For me, this is the most black influenced blues and rock selection on early Beatles album. Also the sounds are quite heavy equalized especially when you listen this album on analog record. Starting from Roll over Beethoven and side B started from Long tall Sally. The perfect line up by Capital records. Normally US album songs line up are quite criticized but this one is perfect. Album jacket is also very vivid and lovely. Especially I love the side face of Ringo and John’s Rickenbacker playing photo. The best Beatle blues and rock‘n roll album.
This is from the boxed set compilation comprising The Beatles' 1964 American Capitol Records releases. [Capitol Albums, Vol. 1] (Released in November 15, 2004) Not from the original vinyl, in Compact Disc format.
Whenever life starts to curdle, like when I read anything about Donald Trump, I drop this little gem on my turntable and no matter how shitty things seem at that moment, as soon the first cut starts playing, the sun comes out and my quality of life is immediately slid up several rungs, up and out of the shitter! Rock on, boys!
