Fixing the alphabet.

- The alphabet isn't great. Lots of dumb letters. So I fixed it.
I will fix numbers next if enough people like this video, or if I feel like doing it anyway.
Top 5 best letters:
1. L
2. R
3. N
4. M
5. H
Top 5 worst letters:
1. Q
2. Y
3. W
4. S
5. K
"Don't worry, we'll get to why/Y."
Pun aside, you can really feel the undercurrent of rage in his voice.

“w” and “y” are semi-vowels they are similar to vowels but ultimately are consonants and the voiced post-alveolar affricate or the “j” sound is very different from the “g” sound or the voiced velar plosive.
"g" and "j" can sound the same, and "w" and "y" can be vowels (it's debatable whether "w" is just silent sometimes where it seems like it'd be a vowel, but "y" is DEFINITELY a vowel sometimes). but yes, "w" is a consonant in "what" and "wind"
@@eduardoxenofonte4004 It is true that the letter “g” could be both “g” or “j” but thats only due to the sound changes in the pronounciation of words when the english language evolved I said that because he combined the sounds for “g” and “j”. Yes “y” and “w” could represent vowels but it would be confusing to use “i” and “u” to represent the semi-vowels, you can check the IPA to confirm that “y” and “w” are not vowels, using “c” and “g” to represent 2 sounds will be confusing like the word “boxes” would become “boccec”.
@@Red-rr4ft yes, when "y" makes /j/, it is in fact not a vowel, but it's sometimes used to make /i:/
@@eduardoxenofonte4004 /GH/
In American English, 'R' is _also_ sometimes a vowel! Specifically, it's the "r-colored 'ə'" ['ə' == shwa-e]" and occurs in words like, "letter" and "color". Which, if you were spelling it with the IPA symbol for it, "ɚ", turns those words into "colɚ" and "letɚ". We also have "bigɚ", and "transferred" becomes "transfɚd" … and lots more!
mɚdɚrɚ
having 1 letter that makes 2 seperate sounds makes pronnunciation a pain. How would Uneccecary be pronounced if we had no prior knowledge of the word?
well words aren’t discovered with no prior knowledge, we make them up! we’d understand how to pronounce unnececcaey the same way we currently understand how to pronounce words like “cancer” or “concert”.
@@Nuvamata but the thing ic, that makec learning the language a painful and cumbercome experience. hence why having dedicated phonetic cymbolc that ctay concictent ic co important. I can hardly cpeak German but I can pronounce moct of the wordc I read, yet English ctill blindcidec me every once in a while
@@Ben-li9zb I think 'is' would probably be 'iz' instead
The S ceound would be written "ce" or "ci" (or "ç" as in French and Portuguese). As for the K ceound, we could do as Italians do: "che", "chi", but CH is taken. I suggecet TX for the CH ceound and then we can uze CH for K (only in Che and Chi). I'm not xure about pluralz, maybe Z will do, as commented above?
C is actually a very useful letter if you think about it because for one it helps form the CH digraph which wouldn't exist without it. Plus, words like Sell and Sent would get more confusing. And if C didn't exist, words like Plastik and Plastisity would look obscure, so C clearly is a great letter. C can stay and then, another reason why we need C is because, S is voiced intervocalically.

@@NuvamataFun fact back in 1700 English used to have 27th letter of English alphabet letter looks like this -> Þþ, and it makes the TH sound, so I think it's a good idea to bring it back, only languages who uses this letter still today are Nordic languages.
bring back S (see) and K (kee) and change C to the CH noise (chee) and i might just have to agree with you
Bring back J, becuase of the words like just and replace words like giraffe with jiraffe
@@locomotivetrainstation6053 better if he will use j as Y sound, cuz j and i are pretty similar looking, so it seems more logical.
in my mb strange opinion Y is good for TH sound(s) like you know that saloon style WiY Yis kind of writing
And use q as "soft" g sound... cuz just look at those uncapital letters q & g
I'd like to bring W back, cuz it's not U, and so write VU instead of 1 letter would be uncool

