
Quite the accomplishment!
me...since 1997
I would like to see these guys make a desert rock album. That would be a trip for sure
this has like a mixture of vibes from both by the way and getaway albums
AK's ability to write as if he has always talked about me, he always manages to do it and never like now I needed it, I needed their return. ♥️
Kindergarteners can write better!! Just jumbled up half sentences. Good lawd

Not too bad. I like it. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
Not too bad? Im offended lol this shit is a hit!!!
@@RurouniKenshinShinta I'm sure it does, but it's an ok song. There will probably be better songs among the 16.
Welcome back Red hot Chili peppers 😝
They've never really went away... but welcome back John!
Can't wait! Remember when Californiacation came out I was 9 RHCPfan since 6 I'm 32 now

This just made my day, you guys rock, keep the tunes rolling in, and I like the hint of Hey Ho mixed in
So much love for RHCP! Yes!

RHCP releases a new song, I'm happy
Gives me some Beatles meets Celtic traditional vibes.
Def, that "shanty voice whirl"
Sounds nothing like the Beatles the Beatles suck this doesn't.

Oui oui oui oui
F**************ck yes

Why does Anthony Kiedis sound in parts of the song half Irish and John Frusciante is a fucking guitar god

I can’t tell any difference between this song vs how Anthony usually sounds. Don’t know why his people are making reaction videos about his “accent.”
He lost me with the stupid lyrics that immediately lead to a geographical location simply for the point of hitting a rhyme. I used to love these guys. Was looking forward to this album. I hope the rest is much better.
His vocals are so bad on this

It's not a bad song but John's solos are meandering at best. His contributions are kind of fucking lazy. Kind of directionless.
It's not good despite my hopes. Frusciante of course is excellent on guitar but where is Flea? He's so low in the mix. The lyrics are awful.
