This album run that Logic has been on since No Pressure and coming out of retirement has been consistently good. Vinyl Days was Logic getting back into that heavy Boombap element, College Park being a bit of a origin story to his Young Sinatra mixtape days before getting signed to Def Jam and now with Ultra 85 being the prequel to The Incredible True Story. @@gioootalks4850 No Pressure was a great album, Idk if I'd call it a 10/10 but it was def one of Logic's best. I still prefer Under Pressure and The Incredible True Story tbh, And if we're including mixtapes, Welcome To Forever is probably Logic's catchiest & Most enjoyable material to date.
I liked this album front to back, logics pen game was a step up, production was rich and well constructed, features all killed it, logic was more articulate about his vulnerability and sonically this album was very cohesive. Could’ve gone without the skits and i think the voice acting was not well performed this album, a few tracks were just alright but there wasn’t a single “flop” in the whole tracklist. 7/10 for me.
Been a Logic fan since Under pressure when I was just entering college, & his last few projects have been much better objectively he’s had his highs and lows but his skill & lyrical ability is undeniable. Also on a personal note he’s helped me a lot with his message of positivity and being yourself especially since I deal with OCD, depression instrusive thoughts etc, he’s helped me get through a lot he’ll always be one of my personal favorite rappers.
He is saying if you're online leaving hate comments it's probably because you went through something traumatic. Leaving a comment criticizing is different than people who send death threats and stuff.
This is the best take i’ve heard on this album so far. It’s the same thing over and over with Logic. Lyrics, concepts, flows, bars. And his core fans love it. And that’s okay!
ending is so funny cause I thought the same thing LMAO it's like when you hear MF doom say the N word, it's only after a few seconds you go "wait, did he just say that?"
He is a vibe there are some string songs on the album and some not so strong songs and thats ok . he doing his thing having fun with it big ups logic :)
The second he started liking the first track I was like “okay hes coming back to liking Logic” and then he goes on and says he repetitive on this track. Damn.
As a longtime logic fan, bros killing it. Ultra 85 is an incredible album and a lot of his music is pretty great. I’m a nerd (movie/music/comics) though so I respect his kind of music.
I don't really get the thing about repackaging, does Future rap about new shit at all? I feel like this is the case for the majory of rappers, talking about the same stuff but with better, smoother writing as time goes on
It’s the lane of music they belong to. The vapid rap is understood as vapid rap & I and many others go to it for that reason. Logic on the other hand, who attempts conscious/lyrical rap repackages those ideas with the same talking point on different instrumentals without that same replay value or finesse as a Future/Thug/Wayne etc
This is s major false equivalence. The comments above describe it well but I'll also add that Logic doesn't just reuse topics he also raps about them the exact same way even using the same lyrics. This is weird because I've been a fan of Logic for 10 years and have noticed that fans kind if flip flop between acknowledging the obvious flaws in his writing and acting like Logic hate is unfounded.
@@ShawnCeeLIVE you're right you have a point with the style of rap Future and them make imo tho Logic went a step (if not a big step but still) deeper on the tracks that have a specific message like Innerstellar, In Retrospect and Peace Love & Positivity, his writing and beat selection has improved, and his ability to make the more melodic singing parts not as atrocious on supermarket maybe we'll get the perfect Logic album with the same messages in 10 years again lol
But nothing about logic’s subject matter is interesting enough to want to hear over and over again. How many times can we hear him shout out his influences, say he’s happy, not making music for the haters anymore, out of retirement, say he has anxiety in the most simple way possible? Like Shawn said he’ll talk about these same things over a boom bap beat and that’s been the formula the last 4 albums.
@@intixhqhis writing has not improved in the slightest: quote me 3 good bars from the album. His pen was so much more slick in his UP days and in his mixtape days
I remember he teased this album way back on his second album I think. I forgot about it until it dropped and I really like it. The production is really nice with some bops as well. Overall solid album. Logic seems a lot more comfortable and confident on Ultra85.
My bf likes logic, i'm not really a fan but he isn't terrible. Def overhated, I used to hate on him but he's more tasteful and artistic than I would care to admit.
