Ah boys! I am crying with you! Your writing is much more a personal statement than what we have here in the UK. Our wills are much more formally written and lack the emotion of what you have done there. We can have a separate letter or note attached to the will that gives the opportunity to write expressions of love and gratitude. There is no legal requirement for us in the UK to proportion assets to family but the content of the will can be challenged in court if considered unreasonable. We are fortunate to have our partnership as a legal entity so that means we are legally each others' spouse and our wills are 'mirrored' with clear instructions should there be simultaneous death. I truly hope that the most recent news from S Korea on the validity of same sex relationships is the start of progress towards civil partnership and/or marriage between same sex partners. I have seen too many occasions whereas you state the spouse is treated poorly or not even allowed to participate in anything while the person is sick or dies. Yes it would, it makes things a lot simpler when you die for the people left behind. I think a lot of unmarried straight couples need to think about it too. A will protects you, your family and your partner.

Just as a side note, I think the exercise of writing a will together is a beautiful way to express your love to each other. Sometimes we don’t tell our partner how we truly feel because we assume they know. The fact is we all need to hear it. This gave you the opportunity to say what you feel while you are still alive and able to comfort each other. Experiencing the reality of our loved one’s death for even a fleeting moment curbs our tendency to take each other for granted. Your sensitivity is inspiring.

I love how you approached the sad fact that we all pass away at some point and how we want our assets to be divided. In a country where same sex marriage is not official it is good to know that there is a way for you or your life partner to receive your assets. I really feel for those partners who could not be acknowledged at their lover's funerals. At that point, it depends on how supportive the family of the deceased is. I would hope that family members would make faster progress than the law, but I know that a lot of conservative people won't open their minds until the law acknowledges same sex marriage first. These touching and heartfelt videos really highlight the need for the law to change. It will happen!

У нас в России правда ещё хуже с признанием однополых пар мы вообще вне закона, но у нас проще с завещанием я могу всё оставить подруге, а если я вообще оформлю дарственную (то есть подарю ей всё, то по закону даже мои родственники не смогут это оспорить это в суде). Thank you both once again for giving us not only your personal story but something educational that we can use in life. My heart truly broke when you said you had been to funerals where the partner was a helper for the day, rather than a part of the family and receiving the love and the care they deserved whilst grieving for their loved one. The letters you wrote brought many tears to my eyes. However, they are not a Will to leave property and money to each other. In addition to your letters, you still must include a Will that would state how your property should be divided. This way, it should alleviate and fighting at that time. A Will can be enforced by law. So now, write down your lists of property. But know that this will need to be updated or amended every so often as you accrue additional things over the years. Check if Korean Law accepts amendments to a Will or does it require a new Will to be written.
You probably missed it, but they did start the will with instructions on how to divide the property. The emotional part was in addition to that. You did give them good advice. Things constantly change.

OMG The whole episode was so intense, incredible and amazing in its entirety. The emotional energy needed to make and do a living will is truly inspiring and heart wrenching. You can see and feel the energy in the air from getting advice from a friend who’s a lawyer to sitting down and writing out the will. The intensity of your emotions on the first day to the reading on the second day was incredible and intensifying. I literally cried so hard that I couldn’t watch it all the way through. You know doing this makes one wonder the complexities and emotional feeling of writing your own will and testament, hence why I haven’t done mine. Когда Вы читали завещание я плакала вместе с Вами, это очень трогательно и в то же время очень грустно, хочется пожелать чтобы а Корее разрешили однополые браки чтобы люди не сталкивались с такими проблемами. У нас в России правда ещё хуже с признанием однополых пар мы вообще вне закона, но у нас проще с завещанием я могу всё оставить подруге, а если я вообще оформлю дарственную (то есть подарю ей всё, то по закону даже мои родственники не смогут это оспорить это в суде). Ну а Вам желаю прожить ещё очень много много лет❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

My heart truly broke when you said you had been to funerals where the partner was a helper for the day, rather than a part of the family and receiving the love and the care they deserved whilst grieving for their loved one. The letters you wrote brought many tears to my eyes. However, they are not a Will to leave property and money to each other.
In addition to your letters, you still must include a Will that would state how your property should be divided. This way, it should alleviate and fighting at that time. A Will can be enforced by law.
So now, write down your lists of property. But know that this will need to be updated or amended every so often as you accrue additional things over the years. Check if Korean Law accepts amendments to a Will or does it require a new Will to be written.
You probably missed it, but they did start the will with instructions on how to divide the property. The emotional part was in addition to that. You did give them good advice. Things constantly change.

OMG The whole episode was so intense, incredible and amazing in its entirety. The emotional energy needed to make and do a living will is truly inspiring and heart wrenching. You can see and feel the energy in the air from getting advice from a friend who’s a lawyer to sitting down and writing out the will. The intensity of your emotions on the first day to the reading on the second day was incredible and intensifying. I literally cried so hard that I couldn’t watch it all the way through. You know doing this makes one wonder the complexities and emotional feeling of writing your own will and testament, hence why I haven’t done mine.
