It’s crazy how many Christians think they are celebrating the resurrection of Christ with the same ideals of the pagan tradition. I just love the energy of different cultures and digging up history not taught to us!!! Thank you
It was not taught to you because Christians want to wipe out the pagan faith and history and put their false God and beliefs in its place.
Jehovah's Witnesses taught me the truth about this and it's refreshing & very reassuring to find that same truth presented by honest people in both Christian and Pagan circles.
It is more crazy to think that 😮 Add this to your leather bound 📕. Christ has a spiritual ranking 10* higher than Eostre. And he blessed her with the position in the heavens to be over your head. He had bigger tasks to handle. Just trying to HELP your magic by keeping you out of Karmic debt (Blasphemy). People actually perish because a lack of knowledge. Shalom
She reached out to me recently. I had never heared about her before. She seems like such a lovely energy
I wholeheartedly agree!
She has a beautiful energy and presence
Happy Eostre. May you have a blessed Spring
Nice video. As a Hindu from India, it's nice to see people returning to back to their old traditions. Unfortunately in India Christian missionaries using many tricks to convert our tribal and unprivileged people. It's very enriching to know diverted cultures that existed. Let's bring back that diversity.
You cannot serve two other Gods you either serve one or the other. Be mindful of what you choose to follow, for one will lead you astray and the other will lead you to pure love and righteousness.
Their pure arrogance is so bad.
Most shamanistic Religions have things in common.
Christianity in every way is so different and strange and they are still the most disrespectful Religion on the planet.
@@abrianafavors2917 as a pagan I can choose to be friends with as many gods as I like. I am not limited to 1. Oh and by the way I used to be Christian but found out that the Christian god is useless when you want any real help in life. However when ever I pray to one of my pagan gods for help I always get it.
Are you saying God never helped you?
I have this horrible feeling that modern day Pagans will see her as a Spring Goddess. Which she isnt, she was the dawn and the spirit of light. The coming of the sun, the early sun itself. Destroyer of the dark night. Her name was a title of Ushas in vedic religon and a name that was spread all over eastern Europe, but not with the Norsemen. The Germans call April Ostermonat and she was connected to Easter(which was originally her featival}. She had connections to the Greek Titan Eos.
I was planning on watching the sunrise and going on an early morning hike. I've bought some wooden eggs to paint that I can use every year and I'm getting a little house plant and some fresh flowers. I don't own any white dresses but I have a very cute light blue spring dress with flowers on it in going to wear. I'm also making a wreath. This will be my first time celebrating Ostara so I'm very excited. I'm so happy I found your channel!
I had a dream where Persephone, Eostre and other spring deity came up. I didn't know about Eostre before that and she said her name. She said "Eostata" which is also a variant. Could this mean the deity from Spring is my patron??
It's definitely possible :)
I don’t remember if I’ve ever had that happen but I did walk into a shop and this pack of tarot cards had a deep pulling to me and it was goddesses on the front of the box. I feel most connected with Eostre, Freyja and Aphrodite and recently Bridget kind of.
I love your videos, I am taking this uncertain time to further my pagan studies. I have always been interested throughout my life and found myself attached to nature. Thank you.
You must know that any god that is limited is not a true living God. There is only one God and its not possible to serve many gods for they have different agreements. God word says you cannot serve two gods you can either serve one or the other. Be mindful of what you want to believe and what is already set to be true.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful message. You look very pretty with you blue flowers head band. I saw kitty made a appearance. Happy Spring.
When I first came out of the ‘broom closet’ and talking to my husband about my conversion we noticed a lot of rabbits near our house and even sitting still on the patio while I talked to it. I’m not sure yet but she may my patron Goddess. Also when I think about it my favorite color has always been green. I love springtime when the sun starts to warm me up when standing in an open field and seeing the new leaves and greener grass and sparkling dew. This just might be the Goddess I’ve been searching for
The frustrating thing is we have very few solid sources about Eostre. She's only ever mentioned ONCE by Bede in passing. We are not even sure if eggs and bunnies are sacred to her 😑
great video :) On a funny side note I was so confused on the dates you were saying....till I noticed this video was from last year ;) ;) Thank you for posting :)
Loved this information. Thank you so much for sharing it- I will be honoring the goddess- and the fae.
