    I learned the bonus tip the hard way. Practice session before my race. I just out and try to hit this easy table that ive hit before no problem. Only there was a real deep pit full of mud that looked like normal dirt. When I hit it, it slowed me down and made my suspension unload wayyy to early and I went over the bars just like Ken Roczen. Hurt the shoulder and I was done for the day. Never let your ego make you do something similar.

    I always ride by myself. I don’t like it, but when I need to train and my buddies are busy. You got to do, what you go to do. I make sure my utes always locked and everything’s packed away. If I get knocked out and take me to the hospital at least my gear and equipment is safe. Also I did the bonus. First lap, there was a table top. Hit it hard like I always do. Turns out they changed the track and it’s a ski jump into a corner and the track went a new direction. Cleared the whole track. Frame cased the ground. Was full throttle. Luckily it was pretty soft dirt and rode away. Had to take a break and change my underwear. Mistakes were made and lessons were learnt that day.

    Good stuff.very important for new riders and they don’t get the information from anywhere else. I’m a vet rider 50 plus and raced when I was a kid, had a friend who rode but never on a track. I layer it out for him just like you did and he said how helpful it was to him. Especially holding his line

    I like any format you use to present the information and advise. I especially liked this one because it supported the pointers I always share with my son. Holding your line and a sight lap are things I always stress. It helps my son realize that even though I'm a spode, I do know some things.

    Even on race day's your first practice lap should be a sight lap even if you did a track walk. Unless you are in the first practice of the day you want to see where the lines are forming and see where the nasty over watered parts of the track are during practice. As for the arm bands I hate those things (I can't stand to have anything on my wrist while I'm riding), I always put my rider band on my crossbar if the track allows it. A lot of the tracks up here know me and don't mind but the few that say I have to have it on my wrist I put it on as loose as possible...

    I wanted to ride my new bike SOO BAD today. Just went from a carb 250 to an injected 450. Couldn't find anyone to ride with so I didn't get to go. Moral of the story is I'm home safe. I didn't get to go have fun but I also didn't wreck my bike in the woods and have nobody to help me get the proper help. That is THE MOST important thing anyone will ever learn with these machines. No matter how bad you want to ride its NOT worth riding alone. Even if you have and made it home safe. It only takes one time to break your leg and have nobody to get you to the hospital or your bike home.

    • @ravenhawke5
      @ravenhawke5 4 роки тому +4

      Very Risky but if you absolutely have to scratch that itch and get that throttle therapy. I would suggest not riding at your 100% capability and rolling the bigger jumps even if you have hit them a 1000 times, and take the time to work Riding position, your on corner technique and braking. You win races in the corners not in the air.
