- It’s time for another Krypt puzzle! This time it’s the Universe Glow 881 piece Krypt, and it glows in the dark!! Can I make it 4 for 4 and conquer this Krypt without the guide? Let’s see!

I would definitely have that one in a white frame and put it up on the wall in my hall near the light so that every time I turned it off I get this amazing picture in the dark.

How exciting to see you build this one! I have this myself, and with no prior Krypt experience hearing you say it is probably the most difficult definitely makes me incredibly nervous, haha. You truly have a knack for tackling tough puzzles. Well done! 👏
Thank you! I do have to strategise pretty heavily to finish them, but that isn’t my natural way of puzzling generally - it does feel good finishing these off though. I think the stars on this one make it much more doable, give it a go and I’m sure you’ll be fine - plus there is always the guide if you need it 😊

Thank you Ruth! 😃 It was definitely tough, and I wouldn’t blame anyone for using the guide - the Krypt puzzles are hard for sure. I only managed it with super heavy strategising and organising of the pieces, and believe me, organising is not my natural skill in life 😆
I did this one and it is my favorite Krypt yet! I did it without the guide and sorted out the edges, solid black, heavily star covered, and lightly starry. I just went back and forth between sections whenever I’d get stuck. Enjoyed it the whole time!
I agree! I think it’s my fave so far too! Such a cool cut pattern 😍 I think I should have sorted more like you did sooner in the process, but I got there eventually 😆

Thank you! It really is stunning to see it glow - the gold is the only cut I haven’t done in solid colour yet - well, and this one, but this one is the only one of this cut so far. I will try the Think Krypt 2 next, which is the same cut as gold, and a gorgeous blue colour 😍

I tried building a Krypt puzzle a while ago but I was not able to finish it. At one point I was so frustrated, I wanted to run away screaming, so I gave it away.

I do understand that frustration - I definitely have been frustrated with my Krypts too, but I just really enjoy the challenge. It’s a wonderful feeling when you finish! 😍

The excitement when you finished it put a smile on my face as I'd feel that way too I'm sure. I have my first Krypt puzzle coming soon and if it doesn't defeat me completely; I may consider getting another, perhaps this one.

Which Krypt have you got coming? I hope you enjoy it - they can be frustrating, but I really enjoy the challenge, and it feels so great when you finish - and there is always the guide if you get stuck 😊
I have the Silver coming and from what I saw on the website that I get a lot of my puzzles from; Ravensburger is no longer going to be manufacturing this one. So if that's the case I'm happy that I was able to get it after grappling with if I was ever going to purchase it or not. I'm looking forward to the challenge!
Yes, I think that’s an older one - I managed to get silver from a charity shop and the box design looks a little different. I hope all the pieces are there 😬
I'm not a fan of the krypt puzzles because they are a solid color, however, that one really is a neat puzzle cut. I like the circles and the stars give it some visual interst. I still probably won't get that one but it is neat to look at. :) The only krypt I have is the gradient lol
I can definitely understand being put off by solid colour - I find, with Krypts, that it’s the cut that makes it interesting for me. I think, perhaps, they are the only solid colour puzzles I will do…maybe. I like that there are at lease a couple with visual detail though - this one included. I agree, the cut is really cool on this one 😍
I have all the Krypt puzzles now - except this one. 😁 I don't think I'd live long enough to complete it. 🤯

Good job Vicky. I’ve done the silver Krypt without the guide and I have the red. I enjoyed doing the silver, you do have this is doing my head in moments but when it’s done it’s a great feeling. A picture of my silver finished is my sceen saver, do you take photos of your finished puzzles as a record?

I have a NY, NY panoramic glow-in- the dark puzzle. The pieces are very chunky. The glow-in-the-dark spots are encrypted, or blended, into the pieces. It looks beautiful in the dark. On the other hand, I had a Seahorses puzzle where the glow spots were on top of the finished pieces and didn’t glow so beautifully. I am wondering how this Krypt puzzle's "glow spots" are made...??
Honestly I don’t know Betty - they are normal thickness Ravensburger pieces and the glow in the dark bit feels like a rough, textured layer on the top. My guess, therefore, is that they are on top, but I’m not sure I understand what you mean when you say they are encrypted into the pieces, so it’s hard to say. I can say that it glows beautifully though 😍

I did the gold one, it was hard and i didn't sort the pieces at the begging but once I did, it was fine.

I would agree with you - I think sorting is a must with Krypts, even just a rough one can really help - I don’t think I’d manage them without the guides otherwise 😆

Congratulations on getting it done Vicky, rather you than me! I have no interest whatsoever in solid colour puzzles although this one did have a touch of colour. I did get a little dizzy when you kept swooping your camera from side to side. 😵💫 The glow in the dark was rather spectacular! I recently did a rather vivid puzzle called Cheshire Cat by Clementoni, ref. no. 35123 if you wish to look it up. Look forward to your next video.

It does look amazing when it’s finished - I think because of the focus on circles, the Krypts have to have wonky pieces, but in a big way, the shapes of the pieces are the key to figuring them out to be honest 😍

I loved this puzzle, because solid color puzzle crypts are to boring.

I ve never found krypt difficult or understood the fuss about them. You simply start in the middle and work outward. Certainly not the big deal people think they are. It's just a different way of puzzling ie by shape.