I love these videos on the sabats, they're always so full of good symbolism and ideas for celebration. That bit about bunnies getting busy got a chuckle out of me, lol, great one scarlet !
Our Kindred is Celebrating Tomorrow!!!
I really appreciate your videos! You’re a wealth of information! Thank you!
i think i am going to celebrate both Easter and the spring equinox so that means i get to wear this white dress i have been saving for a while now yay
She's been worshipped by my family line for hundreds of years. We're scottish, Irish, german, and dutch.
Can't wait to see your Ostara altar! I'm definitely going to be putting some of my chickens' eggs on mine (it's the first year we have chickens, so I'm excited to have real fresh eggs for the alter, and they're already different colors naturally because we have a variety of breeds!). During March 19 I'll be visiting a friend in Florida, so perhaps we'll be able to take a sunrise walk on the beach, but as soon as I'm back home a few days later I'll be going for a walk at the local forest preserve to look for first signs of spring.
So what you are saying is all the fun stuff on holidays comes from paganism, like painting Eostre eggs, carving pumpkins, and leaving gifts under a tree?
Got it! 👍🏻
🐰 🎃 🎄 🎁
Halloween Christmas and Easter have nothing to do with Christianity but paganism fits its self perfectly and people buy it
Love your energy and knowledge. Thanks for the explanation.
Very interesting. I've loved mythology for many years. Looked this up since Easter is approaching.
Thank for the video, love ostata and this time of year
This very interesting
I don't usually celebrate Ostara but this year I'll be in London and am participating in Treadwell's Spring Equinox Witchcraft event. Very excited.

Do you think that you can celebrate Eostara for like a whole week before and after the equinox? My reasoning is that: when the Northumbrian Vikings and Celts would celebrate the festival in Easter as suggested by Mr. Grimm: it may suggest that they didn’t have the technology for determining the exact day when the sun was equal to the moon? Does anybody else have any comments on this?
As well, as other Sabbaths if they have to be celebrated on the exact date that our modern technology has given us or just around the relative time of the Sabbats?
Mateo Gomez I enjoy celebrating the season and not just on one day. I don’t know if I can make this make sense but example March April and may I celebrate the spring attributes of nature June July and august I celebrate summer etc. it’s kind of like I take time to relish that season. My practice is centered around nature cycles ancestors and guides not so much specific deity. I would think however if you celebrated a holiday to honor a specific deity they would appreciate your time and devotion whatever day or days you dedicate to them
I absolutely love your energy and the videos you make. Thanks for sharing with the community. That is what paganism is all about!
First and by the way, love your video!💕
Thanks! 😊
Very interesting, totally makes sense.
Thank you for the video.
What is the difference between this goddess of dawn and the goddess Aurora which is also said is the goddess of dawn to?
Aurora is her roman name, same goddess.
I love this content!
I want to do a spring feast with flowers and Victorian English tea party with scones, sandwiches etc…
Love all your videos and enjoy them very much but one correction. Christian Easter changes because it is related to the Passover and Good Friday from the Jewish calendar which is the faith Christianity comes from. Blessings
Excellent!! Very helpful!!
when storming the rain water helps heal and cleanses i collect it and use throughout practice. (tears of zeus)
Thank you , as always for the informative sabat videos. I learn so much! My birthday is the 19th. So I will be greeting the dawn wearing some flowers!
I'm the 20th
I celebrate March 20 I also full moon prayers in april
The date of the Christian celebration of the crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is coupled with the dates of the ancient Jewish Passover festival. The celebration date is per the first full moon in the Hebrew calendar month, Nissan. This is as per the events described in the Bible.
