Thank you for these beautiful 'photos and footage of Helen and her companion Polly Thomson's visit to the Middle East. What a remarkable woman and ambassador for the blind and deaf. A really extensive tour ..... totally fascinating, riveting stuff!! She experienced a lot during this tour always using her hands and sense of smell in the garden and with the flowers the little girl was holding.

That's true. I feel like a regular " Stay-at-Home" , compared to Helen Keller.
The only time I ever left the U.S. was when I crossed the border from NY state to Kingston, Ontario. But, to tell you the truth, It didn't really seem any different from the U.S. 😮 Anyway...Have a great day! 🌿🐸🐸🌿
Helen lived such a full and amazing life........ despite her disabilities. Wow, look how she goes down the stairs on her own, amazing! she went all over the world!

These scenes from Helen Keller's travels are spectacular! Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel were, I imagine, visits desired and dreamed of by her.
I imagine her emotion in touching the statues of the Cairo museum. I like the photo with the Dromedaries and the visit to the Garden of Gethsemane. Were the color images restored like this or are they original color images?

Helen Keller lived a life that was very challenging, it just come so easy for her, most of us do not think of these things that we could of done, that were even close to her life, she had a lot of courage..

The Lord used this dear lady to reach out to many. A willing vessel, trusting solely in her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Thank you dear friend for sharing! I got tired of screening and deleting the inappropriate comments and unsuitable language so I just disabled the comments. Yes, I've always admired Polly Thomson. She seems likable and competent. She was originally hired by Anne Sullivan and Helen as a secretary and assistant, in 1914. I re-call a quote from Anne --... -"Then later, Polly came....I loved Polly and we were always so happy together. ... my Polly, my Helen..." - -Anne Sullivan, from her death bed.