This that Lupe in 06 this that Lupe last week was a bar I enjoyed. Being from NC and around the same age as logic when he started picking up steam back when everyone was in high school dropping mixtapes everyone that liked underground hip hop thought he was going to be next up it was him and Mac when Mac miller was still doing $13 shows before he went on tour with wiz doing best day ever. I like seeing bro win he really put that work in
Very surprised by this album, ever since he got back from his retirement, logic got much better. he's layed down the 3 greatest projects of his career wit vinyl days, college park and now ultra 85 which might just be his best project yet. the future's looking bright for him, hope he keeps going strong. he may have had a bad last decade but he's shining in this new one, props to him 👍.
3:11 Saying the album is the same content discredits your opinion though. The only song that was similar was Deja Vu (obviously the point of the song), everything else is different. If you want people to take your channel seriously then you gotta be accurate
I agree with everything you’re saying here and you’re completely right. People that don’t agree are the Logic fans that are just okay with him repeating everything he’s already said hundreds of times. If you enjoy that, that’s great. You just really like Logic. But a lot of people are rightfully tired of it. Especially since his rapping has gotten wordier than ever
i’m the biggest logic fan i know, but FINALLY someone gives an honest review. this was supposed to be the holy grail of all albums and it sounded like the same repackaged stuff he’s been doing all the time from recent years and the beloved characters from TITS were just a vessel to carry that message instead of their own unique selves. i think you nailed this review, and i used to hate your logic reviews lol.
The skits I agree should have all been their own tracks, but he did a significantly better job of seperating skits from the tracks and making them interesting imo than he did with College Park, and he was able to rap on a track for like 6 minutes or whatever without him stopping to just talk like on all his other 7+ minute tracks. I also believe what Logic was trying to say was, if you don't fuck with him that's fine, but if you're going out of your way to hate the dude, you've got problems and were probably beaten as a child or whatever.
My only problem with this album is I felt like I heard it before his flow is still nice but idk for me I can go without an album without a Tarantino reference or anime or pop culture. I get it but it’s not for me
Boy. Wow. This is literally the best album BY FAR that logic has ever released. To say that he’s appeasing his fanbase with this album, man that just seems like a dumb thing to say. I’m mean this album is amazing. I don’t even like logic or really care all that much about rap but I have it a listen because I heard it was good. And it’s good.
As a logic fan I can do without the skits but it was a good album. And hopefully logic doesn’t end it here. I agree I would like to see some good concepts. Ultra 85 is a good close out to his incredible true story and to whatever else.
I am not really a Logic fan but gave "No Pressure" and "Vinyl Days" a try and really loved those haven't really tried this one though and I don't know if I want to.

Listened to the whole thing and it's just like his early work in that it's mostly solid but there's huge misses dead in the middle of it. Example being you bugging me like zz zz on teleport lmao. Still loved it. Right up there with his first two albums and i couldn't be happier that he came full circle after a bunch of awful to average albums for years
I’m enjoying it so far it’s fire but he still gets preachy and annoying at times especially when he’s listing off all the people that have died I know he’s not trying to but people dying is irrelevant to a person having issues. That job promotion that he trivializes can take a person from living paid check to paid check to actually being able to take a day off and see their fuckin kids. And again I know he didn’t mean it like that but he just has points throughout this album where it’s like wtf is bro yapping about lmao
couple things dawg 😂 1. i dont know what yall listened to... but Like 70% of the skits were separated.. 2. that bar about his haters being molested was WAAAAY misinterpreted. He's talking about niggas who literally hatewatch him, not just dudes who don't fuck with his music. There are dudes who don't fw his music, then there are dudes who literally go to everything he posts just to shit on him for no reason... which is why he said "you dont fw me why you watching me then?" Niggas really shat on him for having a conversation with his dad and crying. Those are the niggas he's talking about.. 3. Every song on this album was different. Again, I'm not sure what you heard, but im not sure what you expect him to talk about neither 😂.. he's a feel good, uplifting rapper who simply chooses to be positive and real, instead of rapping about the bitches, killing, drugs and money.. and yall don't fw that i guess 🤷♂️. I get it. He not the only rapper who chooses to stay in the same realm when it comes to subject matter. Do Future, Drake, Cole, NBA Youngboy, nearly every Drill rapper, and nearly every female rapper not talk about the same shit every song? Hell even Kendrick do it sometimes 4. Yall talk about him constantly "trauma dumping" like that's not something that Kendrick, Cole, Nas, Mac Miller, Eminem, and literally every other lyrical rapper has done, and say he need to just RAP... He goes off and literally drops shit like Paul Rodriguez, Mission Control, and Favela, where he's literally just rapping his ass off and yall say he cosplaying as a rapper. I dont get that 😂. Choose one Overall, everybody entitled to they opinion. Idk maybe you just gotta listen to it more, or maybe you just simply dont fw Logic no matter how he raps. But I think you trippin trippin thinking this not a MASSIVE improvement for Logic.