Thanks! I did not know about this.
Amazing video thanks.
“Bede” is pronounced like “bee-d”
I had a dream where last night there were a ton of rabbits at my front door then they burst in and surrounded me I think she might be calling but I'm just not sure how to begin working with her
Easter and Eostre likely had a shared root word but Easter was not directly named after Eostre. Eostre was conceived by Bede (a Catholic monastic historian whose name you cant even pronounce) to be a pagan festival, not a goddess. In Romance languages, Easter is referred to as “Pascha”, which is a derivation of the Hebrew word for Pesach (Passover in English) as the Last Supper was a Passover Feast.
The “easter eggs” became a tradition due to Lenten fasts as eggs (which were prohibited under fasting rules) would last during the 40 days of lent. They would be painted and decorated to celebrate the end of the Lenten fast and given as gifts.
The rabbits are associated with Easter because rabbits can gestate two litters simultaneously. The birth of this second litter was seen as a form of parthenogenesis (virgin birth) and was associated with Mary, the mother of Christ.
Really this could have all been clarified before you made the video had you spent a few minutes researching your material.
Easter is the germanic, the name is more similar to Paschal, semitic things in languages, such as the romance languages. Ostara is the (old high)german name (ostern is modern), Paques is French, etc. It always nice to hear the etymology of the word though.
In modern English Bede its pronounced like bead. In being more paticular, Jacob Grimm is “Yakob” :D. Gotta give my Anglo-Saxon and philologist their due. Grimm is a legend. Thanks for the video!
its bede pronounced like bead, thank you for this video i hope it helps people understand some of our goddesses and traditions
Firstfruits, Easter to you. Passover week, or the beginning of Passover is determined by the first of the year. 14 days after the beginning of the year is Passover. The beginning of the year? Spring equinox would be the beginning of the year. The conflation of the religions was done by people like you.
You look so beautiful in this video.
Thanks :)
Interesting. Thanks
Adorable.
Could you do amyterasu and persaph sorry for my spelling
the Venerable Bede. is pronounced 'Bead'
im pretty sure she is trying to reach out to me, i went to a petsmart a few weeks back and the one bunny that wasnt in a box followed me. every single one of my dreams since that encounter has revolved around rabbits. could you let me know what a next step would be
Me too! I also had a rabbit appear in my incense today. I'm not sure what to do
The monk you are talking about is the Venerable Bede. You pronounced the first part right, but Bede is pronounced, “ Beed.”
Hello there, I came across this channel while doing searches and I really like the videos. I also agree with Native Albion, the church has borrowed these holidays that are not in the Bible, it was the Catholic Church who taken them and Christianised them. I am not much of a festive person, but I have no problem that you are showing the origin of these holidays. Bless You :)
Guess what? The Spring Equinox never falls within Eostremonath (April).
Actually the egg and the rabbit are correct but your forgetting the sparrow.
Jesus the messiah has risen
Hallelujah
Hi there... I hope this is not a silly question but is it the same goddess for us here in the southern hemisphere or would it be the Autumn (Fall) goddess...?
Hi Robyn, for the Southern Hemisphere you'll be having the autumn equinox instead. Some of the gods & goddess associated with the Autumn Equinox are Persephone, The Green Man, Pamona, the Muses, and Hermes. Hope that helps :) Here's a video I did previously about the autumn equinox: ua-cam.com/video/gy6er0RzinU/v-deo.html
@@ScarletRavenswood Thankyou !! xx
1) Just because the origins of the WORD Easter are in a pagan holiday, does not mean that the observance/celebration of the Resurrection (which is attested to in primary sources) is a pagan holiday.
2) "Easter" may predate Jesus, but it sure doesn't predate Pesach (Passover), which is what resurrection day is called by Christians in every non-germanic language.
