My take on it was: Outstar doesn't work on the weekend and there's no one else to announce it. Like 5 people commented on it on the official WoD discord in the Coteries and Shadows channel. Otherwise there's nothing. Nothing on Draw Distance's social media either. Maybe it actually was released by the accident. But then there's already a demo available, so who knows. And to think that I found it by looking at my Steam wishlist, noticing that The Council is on sale and decided to look up Swansong, coz I never played it. "Vampire: The Masquerade" in the search bar got me there.
Outstar wrote on Twitter she's gonna take a step back from public appearances cause she's basically burning out, so it might really be the case there's no one to announce it.
With the timing and light launch page, I wonder if this has anything to do with New York by Night? Some of the characters from the NY Draw Distance series trilogy had been in the NYbN and the lore seems highly connected. Maybe waiting for game launch date and full hype once they announce certain stuff for NYbN?
The actual play happens in between the events of the visual novels, which came first, which bases from the material in the New York By Night source book. I would be surprised if it was advertised the way you suggest, as less people would watch the actual play than play the game
Update: Downloaded and installed it, put my two available Discipline Points into Obfuscate and Presence and... sadly I wasn't able to play very far into the demo. Not at all actually. The D'Angelo guy talks to Kali and the first dialogue options are provided, and while I can click all three of them (there is an animation and a sound), they do not get logged in and I'm left to frantically and desperately terrorize my left mouse button. But nothing ever happens. And I wonder... did anyone else encounter a similar problem? It does look really nice overall for a visual novel style game, I have to say. Which makes not being able to proceed even worse 😆
Thanks for doing what an official source should had done. I loved Shadows and some of its songs are on my vtm rpg playing list, I just hope they are just as PEAK as they were.
Your not the only one who doesn't like the art style as well, Shadows especially did it really well for me because of the Lasombra vibe, Julia and Dakota really stand out drawing wise, i don't mind change too much but this one im not really all for, like you said it was unique.
This is the first time I am seeing your face in combination with your voice it's just so frickin relaxing, it's like listening to a mortal version of Malcolm, a fascinating scholar with an incredibly smooth and amazing-to-listen-to voice :D
The old art style was very impressionistic, which is a really good combination with what's basically a book with chill music, it was one of the strength of the whole visual novel series of wod game and something that made games like Disco Elysium excellent canvas for imagination. If it's their last game maybe there's going to be voice acting, that'd be an interesting surprise if they have money to throw around.
I cant help but wonder if it will tie into Jason's New york by Night series as well because Julia appears in both the show and this game, interested to see where it goes :)
@LoreByNightVtM oh i know, same with LA and Bloodlines 1 but im curious to see how it goes and ties into season 3 of New York by Night (whenever that will be)
I'm interested to see what new mechanics and story beats they'll come up with. Since we'll play as a Ravnos, then maybe they could write different temporary quests for each new haven we use, for instance. Visual novels can do a lot in terms of replayability.
Oh finally! I’m so excited to try the demo! I’ve had so much fun playing as a 13th generation Ravnos myself, I can’t wait to see how the demo plays out. :3 Clan Ravnos needs more love!
Holy shit, LbN looks good with a beard! :0 Some of us knew the "Coteries" series was getting a third installment some six months or so ago. Really unless you hang around in the corresponding channel of the of official WoD Discord, I could see why you'd not heard of it. As we've really not gotten hardly any other news on it beyond the fact that it is indeed incoming. Julia Sowinski is Polish, actually. Which I personally thought was neat, since we don't get much info on that region in WoD.
@@LoreByNightVtM Oh yeah, no. I totally wasn't debating that fact, lol. Had I known it was such a poorly known subject, I'd have attempted to say something. I'm one of the like six people that frequented said Discord channel. I honestly just thought everyone knew but no hype train had developed over it yet since again we know next to nothing about it short of its apparent imminence.
A big fan of their previous VTM games here. Thank you for letting us know about the new page on Steam. I'm really excited for the new game! However, I'm disappointed by their artistic choices this time. I don't think there was any need for realistic images. I hope they will adjust the character designs to their distinct style, or I'll have to learn to cope with the changes :D
Saw somebody post this on the vtm reddit, and I am just disappointed how they re-designed Qadir. He went from sophisticated toreador sheriff to “average Middle Eastern guy living in Europe”. Why?
Hi I've been traveling slot lately so catching up on your videos I feel like lately world of darkness has been losing a fair few writer's again and these visual novel games rarely get much marketing they just appear on steam or consoles with maybe a short character description the writing is often fun and happy the ravens are getting some time in the spotlight but the lack of info on bloodlines 2 for me wondering will it come out with all the fan backlash
"Photorealistic" = cheaper. Take a foto, photoshop it a bit, and you save money on artists while saving time on production. It's also possible they just used AI art.
This one is actually funny for me and I'm only a couple hours in so far but it is just full of puns and cringe reddit jokes.. the writing is kinda weird like someone roleplaying as a woman or something and I often "holy shit no girls would ever talk like this" 🤣
Matter of fact, I didn't know this was even a thing. Bizarre they wouldn't get the word out, somehow.
Yeah, very weird. I can only think it is being keyed up for one if the ongoing game fest things, but even so, this is very weirdly placed

I'm one of said five, lol.
word of darkness is really slipping on the advertising lately for most of their games

Exceptionally stealthy demo drop... thanks for letting us know. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. I think I'm gonna give it a try right now.

@almightytallestred You need to hols the option
@@LoreByNightVtM Thank you so much!
I loved coteries and shadows. I'm really excited for the game.
That is exciting! I wonder why WOD hadn't said anything yet.
Thank you for making this, honestly never heared anything about it, added it to my wishlist, loved the New York visual novels :)

Oh my good Lore, you never cease to make smiles with your lovely party hat, and good news.
I have, in fact, worn this to summer parties and people tend to like it :3
bro is looking dapper as fuck
Thanks 🥰

Ive finally started a NY by Night chronicle with my friends and this is great news to hear!!!!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention! Also happy to see more Ravnos representation!

The actual plays ties into the videogames

Just kinda proves my point that the marketing is a bit shit lol

@SwankyKitteh82 Oh I know you weren't, just sharing frustration 😂🥲
bloody brilliant mate. thank you for sharing
The lack of advertising for that is odd, but it's totally good news. I loved both previous games.
I love those visual novels! Even got the artbook. Well, I know what I am looking for later.
Ooo! Thank you for the headsup!

There has been a lot of info on Bloodlines 2 now, like it is coming out this year.

Wait a Ravnos game????
No one is talking about this?
Hmmm.. Must be Camarilla interference.