its not cool to say you like logic anymore its so clear that he enjoyed it but has to be dismissive of it on stream 😂 nice comment tho ur literacys on point
Logic gets so much unnecessary hate in my opinion, he tells story's on a whole different level. I understand the corny comments but let's be honest he goes hard.
I think you hit it right on the nose, Logic hasn’t grown conceptually in years. I enjoy the majority of his production, dope. But he sounds the same all the time, he regurgitates the same talking points all the time. I think he saturated his own catalog and as a fan I’m just tired of hearing the same stuff with a different instrumental.
Dope album but wish he wouldn’t.. 1. complain in his raps about criticism he gets from fans or critics 2. constant trauma dumping on his songs about his family issues.. it always feels like too much information for the listener 3. constant name dropping/glazing of other rappers Logic, just focus on good word play and explore other themes instead.
artists dont make art to make the audience comfortable. him ”trauma dumping” is justifiable as he is making art just like any artist. if this was marketed as background noice for a corporate environment or something, it would be a problem. nothing is tmi in art
#2 is not an issue whatsoever. You have artists like kanye who spoke about their nearly fatal car crash, martial problems, and child custody issues. Or Conway getting shot and nearly being paralyzed. Or Denzel Curry being touched at a young age. Or Kendrick who constantly talks about his personal life. All artists and more who talk about their trauma and go way more in depth than logic.
bro LET THE TERM GLAZING GO. shit is generally corny asf. ur not glazing if ur showing love, ur not glazing if ur complimenting someone, ur not glazing if ur talking about someone or something that inspires u. niggas be so afraid to talk positively abt something because its "glazing"??? let that shit go bro

Exactly bro, was expecting some mind dazzling stuff but it was so plain and simple. Intro track was the only decent track for me.
No pressure was a 10/10
@@gioootalks4850 No Pressure was a great album, Idk if I'd call it a 10/10 but it was def one of Logic's best. I still prefer Under Pressure and The Incredible True Story tbh, And if we're including mixtapes, Welcome To Forever is probably Logic's catchiest & Most enjoyable material to date.
@@butterschunkmcdonalds5333 I should say 10/10 to me lol, but agree
I liked this album front to back, logics pen game was a step up, production was rich and well constructed, features all killed it, logic was more articulate about his vulnerability and sonically this album was very cohesive. Could’ve gone without the skits and i think the voice acting was not well performed this album, a few tracks were just alright but there wasn’t a single “flop” in the whole tracklist. 7/10 for me.
Im still on that new Denzel Currry.
Hell yeah
Fuck yeah
Faxxxxx
Great year for rap so far, and more exciting things to look forward to
Hell yea, Curry might have AOTY
Been a Logic fan since Under pressure when I was just entering college, & his last few projects have been much better objectively he’s had his highs and lows but his skill & lyrical ability is undeniable. Also on a personal note he’s helped me a lot with his message of positivity and being yourself especially since I deal with OCD, depression instrusive thoughts etc, he’s helped me get through a lot he’ll always be one of my personal favorite rappers.
In my opinion this is better then The Death Of Slim Shady 🤷🏾♂️
Death of slim shady was ass
Yeah that album wasnt great. It had its moments but I'm probably never returning to it
@@ryan7102you didn’t cook
That’s not ridiculous
@@ryanmitchell2774 he did tho.
He is saying if you're online leaving hate comments it's probably because you went through something traumatic. Leaving a comment criticizing is different than people who send death threats and stuff.
It actually is his best work in years tbh
This album has been so fuckin anticipated for years..
Why is it odd when Doom says it? Genuine question.
@@whyaskmenoely25 From what I know, he just said it very rarely. Especially compared to other rappers.
You scared to spell out the full word?
