- Tanzania's economic growth will beat that of Kenya and Uganda in 2024 even as East Africa is projected to continue to lead Africa's growth momentum. On Tanzania's economic outlook, the Update shows the economy has been resilient, growing by 5.2 percent in 2023, compared to 4.6 percent in 2022.
Tanzania stopped borrowing for the past few yrs and has paid off most of her debts. Tanzania has learn to live within her means. So, one shouldn't be surprised. "Prudence" is the watch word. Kudos to Tanzanian govt and her beautiful people.

It is just a matter of time. Each country will take its rightful economic position. Tanzania is ahead of DRC for example, but time will come when Congo will be a giant of East Africa. The current positions are due to some historical reasons but they can't prevail!

I have been hearing that Tanzania is overtaking Kenya since 1997! If Kenya went through the darkest period of post election violence in 2007 but Tanzania didn't catch up! Then Tanzania has a long way to go

Kenya has alot of natural resources, whcih have not been exploited. Gold is more in kenya than in Tanzania only alittle have been mined.Has lots of oil but opted for more renewable energy instead.lots of diamond Makadi soda. and more. Only things is that natural disasters have slowed the growth of economy but Tansania is nowhere close.

Tanzania is about 9 years behind in development compared to Kenya.Electricity acess in Tanzania is 42% while Kenya is 76%. Internet access in Tz is 31% in Kenya is 40%.paved tarmac road in kenya 22000 Km total Tz is 12000 Km keep in mind Tz is much bigger than Kenya both size and population.Unless Kenya undergoes stagnant development for 10 years or Tz. Grows twice as fast than Kenya there is no overtaking in near future.