our childhoods would've been way better if the alphabet was:
a e i o u, p b z t d, f v g h, r l m followed by n! Now we've learned our A's to N's.. (Nee's) lets all sing this song again!
you forgot the c in between b and z
You need s to say “brody sat down” but with ur rule it’d be “brody cat down”
sure would. but we already have words that are spelled the same with different pronunciations that you understand when reading via context. examples: lead (a metal, or the act of leading), refuse (garbage, or to reject). same would apply to “brody cat down,” you’d understand from context there’s only one way to pronounce it in that specific sentence that makes sense.
@@Nuvamata ok that makes sense but it’s still a little weird lol
1 letter making 2 sounds is making pronunciation a pain to learn.
Finally the best alphabet order
Now this is a genius.
So many people are making new alphabets these days.
Hmmm what about C representing the CH sound?
ok so lets imagine if this alphabet allowed other symbols,
like Ʒ, the EZH(EƷ) Ʒ shoudl make the ZH sound in treaSure, so yes, J is eliminated for the sound being a combination, like W and Y,Q should go too. its useless
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPRSTUVƷZ is what we got so far
C shoudl make the CH noise to, DƷUST like nuva said, C can make K and S but thta makes alot of flaws, so we need to have a retake on the C-K-S-Z flaw
lets get the easy thing out the way, remove S' Z soudn is laser and give it to Z laser=LAZER, now C is the CH noise, so its useful, and K makes the Kuh and S makes Suh, and theres no flaws in this i hope.
In Welsh, C is always hard like in "Cat". Both C and K were used for the sound until 1928 when Welsh was standardized so K was deleted

J is my favorite letter, I'm sad to see it go
my first name begins with j so it is a near and dear letter to me but sacrifices must be made sadly.
@@Nuvamata If I were you here is what I'll do, J could represent soft G and G would represent Hard G so Giant would become Jiant and Giggle will remain Giggle. So G will only make a hard guh sound will J will make the soft G sound, the Juh sound

A fixed English alphabet:

i am forced to acknowledge that, regrettably, this opinion is not currently illegal to have. thank you for watching my video.
We need more specialized letters then we will easily know how to spell something is cee see or kee you would not know c could be used for ch it is already in ch

you mean Kwerty, Katar, Kiana, kat, and koph?
@@Ben-li9zb no because that's how it is actually spelled in English
@@jamburga321 I know, but a k would just work better
@@Ben-li9zb I really feel bad for letter Q because it is too underrated even though it has a nice shape
@@Ben-li9zbpeople say that q is dependent on u but I actually think that Y has a crush on Q because there are many words where Q sounds like K even when U is next to it so I love how Q is trying its best to fit in the alphabet for a purpose. I like Q, love how it is trying it's best to make its own use
What about words like cave and save? You would have to spell them both as cave!
If this were to catch on it would kill out my name, but o well.
What if the letter S will make sound "sh"
S will make the [s] sound, C always [k], J always "y".
Why are you getting rid of J and S? K and Q and W and Y i understand, but J and S are useless. Sat vs Cat don't sound the same. It would be better if we just limit C to the [k] sound always just like in Old English and Latin. So king > cing. Qu > Cw, Queen > Cween. Soft C/SOft G > S, J City > Sitee, Giraffe > Jiraf
Actually, J should make the Y sound like in Latin and Soft G will be written X.
Wait but doesn't D also make the T and J sound sometimes
d and t are basically the same sound which is why they get coupled together. dunno when d makes a j sound unless it’s incidentally coupled with a g like edge or fudge but they’d just become edje and fudje.

Wr becomes R wrench is rench wrong is rong

D is great E is great
All ph's becomes f (phone = fone)
Hard G becomes J, Soft G remains as a G
H is great I is great J is now better
K is used for a C sound (cat becomes kat)
L, M, N, O, P is great
Q is replaced with a K (quarter becomes kuarter, squid becomes skuid, equal becomes ekual etc.)
R is great
S can stay, words like stare wouldn't look right as ctare
T is great U is great V is great
Many W blends can change, Wh becomes just W (wheat becomes weat, where becomes were, whale becomes wale etc), Wr becomes just R (wrench is rench wrong is rong etc.)
X can be used for sh (shell becomes xell, short becomes xort etc.) Words like extra can be ekstra
Y can stay for words like "toy" but baby and monkey can be replaced with babee and monkee
Z can be used for X sound (xylophone becomes zylofone)

Did you know that D sometimes sound like T and J
How would you tell apart “where” and “were” tho
@@arthurdt6025 My question is, did you know that, D sounds like t and j some times (think of words like Individual sound like Indivijual and Stopped sounding like Stopt)
@@arthurdt6025 with the ' of course. Like these examples

Train's new Alphabet: Were are you?
In an example like. We were so close to winning!
The were at the start would have the '
So it would become. We we're so close to winning!
This hurts me physically ok to start you can't remove C because then "fase" (Face) looks like it's pronounced like "fase" (Phase) and you can't mix "Wh" and "W" some dialects still distinguish those sounds also you don't need a new letter for "Th" just write it like "Th" and "Dh" now "Ng" makes sense.