What y'all think about Favela?
it’s so fucking fire like the beat is so addicting
2024 and Welcome To Forever is still Logic's best project
Undeniable or UP imo.
Man I really loved that lemonade flip
He is a vibe there are some string songs on the album and some not so strong songs and thats ok . he doing his thing having fun with it big ups logic :)
Logic basically dropped Under Pressure: Definitive Edition
The second he started liking the first track I was like “okay hes coming back to liking Logic” and then he goes on and says he repetitive on this track. Damn.
This is a fair critique.
This album got me listening to hip hop again in general not just logic’s music. He’s definitely made an impact this this new project
As a longtime logic fan, bros killing it. Ultra 85 is an incredible album and a lot of his music is pretty great. I’m a nerd (movie/music/comics) though so I respect his kind of music.
Bro even fantano liked this lmak
@@ShawnCeeLIVE you're right you have a point with the style of rap Future and them make
imo tho Logic went a step (if not a big step but still) deeper on the tracks that have a specific message like Innerstellar, In Retrospect and Peace Love & Positivity, his writing and beat selection has improved, and his ability to make the more melodic singing parts not as atrocious on supermarket
maybe we'll get the perfect Logic album with the same messages in 10 years again lol
Once upon a time in Hollywood, Innerstellar and city in the stars are easily my favorite tracks
Logic should just do these kinds of albums Vinyl days and such and this
This man makes me question if he’s even listening to the same album we are
As someone who isnt a logic fan at all im starting to fall in love with this album
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED
At this point I already know if I like an album Shawn's gonna hate it
3:11 Saying the album is the same content discredits your opinion though. The only song that was similar was Deja Vu (obviously the point of the song), everything else is different. If you want people to take your channel seriously then you gotta be accurate
I really liked this from interlude until prolly half way through, logic is growing imo I'm here for it
I agree with everything you’re saying here and you’re completely right. People that don’t agree are the Logic fans that are just okay with him repeating everything he’s already said hundreds of times. If you enjoy that, that’s great. You just really like Logic. But a lot of people are rightfully tired of it. Especially since his rapping has gotten wordier than ever
Always look at reviews but in all honesty I gotta thank logic for being my gateway to hip hop/Rap and I’ll always appreciate what ever he drops
It has a must hear on AOTY, imo you should do a proper review on it.
I’ve never been into Logic but I heard this album and actually liked it.
i’m the biggest logic fan i know, but FINALLY someone gives an honest review. this was supposed to be the holy grail of all albums and it sounded like the same repackaged stuff he’s been doing all the time from recent years and the beloved characters from TITS were just a vessel to carry that message instead of their own unique selves. i think you nailed this review, and i used to hate your logic reviews lol.
So he went from B- to B+
This dude is such a colossal hater,
Under pressure and the incredible true story is goated
budokai hd remastered the vibe of dis album
Oh shit... Logic on the channel in more than a cameo mention?? Let's see how this goes 👀💧
I agree.
i loved the album , one of his best works , i think ppl just hated for no reason
yo, using the term 86 is actually clever as fuck here big ups shawn
Homie just described Apple products, call of duty, literally everything in life.
And it applies for logic as well when you think about it
The skits I agree should have all been their own tracks, but he did a significantly better job of seperating skits from the tracks and making them interesting imo than he did with College Park, and he was able to rap on a track for like 6 minutes or whatever without him stopping to just talk like on all his other 7+ minute tracks.
He thought Logic was gonna 86 but he 85'd
Album was insane easy 9/10 for me personally
I am not really a Logic fan but gave "No Pressure" and "Vinyl Days" a try and really loved those haven't really tried this one though and I don't know if I want to.
Would like this album a lot more if it was like 10 minutes shorter. But i do like it
so overhated. ultra 85 is FOR logic fans, especially since it’s been teased for like 10 years now. production is great and the album is very solid all the way through
Fantano just gave a light 8!😅
It's an upgrade from his last projects like Shawn Cee said. More polished doesn't mean everyone will like it cause the content is thesame
This album has some of the best production Logic’s ever rapped on, but man he just refuses to progress as a rapper and it’s so frustrating🤦🏽♂️.
What do you want from him
@@bobguy1960progress ? I haven’t liked a logic project in a minute but his rappin and content and growth I can definitely hear you tripping bro and this is from someone who didn’t like college park and thought everything after TiTS was mid.
