I didn't use match plan before due to just playing Championship Manager 04 for a long time. The reason I use match plan when Playing FM now, is having strategy for every sceanrio in a match and watching tifo on tactics by Sarri, Mourinho, Ancelotti and Pep to get ideas for how I want the team to play to their best ability. Just like Dier Mertens said about Sarri is how I like to play FM: "The thing I love the most about his style of football is the way he organises the phases when we are off the ball and structures the pressure we put on opponents when they’ve got the ball at their feet. It feels like he has already played the game out in his head and on the field you have an extra man"- Also my win ratio has got higher by using match plan. Also I like to put this quote by Sarri from his assistant to Zealand and other FM streamers: “One of my coaches used to tell me that people who speak about formations don’t know anything about football". I thought that was funny. Hints: While using a match plan use the match tactics, match practice in training and figure out before hand the subs so you know exactly be impactful in the match. Also check assistant not sub the players; this buggy sometimes.

When I picked up the game I immediately began trying to micromanage. Diamond formations only. Lost a lot and ruined my nerves. Now I set one simple tactic. No changes. It just works. I rely on staff more. Used to fire the GM immediately after taking a club, now my first priority is an appropriate for my price and level GM. I figured out team cohesion being high is huge. Subpar to average players outperform new signings three starts ahead of them because they have the experience with my team. I save as much as I can by taking a lot of free loanies that at least 45% of the time I will sign at their contract expiration. I only really spend on the main 11. Big focus on the academy. I always make sure to max out my loan away limit. Keep moral high always at top priority. Goes for youths too.
