Sierra de las Quijadas National Park is a spectacular natural destination, with canyons and unique rock formations. From the entrance you can travel by car or bike about 6 km to the parking area at the first viewpoint, and from there, all the trails are exclusively pedestrian, which allows you to fully enjoy nature.
Main trails:
Viewpoints: Accessible panoramic points to enjoy an impressive view of the Potrero de la Aguada.
Native Flora: 800 meters. Interpretive circuit to learn about the vegetation of the park.
La Guanaca: 5 km. Self-guided trail, ideal for observing local fauna and the canyon from above.
Los Farallones: 9 km. Guided tour among rock formations and views of the desert landscape.
Traces of the Past: 3 km. A walk among fossils and ancient formations.
How to get there:
From San Juan, the park is 170 km to the south, and from Merlo, in San Luis, about 120 km. Opening hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in summer and until 6 p.m. in winter, allowing you to explore the trails and landscapes during the day.