3) Christianity is a world religion with middle eastern origins, not an English one with Germanic origins. Whatever syncretism that particular culture practiced observing the Resurrection does not somehow work it's way backwards and forwards in time to change historical facts.
I have a question, so if you have a patron Goddess can you also call up and work with other Goddesses on the side, like... Just every now and then?
I really like this one!
The venerable Bede is pronounced the same as the word "bead"
His name is pronounced “bee-d” I’m not far from where he lived St Bede is very famous in the north east of England
Do you think the Christian God would be happy that the resurrection be associated with a pagan goddess ?
Scarlet, try a long e ... Bede ,would be Beed
Was she also a goddess for the Northman ins Scandinavia
I have a question: which pantheon of gods does ostara goddess of belong to? Is it norse, celtic, or another? Please let me know I have tried looking but it hasn't worked out to well.
She’s a Germanic goddess- not sure if that helps but worth a try :)
💜💙
Thanks for additional info on this! However, there’s a slight discrepancy with your information on the Christian celebration of “Easter”. While many major Christian Holidays have connection to changing of the seasons and the early Church’s efforts to convert people from a pagan religion to Christianity, “Easter” in the Christian sense has no connection to the time of year per the pagan tradition, but does tends to have pagan traditions (eggs, bunnies, etc)!
The Jewish Passover that was established by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (noted in the book of Exodus) coincidentally falls near the pagan celebration of spring. In the Bible, Passover is instructed to be celebrated on the first full moon after the vernal equinox (due to some little guy called Moses & rescuing people). Then many many moons after, Jesus resurrected three days after Passover ends which is now when Christians celebrate “Easter”. Since the name Easter comes from pagan roots, you’ll find some believers are referencing the pagan holiday to “Resurrection Sunday” now. Hope this helps with your informational videos!
But dont you find it odd that most major Christian holidays are really based on pagan pre Jesus rituals/celebrations, its the same thing with Christmas. Im saying this as a Christian btw, the bible warns us again and again to not worship false gods/idols; the christmas rituals (tree with decor) is literalally passed down from the old pagan celebrations, and easter (the bunny and eggs) is the same. This is scary, man....Ppl dont even realize what they are worshiping and and dont think its just a coincidence, may Gold help us.
Not to be confused with the Mesopotamian goddesses Ishtar or Astarte?
Albino u Miss me
Why Don't Anymore Talk. EOSTRE Was About Sex and They would paint the women's and they went out in the woods and the men went and hunted Them and when they found A woman They had sexual relations 🤔 So why Don't They Tell The Truth about it🤔
Jesus loves you ❤ Come back to Him, don’t you miss Him? Merry Christmas!
Repent and turn to JESUS CHRIST (Luke 13:3).
What do you get out of doing this? Why would you call your viewership family? We're your parents very religious Christians?
@Modern Woodsman Clergy munks or nuns are reefed to ass brother or sister as a carover from an earlier form of christianity. In Christianity all Christian men were concerned to be priests and all christians were concerned too be siblings because they all had the same spiritual father.
@Modern Woodsman Now that would be interesting if my parents were heavy into islam now wouldn't it. What I was trying to figure out is if there is a link between the religiousness of pagans and christians. I E do the children of atheists or christians more juneticly related?🤔
@Modern Woodsman Christianity was very much a political force after the emperor Constantine. That was the first time the church and the state were fused and being in the church become advantageous if seeking power so opportunists stepped forward. I have been shoked by how much evil is in the umbrella of "Christianity". But I don't understand what this paganism is exactly. Do the ethnic religious beliefs off Africa count as pagan? I don't really see pagans as being a family isn't it blood ties or marriage that would make someone family in paganism?
@Modern Woodsman But atheism predates Christianity. Is that then also pagan?
@Modern Woodsman Why do you believe in what you believe spiritually what makes you believe that what makes you able to believe that?
Thank you!! Happy Ostara!! 🥚🌸🥚
I really appreciate your videos! You’re a wealth of information! Thank you!
