Thank you:: for this beautiful n easy video. I would like to know can I use round plastic lids instead of wood , thanks in advance mumtaz Noormahomed from south africa
Thank you for watching Mumtaz Noormahomed! You absolutely could use round plastic lids that are big enough to be coasters and even use UV resin instead to create the hard shell. Decorate with a paper design, or embellishments then cover your design in clear or lightly coloured resin. Would look awesome. However be mindful that with resin it may pop out of the plastic lid and just take the shape of the lid. Good luck and happy crafting 🥰
I used mod.podge on my cork coaster creations but it keeps on sticking with the other coasters and if left for a long time the image will peeled off and stick on the back of the other coaster. Please help on how to address this issue. Thank you
Thank you!!!! I have been looking for a way to make the paper coasters I have from my first date waterproof!!! The Mod Podge Magic trick in this video is the answer!
You're welcome!! Another way to water proof is to use UV resin instead. The modpodge might not handle heat very well, if you're having hot drinks. But it will be fine with cold drinks. Good luck with your first date!! ❤
Hi heathergilman 🥰 Good evening . I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌺🌺🌺
You should have noticed by now that nothing goes out of style. I don’t know your age, but just take a note of how different styles of clothing are coming back in, just a different name.

Why do people still use coasters? Furniture isn’t finished with lacquer anymore. You won’t damage polyurethane with a glass. Coasters are a leftover custom from another time and are no longer needed.
faith charity But I mean, so what? A few drops of water isn’t going to hurt anything anymore. Coasters are just more clutter you have to dust around, unless you put them away and bring them back out every time someone has a drink. How hard is it to drag a paper towel across the table when you’re done? Unless one has glass tables, in which case they’re just asking for extra work. 😏
I was brought up the old fashioned way and I still use coasters. They do catch the water from the sweat from a glass. It’s not like you have a ton of them, just a simple little gift that you designed with your love. And that goes a long way. A coaster is better than using a paper towel around your glass
I have like 30 people in my family😢😂
I always wondered how you did that, now I know! Thanks!

Won’t work with hot beverages
What material are your coasters? Tile, cork or ceramic? I want to know if this will work on cork?

Mod Podge dries tacky so it’s not a good waterproof coating.

Being that it can't absorb the sweat off of the cup/glass it will be all over your table.😩
Amazing
Love from India
How can I stiffen the coasters as they are rather soft and flimsy at the mo

Resin is better for coaster that will seat hot mugs. The Mod Podge will cloud
Love your coasters!
Why do people still use coasters?
Furniture isn’t finished with lacquer anymore. You won’t damage polyurethane with a glass.

You still need coasters. Glass does sweat and ice melts even in styrofoam cups. Nothing really goes out of date.

faith charity ...and if you think nothing really goes out of date, I’d be scared to see your house. Lookin’ like Good Times up innair. 🕺😆
