A famous robbery, Part 2
Once inside the vault, they could open the safe deposit
boxes. It’s easy to do with a simple hammer. Look! You
can crack these open in just five minutes!
The police only discovered the robbery two days after the
robbers escaped with the jewels, or ‘the loot’. Nobody
knows how much they escaped with. They were
eventually captured by the police six months later. Their
downfall was the technology they used. The police were
much smarter; they traced their mobile phones, analysed
the CCTV images, recorded their conversations and
followed their cars. It was the end to an amazing story, to
what seemed to be the perfect crime. The police
eventually solved the mystery of the largest burglary in
English legal history.
