Found your vlog while looking for sites for a photo tour I am planning to Alberta next summer. I like your work but from my perspective you focused too heavily on the challenge the snow presented rather than embracing the opportunities the weather brought to the scene. Thinking specifically of the sense of desolation in the image at 2:30. In clear weather that building would have had no soul. I'd say the same for abandoned settings in general... snow can emphasize isolation and loneliness. (So can the hard light of noon) I try to approach landscapes without preconceived emotion by letting the scene set the tone. And, I really liked that you didn't over process the crap out of your photographs. Good on you.
Thanks for the comment. Honestly can't remember what happened here, this video is from awhile back and I seem to have short memory. If you need help with your site selection let me know. Lots of stuff has disappeared lately, and I have a lot of locations that don't hit the videos. I actually think some of the spots from this video were burned down in the last year. Hmmm
Just found your channel. Great stuff! I have so many pins on Google maps for abandoned buildings that I've driven past without my gear. This video is a good kick in the ass for me to go back out and capture these treasures. You eluded to 'trespassing'. If I have to climb a fence, I generally move on.
Well done Jeff. You managed some good shots in what looked like very trying conditions - a warm, sunny autumn afternoon here in Australia! The snow and cloud do give your shots a raw and wild beauty. I'm sure you will be pleased to feel some warmth in the air again. I liked the old barn photo and the shots of the old car.

I have to get out myself! Price of gas these days....

Thanks for stopping by! Fall in Australia, I bet that's a great time of year. Somehow, someday I hope to get there to visit.
You got some great shots.
Thanks Alan. A few turned out despite it all.