@@bobguy1960 To take a break from rap like Kendrick be doing and come back in a few years with something new and refreshing to rap about instead of rapping about “I’m bi-racial”, “fuck all my haters” etc. His fans are scared to admit it, but Logic been sounding so burnt out these last few albums.
@@CoolChris16 what song did he sound like Kendrick on this project and ultra 85? If anything logic has found his own sound at this point.
@@BrianJr_he said to take a break like Kendrick and come back with new topics to rap about rather than projecting the same thing about his haters, being out of retirement, shouting out his influences each and every song
Under pressure is still one of my favorite albums of all time
I learned a long time ago that I can see why people like him, but Logic in any form is just not for me.
Listened to the whole thing and it's just like his early work in that it's mostly solid but there's huge misses dead in the middle of it. Example being you bugging me like zz zz on teleport lmao. Still loved it. Right up there with his first two albums and i couldn't be happier that he came full circle after a bunch of awful to average albums for years
Ultra 85 is so 🔥🔥🔥Logic is a Problem and underrated...I wonder what joe buddens got to say bout this album
The thing about the album is that most of the songs sound the same 44ever stood out to me tho
I have to agree. I honestly would've liked the album more if the content was as varied as TITS. Coming from a long time fan
This album is way better than tits.
logic is the call of duty of rappers
I’m enjoying it so far it’s fire but he still gets preachy and annoying at times especially when he’s listing off all the people that have died I know he’s not trying to but people dying is irrelevant to a person having issues. That job promotion that he trivializes can take a person from living paid check to paid check to actually being able to take a day off and see their fuckin kids. And again I know he didn’t mean it like that but he just has points throughout this album where it’s like wtf is bro yapping about lmao
couple things dawg 😂
1. i dont know what yall listened to... but Like 70% of the skits were separated..
2. that bar about his haters being molested was WAAAAY misinterpreted. He's talking about niggas who literally hatewatch him, not just dudes who don't fuck with his music. There are dudes who don't fw his music, then there are dudes who literally go to everything he posts just to shit on him for no reason... which is why he said "you dont fw me why you watching me then?"
Niggas really shat on him for having a conversation with his dad and crying.
Hell even Kendrick do it sometimes
4. Choose one
Overall, everybody entitled to they opinion. Idk maybe you just gotta listen to it more, or maybe you just simply dont fw Logic no matter how he raps. But I think you trippin trippin thinking this not a MASSIVE improvement for Logic.
It’s simply because he still thinks it’s cool to not like Logic and his material, he probably just glossed over most of it anyway
its not cool to say you like logic anymore its so clear that he enjoyed it but has to be dismissive of it on stream 😂 nice comment tho ur literacys on point
@@aidanmccarthy1899for sureee
Cole talks about the same thing every song? That’s a lie. 2014, 4YEO, KOD, TOS are filled with various topics and concepts…
His best album in years
Logic gets so much unnecessary hate in my opinion, he tells story's on a whole different level. I understand the corny comments but let's be honest he goes hard.
We been hearing about this album since the New York FaZe house ☠️☠️☠️
Logic fire idk what bro talking about
I really like this album. I could do without the skits but whatever. Sometimes you just gotta feel the vibe and not overanalyze it.
I remember watching his reaction to 1999. What the h$$$ happened to this dude?
This album was great, I can't agree with bro on this take
Dope album but wish he wouldn’t..
1. complain in his raps about criticism he gets from fans or critics
2. constant trauma dumping on his songs about his family issues.. it always feels like too much information for the listener
3. constant name dropping/glazing of other rappers
Logic, just focus on good word play and explore other themes instead.
@@Santana_Art I agree with 1 & 3. I’m kinda neutral on 2.
artists dont make art to make the audience comfortable. him ”trauma dumping” is justifiable as he is making art just like any artist. if this was marketed as background noice for a corporate environment or something, it would be a problem. nothing is tmi in art
1 was the only valid point you had.
bro LET THE TERM GLAZING GO. shit is generally corny asf. ur not glazing if ur showing love, ur not glazing if ur complimenting someone, ur not glazing if ur talking about someone or something that inspires u. niggas be so afraid to talk positively abt something because its "glazing"??? let that shit go bro
