In variable AC voltage we can vary the output voltage waveform by controlling the on and off time of switches. In case of fixed AC we can't control the output voltage
In case of symmetrical waves like sinusoidal voltage or current, the average value over one cycle is zero. It is because the positive half cycle is exactly equal to the negative half cycle. But the average value of positive or negative half cycle is not zero. Therefore, in case of symmetrical waves, the average value is calculated for half cycle.
Mam actually, when the thyristor is in forwarding bias, voltage drop doesn't happen and if it is in the reverse bias the whole voltage drops so the voltage across the thyristor graph, should be reverse I guess mam, Please can you explain?
When T is forward biased it act as closed switch thus it act as a short circuit so no voltage drop occurs but when T is reverse biased it act as an open switch so the whole applied voltage can be found on T
