The Ghost Ship Alkimos is a ship that ran aground off the coast of Western Australia in 1963, defying all attempts to salvage her - and driving anyone who went on board away: whether they were caretakers, salvage teams, or just curious visitors: all of them fled the stranded ship, convinced the wreck was haunted - while bad luck and misfortune tended to follow others who had boarded or tried to approach her, as its looming hulk cast a long shadow over the nearby sands - eventually becoming a brooding landmark on the Australian shore and giving the nearby beach its official name - 'Alkimos Beach'.
