    'I AM WHAT I AM'

Living In A Rainbow Room is a short documentary looking into the lives of three individuals who attend Rainbow Rooms UK, a Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender (LGBT) social group. We look at their past, present lives and their plans for the future. We hear about the obstacles they have faced and how they overcome the difficulties life throws at them. During the documentary we look back on the history of homosexuality, from when Queen Victoria made homosexuality illegal to the Stonewall Riots in 1969.
During the documentary you will meet three individuals:

    • Billy: A 19 year old who is currently lodging away from his parents and helping out with rainbow rooms UK in Salisbury. He is currently studying to become a youth worker at Wiltshire College and works at an Esso garage in his spare time.
    • Sam: A middle-aged women who has just left a long-term relationship and is starting to find herself again. She volunteers for several groups and is also studying environmental conservation. She lives on her own and regularly attends the rainbow room's gatherings.
    • Julie: A transsexual who is male to female. She is currently unemployed, however she attends collage three times a week to study music. She is from a Thai-Buddhist background and her family does not fully except her and what she believes in. She is currently living as a woman, but is yet to undergo the full transition
