Begotten moments

Some moments from the "Begotten"... the experimental film written, produced, edited, shot, and directed by Edmund Elias Merhige in 1989. In a surreal, gory and entirely visual manner, Begotten tells of the death of religion, the abuse of nature by Man. The film contains no dialogue and employs a style similar in some ways to early silent films. Antonin Artaud and philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche were major influences on Begotten.
